The three sisters that work there did a manicure and pedicure for my husband and me. on the manicure she cut my nails so short they hurt and the polish was chipping off the next day. My pedicure was just as bad with the polish chipping off the next day. I believe these sisters dont care anymore. read more

Girl who did my nails was super nice but did not do a good job. Visiting Maryland to see my boyfriend's family and decided to get my nails done... the place is nice and the people are nice but I was very disappointed since I spent 65$ on my nails. I got dip and they turned out very lumpy and my nails are not even. The nail tech also cut off all my cuticles which I know is bad practice because it can lead to infection. Later my cuticles started bleeding multiple places and it's painful to do things with my fingers now. Side note: They don't have a way to tip with your card, only cash so I wasn't able to tip unfortunately, which I would have even though I was unhappy with my nails. WORST Eyelash extentions ever!!! A professional application should take nearly two-hours to perform (not 20mins) applying individual extension lash to each natural lash. There should be NO glueing to the eyelid and applying a cluster of cheap drugstore false lashes for a $65 charge! NEVER should there be any irritatation to the eye caused from application. The appointment was scheduled for 6:30 after waiting an hour my daughter was finally attended too with ZERO prep work or cleaning performed. The person went straight to town glueing, never asking more information or concern with the service being performed! This was...I have no better word than disgusting. I made an appointment the day prior, but they neglected to mention they were holding a birthday party for kids somewhere around 4 years old, elsa garb, running and screaming everywhere. I'm slightly biased because I dislike children, period, but theraputic? Spa-like? A hilarious concept to this place. I would rather go get my teeth cleaned than come back. Now why did I say disgusting? There was a baby with a heavily soiled diaper rolling on the waiting couch. Covered in urine, I'd discover when she was called back. I didn't sit, and only touched the gel colors, looking for myself, and feel the need for a hot shower as if I worked a full shift at a daycare, and nauseated. No idea how the nails are; I had to leave because I was so repulsed by the atmosphere, noise, and lack of cleanliness. Gross. read more

Since I live and work in this area now, I needed to find a new nail place. So, of course I go to yelp to help me find a place. This one popped up first, walk ins welcome. From the picture it looked inviting and relaxing, so I figured why not let's give it a try. Upon first impression, out side they just have their sign, no walk-in welcome signs, and I failed to notice anything that said their hours. Could be because they had their front door open. But do they leave it open to show that they're open? I'm not sure. Any who, you walk in and to the right you have you reception desk, everything looks clean. I was greeted immediately, asked what I need (a fill and gel color). She then asked if I had an appointment, and I said no, do I need one?, she said no, I think I can fit you in. Then she had me pick a color, great. So, I pick one, they don't have it. I pick a second, she grabs it, takes me over to the station I'll be at. The esthetician, Nick, comes in, starts doing his thing. Not a conversationalist. So he works in quiet. No big deal, I like to just watch any ways. He does ask your basic questions, shape, length, satisfaction, etc. Then it comes to the painting, guess what? Color is empty. So I have to pick a different one. So I got my third choice of color, which is actually my go to color, but I was hoping for something different this time. Regardless, Nick did a great job. Felt a little rushed, but definitely did a more that satisfactory job. Time to check out, and turns out they only take cash tip. I'm not one to carry cash ever. So it's a bit of an inconvenience. Most places I've gone to have let me include tip on my card. They did not. So I'll have to go back to give Nick the tip he deserves. As far as pricing, a fill with gel color will run you $40. Slightly more than my usual salon. Will I go back? It's likely, but I'll call ahead and get an appointment with Nick because I liked his work. Hopefully, I won't forget to stop at the atm and get some cash for tip. Why only 4 out of 5 stars? Because little inconveniences add up. I base this 2 star review as an average of my accumulated visits to the salon. Today's visit, 1/19/19, really left a negative mark on my brain and heart which drastically lowered my rating. I have learned through past visits that the salon is unable to easily accommodate walk-ins therefore it is best to have an appointment. Typically, I will see whomever is available for pedicures but prefer to seen by Winston to have my nails (acrylic w/gel) done. I have never had a complaint about the work done and even brought my 15 year old daughter in to have her first full set completed over her recent Christmas school break and we also have had separate Mother/Daughter time to have pedicures done. When I called on Thursday, 1/17/19, to make the next available appointment with Winston I was advised that he would be on vacation until February 3rd. I would be traveling at that time and therefore advised if there was anyone else recommended and available. Jessica was suggested. I inquired with the person on the phone if she had any availability between 12pm-5pm on Saturday. It was advised that she took a break at noon for personal reasons ("to pump as she was a new Mommy") but that she could see me at 1pm which I booked. Fast forward to today...I live approximately 20 minutes from the salon so made sure that I left my home by 12:30pm so that I would not be late. I arrived and walked in prior to 1:00pm, checked-in and then took a seat on the couches to wait. I was patiently playing on my phone and perusing social media only to look at the time and realize it is now 1:15pm. When I inquire with the front desk attendant on how much longer the reply was "oh, she is almost done, just needs to polish"...ummmmm...no, this does not work for me...my Saturdays are very regimented to complete tasks I normally can't get done during week and I needed to be at another appointment outside of DC by 4:30pm which I did not want to be late for. I was going to reschedule...then after no polite response or remorse in expression for this lateness I then let him know to just cancel and I left. 1) How did Jessica even have a client if she normally took her long break at noon? 2) If she was running late why didn't someone check in with me or communicate the issue as I was sitting waiting on couch? 3) In this type of industry if "I" the client was 15+ minutes late they would have cancelled on me and taken someone else or even some salons keep credit cards on file and charge clients for missed/late appointments...yet...as the client when the tables are turned...? No real option/recourse. So now I have to truly sit with this today, reflect and decide to return or begin researching for a new salon not to far from my home in Mechanicsville, MD. read more

This is a tough one to write, but the issue needs attention. Everyone was lovely. The salon was clean and service was fine. My nails look nice. It was the pricing. I only have one hand. One. Not two and only wanted one taken care of. I was charged $13 for a polish change. Huh? When I asked why it was so much, I couldn't get an answer. My question was ignored. All of the staff are friendly and extremely accommodating. I absolutely love Mike! He is my favorite and the only tech that I choose to see. If I HAD to see someone else I'd pick Andy. I've always heard great things about the other techs though and the work I've seen has been nice. You can't really go with this place. Regardless of who you decide to see, I highly recommend making an appointment. They do accept walk-ins, but most of the techs are fully booked so you could end up waiting a long time before being seen. Oh, and the coffee service they provide is a sweet little bonus. The women who cuts my hair recommended this place. She admitted that she'd never been there, but said she'd heard nice things about them from her other customers. I made an appointment for a pedicure, arrived a few minutes early and the man at the counter went back to let Tanika know I was there. He comes back and said it'd be 8 or 10 minutes while Tanika finished up with her current client. No problem there. Tanika finally comes out, 20 minutes after my appointment time, and said "I forgot I had another appointment, I'll be ready in about 15 minutes." I had an appointment to get a haircut after the pedicure and couldn't wait any longer. Terrible customer service. Never asked me if I wanted anything while I waited and never apologized for completely screwing up my plans for the day. Now I have to waste more of my time this weekend finding a nail salon that will keep their commitments. read more

I've been to this salon four times now and the service has been excellent. It's clean and all the tools they used were autoclaved. The manager of the salon did my nails (manicure) once. He convinced me to go with the dip mani (more expensive) and said if it didn't live up to expectations he'd do another manicure for me for free. While I don't do manicures often, I'll only do the dip from now on. It lasted beautifully for four weeks before I felt like I needed it "filled" even though the color was till good and there were no chips in it. Having said the above, they tend to be very busy on Fridays and weekends, especially during nice weather. I would recommend calling ahead to make an appointment. In Southern Maryland we don't have many decent nail places and I think this one is the best. read more

Wow! This is my new regular spot for nails. Let me tell you the run down of my experience. So I called this morning to get an appointment around my work schedule and asked if they could fit me in today for a gel manicure. I didn't say full set which is what I actually needed. They fit me in and I told them I had to be out by 11:30. I got there and I realized I had said the wrong thing, and instead of turning my away ANTHONY saw me anyway. He worked so diligently to get me out on time and gave me quality customer service. At no point was my appointment awkward or bad. The place was clean and looked lovely on the inside. The entire staff was very friendly. Angelica picked up the phone( I do believe that's her name) she was new and it was her first day. But she was so helpful and very friendly. I am so glad I finally found a nail salon in southern Maryland where the service is excellent and the customer service is a priority. Me and my two friends all got manicures and pedicures and were taken to the VIP room since we all preferred to sit close to each other. I had a full set done by Lalah a little over 2 months ago. She did an amazing job and paid a lot of attention to detail. She listened to me intently and delivered exactly what I wanted. I left very impressed. My only complaint is that I wasn't able to tip her on my credit card, and did not have cash. The two women sitting next to me had also been waiting 45. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. I like this place but just had a weird 1st encounter wear the polish was not trying to dry correctly. It had to be repainted 5 times. I was there for a long time because of it. I don't know what the issue was, I think it was bad polish. Anyhow that was the down side. That's why I gave 3 stars and they didn't offer to take down the price after I was there for too long. I'll let that slide though. I didn't have to wait long initially but they were busy so I ended up waiting a little more than 30 min. That wait was fixed by the massage chair, and drinks being served. I had a new guy who was just learning some things but boy he massaged the heck out of my legs and feet. I never felt so good in my life! I will be going back to John. He even did great on my nails. He was very gentle and not rough at all. John was also very apologetic about the nail polish. I still tipped him because he did a GREAT job. Overall, the atmosphere, ambience, service and quality was great, but just know it's pricey. I will be back for pedicures and massages as a treat but I can't afford a $100 fill and pedi.( it depends on the type of pedi too) Still great place if you can, I'll be back!!
