That said, the office itself is spotless. The staff is warm, skilled, and genuinely helpful. I only scheduled an appointment at this office because I specifically asked the receptionist during a 5-10 minute phone conversation whether they had a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) who performs cleanings. She confirmed that they did. That was the deciding factor in scheduling my appointment because I was only looking for an office where an RDH performs cleanings. Had the receptionist been transparent that the cleaning would instead be performed by a dental assistant and the dentist, I would have booked somewhere else. The appointment started in the waiting room, where I was questioned about why I was there, which I found bizarre. My appointment clearly showed that I was a new patient scheduled for a cleaning, exam, and X-rays. The dental assistant never introduced herself or explained her role. After I asked where the RDH was, she became defensive. During the cleaning, she repeatedly hit my teeth with metal instruments, which made me uncomfortable. She also attempted to use a plastic floss threader between my gums instead of regular floss. I was concerned this could injure my gum tissue, so I stopped her after she had done this on my upper back molars. After that, the dentist spent about five minutes performing the actual cleaning. It felt rushed and was uncomfortable. I did not feel that I received a thorough cleaning compared with previous cleanings I have had from registered dental hygienists or dentists. I left feeling traumatized, misled, and concerned about the condition of my teeth after they were repeatedly struck and after the floss threader was used on my gums. Throughout the entire visit, there was no apology or accountability for the late appointment, the misinformation provided by the receptionist, or my concerns about the cleaning process. In my previous experiences at dental offices, every staff member has introduced themselves and explained their role. My X-rays and cleanings have been performed by an RDH, who typically spends about an hour with me, followed by a dental exam from the dentist lasting approximately 10-15 minutes. DO NOT use this place. It is primarily a DSHS practice. Basically he gets peanuts from the state for Medicaid work. If he senses you have any money he'll try to get it. While under his care for several years. Getting my teeth cleaned twice a year I developed a deep cavity. So much so the tooth broke. I don't know how that could happen seeing as I'm in there every six months. Anyway dr z did a root canal and completely botched it. For several years after I had infections and irritation. Everytime he'd go back there and do something for about 10 minutes. Then he would admonish me for lack of oral hygiene. Anyway after about 3 years the crown becomes very loose. And dr z informs me there is a massive cavity and I need another post buildup and crown. At this point everything is very fishy. I leave his office without any treatment for my infection and end up going to a emergency clinic where the dr points out all the places of poor fit. I tried to get the dr to work with me on it. He said he would give me a refund for my crown and post. But he claimed I got the root canal somewhere else. Long story short I end up at the university of Washington school of dentistry. The tooth is unsavable. Keep in mind dr z said he could treat it. Anyway I ended up filing a complaint with the state and because I paid cash dr z says he didn't do the root cana. Also when the crown came off there was a thread of floss packed tightly inside. He'd been concealing this from the start. Just beyond dirty. He also had to redo another root canal he did. He can't keep a good office manager. He try's to treat too many patients at once. Does not take pride in his work obviously. It's sucks to have to go though this. He is a liar and a conman. He makes very little $$$ and gets weird when there is actually money involved. I've even had a tense standoff when he didn't want to give me back a gold crown of mine. This place is broke. Also he's into some weird Christian sect. I had his pastor try to ask about something I was doing or reading to loop it around to talk about something miracle. He also said dr z doesn't even own a house. I wish I was making this up. It's been a absolute nightmare dealing with this guy. Ask yourself do I want to get into a stressful set of events when I just wanted good dental care. No. Do you want to play stupid games for failed treatment. Take your Medicaid or your good insurance and go to the UW. They will treat you faster. They treat you better. They don't lie to you. They are not in it for profit. There is no reason for anyone to subject themselves to Millennium Dental Clinic when the #3 dental school in the nation is just across the bridge. They will get you in faster too. read more

walked into the waiting room and it seems like a normal dentist office UNTIL someone in a white coat walks out and (without introducing himself ) Sits down with an iPad and starts asking questions about your age, your dental history, etc.-- IN THE WAITING ROOM -- in front of other clients. IF YOU ASK WHY YOU'RE BEING INTERVIEWED IN THE WAITING ROOM INSTEAD OF IN A PRIVATE ROOM -- they'll gaslight you and tell you that there's no privacy issue. (I think I'll be the judge of that, thanks, since it's my privacy) If you tell them, you've ALREADY HAD X-RAYS THE DAY BEFORE -- they'll be annoyed -- I have since learned that x-rays are the biggest opportunity for profit for a dentist. One of the dental assistants (the European girl) doesn't know how to apply numbing gel. She doesn't leave it on for long enough to do anything. I told her to leave it on longer the second time I dealt with her and she ignored me. 2/3 times I've had cavities fixed I unfortunately had her applying the gel and almost punched the doctor out of reflex the second instance when he was giving me shots to fix my cavity. Extremely painful! I've never had this experience before at a dentist. Tears were just streaming down my face as I death griped the arms of the chair. The one time I got a different assistant I did not feel the shot and had zero issues. Not going back because of this. Applying numbing gel isn't rocket science. DO NOT GO AT ALL COSTS - SEEK OUT SOMEONE ELSE Absolutely the worst surgery/treatment I have ever had in my entire life, no exaggeration. I originally went to Zafarnia for headaches and tooth pain, to which his response wasn't to consult with other medical professionals to see if maybe I have migraines or other issues but instead suggested to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out. His assistants were very kind and caring, but they almost seemed scared of him, and for good reason. On my actually surgery day I am reading a paper handed to me regarding the operation, and as I am looking down reading and listening to him talk simultaneously, he tells me to look up at him in his eyes while he is speaking to me. What a f*cking joke... I chose not to argue as it wouldn't make sense to make someone angry that will literally be doing my surgery. I ask him if i will be put under, which for any normal person means being put asleep by anesthesia, and he assures me that will be the case. Low and behold I am laying on the operating chair and he injects me with local anesthesia... and then begins to cut my gums and literally crack my f*ucking bones out of my mouth. Probably one of the most traumatic experiences I have ever had. ON TOP OF ALL THIS.. before he injected me with anesthesia he said it has a potential to make my heart race. My heart starts pounding like it never has in my life, and he proceeds to ask me if I have heart problems and remarks at how young I am to be dealing with this.... As if what he said 5 minutes prior didn't apply. In general he's rude, gave me nerve and muscle trauma after the surgery for 3 months post operation, to the point where I couldn't fully open my mouth to even eat solid food and couldn't taste on one half of my tongue. I was just about to schedule a cleaning and because I have not had good past experiences at this office I decided to look at Yelp reviews! I guess I'm not alone! I found this dentist because they are one of the few that accept Apple Health/Medicaid. I figured how bad can it be to just get a cleaning. It's very uncomfortable to be in the office and witness how horribly he treats his staff. Very condescending and rude and controlling. I almost said something to him that he should not talk to anyone that way (all young women) but I refrained. Well he recommended getting a tooth pulled and I went to an oral surgeon for it since it required an implant. He does that procedure as well. When I returned a year later for my cleaning he read my chart and saw that the tooth was not there. He berated me for not going to him. It was like a parent scolding a child for not doing as he was told. I have other examples of situations but I think you get my point. Do NOT go to this clinic unless you just need a cleaning. The hygienists are lovely but that's it. Oh, and there are scriptures in the waiting room which might lead one to think Dr Z is walking a Christlike life but I beg to differ. When Covid first happened, I had no medical nor dental insurance and a severe infection, in one of my teeth, abscessed and I needed a root canal. This was when all medical and dental offices were ordered to shut down and only emergency cases were to be handled. Dr. Zafarnia agreed to see me through a referral and by the time I got into his office, the left side of my face was immensely swollen. He gave me a root canal and I believe he also prevented a critical loss of life from happening. I also have had two other teeth extracted and practically every tooth in my mouth has some major problem with it. I was having trouble just eating food. I was incredibly malnourished and my health was very poor. Dr. Zefarnia understood my problems and the critical nature of them and he took me in, as a patient, with minimal ways of compensating him, for his time and work. But he started addressing each one of my oral health problems, one by one. I have been seeing him now for a little over two years and he has addressed 98% of my oral health problems. I still have quite a few more appointments with him, In the future. I am now much healthier and have better nutrition and overall health, because of the things Dr.Zafarnia Has done for me. Out of all of my healthcare providers, Dr.Zafarnia has improved my health, more than any others and moreover, he has improved and restored the quality of my life, to where I am not only healthy but happy now. I was very depressed, because of my problems and now, out of the prayers I do say, multiple times daily, I thank God for him, every time I pray, brush my teeth or do anything, regarding my mouth. He has truly changed my life, for the better. I used to have severe anxiety, before going to the dentist and now, I look forward to every visit I have with him, even when my wife goes, I enjoy stopping in the office and just saying hello and seeing him. He is by far the most compassionate healthcare provider I have met in my life. He is much more than just a doctor, he is a true compassionate human being that is looking out for the health, of everyone he encounters. I know that he improves the quality of life, for everyone of his patients and anyone he sees. He is a true godsend and a man for humanity. I cannot express enough, my gratitude, the incalculable debt, that I owe and that one could only repay, if I were to return the favor and save his life, as he did save my life. I recently went to Dr. Camran Zafarnia at Millennium Dental for the first time, after changing my insurance. After doing x-rays, a general cleaning, and a checkup, he told me I had 10 cavities and needed a mouth guard. The bill would have totaled over $3500, and since I have always had great dental appointments with no issues other than maybe two cavities at most, ever, I was skeptical. After later reading reviews on him, I found very few positive and the majority negative, talking about his abusive manner to his employees and even his patients, which I also experienced in his rough, condescending manner. After asking for my x-rays back and taking them to a dentist with a much higher rating, I was told I had no active cavities, that my current fillings and crowns were in tact and holding, and that it was obvious I take good care of my teeth. She was looking at the same x-rays he took and looked at. We scheduled my next cleaning, and that was that. Needless to say, I am not going back. read more

I didn't know 2nd chances exist, before I walked into Millennium Dental Clinic. I came here from a war torn country. Not only my smile was broken but my dignity, my confidence, my happiness. Honestly, I couldn't look at myself in the mirror for so many years. I hid behind sunglasses so people don't see my tears. I hid behind fashion. I never really showed my smile before ever. I only smiled but without showing my teeth because they were filled with old fillings that fell out and caused me so much pain, those fillings I got in 1996 when I came here to Seattle. Dr. Zafarnia has changed my life forever. When I came into the Clinic, he was very very polite and kind and he looked at my teeth and told me that he was going to save my teeth. As I went into the Clinic, almost every other week or so... Dr. Zafarnia worked on my teeth and worked very hard to restore them. I just wanted to say... THANK YOU. When I came home... I walked upstairs and into the bathroom. I just started crying and crying... I had to hold myself on the sink and I finally looked up and SMILED. I haven't SMILED In so long. My Father was prognosed with Prostate Cancer in 2010. I ended up very very depressed and almost committed suicide more then 8 times. I ended up being on drugs for 13 years because my life was falling apart around me. My ex of 7 years and my ex of 2 years ended up leaving me. I lost one of my best friends due to suicide, 3 days after my birthday. I ended up in ICU for more then 20 days and on life support. I was so weak and broken inside. When I came out the ICU, my life started to change for the better. I started walking more then 4.5 miles a day. I started eating better and gained around 40 pounds. All the work that Dr. Zafarnia was putting in, was showing more and more and more. My confidence started to come back. I started walking with more Grace. I started having more Hope. More Faith and most important was my SMILE. The one that I had before a bomb fell in 1992. That 7 year old boy. I believe that him not liking that I was not ready for a root canal at my second appt. with no previous conversation regarding that since i was told that we were going to do a cleaning. From our first appointment we had an easy feeling. We scheduled on a Tuesday and thought since this was our first visit we would have a full dental check up, x-rays, etc. It was then told us that Tuesdays are for emergencies only, and since we did have a problem with one tooth, it was corrected in about 20 minutes and we were able to schedule for another appointment on the correct day for a full check up. No we came back in and my wife went back to have her check up started. About 20 to 30 minutes later the dentist walked in the front door and started to get to work. He asked if anybody on a certain car and I said yes I did. He then yelled at me in front of his office staff and other patients in the lobby that I needed to move and that I took up two parking spaces. I apologized. Looked around the room shocked that he was taking to me so rudely. I looked at the patient next to me and he seemed embarrassed. The dentist then looked at me and yelled at me to immediately move my car and to hurry up. You could tell he was serious and was not making a joke. I told him that's not how you talk to people and he said to hurry up and get that car moved immediately. I then said we're leaving can you please get my wife and he said no problem and could care less that we were leaving and never coming back. This is the rudest and worst experience I've ever had in an office. We didn't feel easy going in for her first visit, and this was just the icing on the cake. Dr. Zafarnia is the worst dentist I've ever been to. I went there for a few fillings and a root canal. When he numbed me for the root canal I waited for almost an hour before he came back. I told him I was not numb and he said it will be fast so I should be fine. It was so painful. Then when I came back to get fitted for the crown he somehow cut my gums and they wouldn't stop bleeding. He got frustrated and started yelling at me. I was in shock and left crying. Then when I came back to get the crown put in, it was yellow and didn't match my tooth color. This guy is a nightmare. I don't know where to start really....this office has literally changed my life. I came in with so many dental issues. 5 dentists didn't want to deal with them and my state dental and was told to just pull them out and get dentures. He was my last hope. He jumped at my case and took me on. I have had many procedures done...but 3 months later I'm able to smile, laugh, and talk without the embarrassment of my teeth. I have a severe dental anxiety, my first couple appointments were me crying, shaking, and absolutely terrified. The procedures have not been easy...but if you put your trust in him, show up to your appointments he wil be there for you. I had gotten to the point my teeth and the embarrassment kept me home, not going out, affected my relationship, my anxiety, and most importantly my health. Dr.Zafarnia and his staff did an excellent job providing me with the best care. I had done my implants in another country and came to Seattle, I found out my implant is wiggling and uncomfortable. Dr.Zafarnia first helped me with fixing it but it again was wiggling. Then Dr. Zafarnia redesigned another way of fixtures solution to fixing my implant which involved lab work but him and his team made sure I am receiving my implant as fast as I can and with a very minimum cost and excellent design, I am enjoying my implant for a year now!
