I came to Miller & Miller Law in order to discuss bankruptcy options in September 2017. They seemed to have a professional appearance online and the person I spoke to, Frank, to set up my consultation was great. Now that my discharge has been issued I can say, I do NOT recommend this group. Extremely unclear about their process. I had numerous issues with communicating information about my case to my attorney and the paralegal team. Numerous times I came to my scheduled meeting to be given a surprise that was not welcome. The first time was the original filing date. I came to my meeting and the staff was running around trying to figure out something with my case, because apparently there was some kind of information missing. After a long wait, I entered into my attorneys office to be told that we have to reschedule because they needed a document. This normally wouldn't be an issue, except I talked to the paralegal the day before to confirm that they had EVERYTHING needed. That was inconvenience #1. The SECOND time I came to file, I was informed after waiting for 15 minutes that my attorney wasn't even going to be there, due to an emergency at their home. Again, this would not be an issue but I feel as though I should have been contacted prior to my appointment to let me know, so that I could choose to reschedule. I completed my filing with an attorney who had absolutely no idea about my case, and I feel as though it was completely unprofessional. Not to mention, this particular attorney seemed extremely annoyed with the fact that she was handling my case and my questions. Fast forward to my 341 hearing date. I was given absolutely no information other than the address and the time of the meeting. I got their 30min prior, as suggested. Was I met with my attorney? Nope. I was met with an attorney from the firm that I have never met and he didn't even show until my scheduled time even started. Didn't ask me any questions either. I was one of the first called and this attorney NEVER REVIEWED MY FILE, so when I was asked a question by the trustee about income, I answered honestly and the information did not match my file because who ever filed the paperwork did so incorrectly. My attorney's response when asked? "I don't know, I didn't do the paperwork". The attorney was then mad at me for not telling him that the paperwork was wrong. I moved December 1st, updated Miller and Miller with my updated address, was told it was taken care of, only to receive notices from both parties that my address needs to be updated because there is a forwarding order. Yet another unprofessional strike. The main contact, Wendy, is incredibly rude. She consistently cut me off while trying to talk to her, did NOT listen to anything I would say to the point that I would receive calls from her saying that she never wrote anything down and had to ask my the questions again. She consistently insisted that I did not complete my paperwork, even though I emailed the COMPLETED DOCUMENTS to her numerous times. Miller and Miller preaches this "7 steps to 720" BS. Its been 1 month since my discharge, and I have not received any information about anything. I have called, I have emailed, and nothing. Lastly, trying to get them to contact creditors who were harassing me was an incredible challenge. I was getting contacted by one particular credit through them AND a collections agency all the way into December, even though I informed them of the filing, gave them my number and referred them to the firm. As far as I know, not a single person from Miller and Miller contacted them when I requested it, because I was extremely concerned considering my 341 meeting was done and I was still receiving calls and emails. Overall, the only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because my case was discharged, so I guess at least something went right. They were absolutely not worth the money, the time, or the stress. If you are considering bankruptcy, although it is a stressful situation, I urge you to consider other attorneys and receive multiple consultations. Do not feel pressured into the first attorney that you meet. Bankruptcy is a stressful situation and you should work with an attorney and law firm that helps relieve the stress, not one that causes more. read more

Scam artists they collector retainer provide no services and when you reconnect with them they tell you that they have already blown through your retainer and that they will need more money from you meanwhile they have done nothing for you. I hired Miller&Miller to file chapter 7. I was making monthly payments until paid in full to file. During that time my employer was served with a garnishment on me. They didn't handle thigs like they said they would. My creditors kept coughing at me with suits and garnishment attempts. We came upon an opportunity to refinance our home to pay off all our debt. When we contacted Miller and Miller to cancel the bankruptcy and ask for paperwork stating the cancelation for the under writing at the mortgage company we got the run around for over 2 months. We still have not gotten anywhere with Miller and Miller. They promise phone calls that never happen, Tell you they are escalating the situation to someone else who in return never calls back or says they need to have someone else handle it. They re terrible crooks. They have taken our money but have doe nothing for us but cause us to lose out on a great opportunity to eliminate our debt. I have filed complaints with the BBB on both the state and federal levels, along with the CFPB. I Advise anyone who has had similar experiences to their lack of professionalism to do the same. My husband and I hired Miller and Miller early 2024 because we needed assistance temporarily. The communication was decent until after we filled, at that time communication stopped. We had questions that went unanswered continously. We requested insight on a debt we forgot about the attorney in charge and the Paralegal both never called or email me with answer we didn't know what to do which caused additional stress. We paid for services and did not get the promised benefits of using this lawfirm, we knew would possibly be able to dismiss or pay of early and this happened 6 months post filing. We asked for additional assistance with getting settlements for the amount we owed and to date never heard a word back. We are disappointed to say the least. This was my first time ever filing BK (chp 7) and it was the worst experience ever!!!! I wish I would have looked at the reviews before listening to someone else. The reviews are horrible!!!! The communication here is horrible. You only hear from them when you start the process and right before the hearing. After that its ghost town, but if you miss a payment, they will txt, email and call but they never answer or respond to you when you reach out. I had to reach out to my creditor to see if they received the reaffirmation form and they never did even though it was said it was sent twice. I had to do their job and ask for it to be sent to me so that I can send to the creditor . Coming to find out they were sending it to the incorrect email address. My thing is if a client is telling you that the creditor has not received it , wouldn't you think to reach out to see if you have the correct info??? Do NOT go through this company. Contacting them was the biggest mistake I made. I canceled due to being eligible for a debt relief program. And that of course makes way more sense. I paid them a total of $700. I work at a daycare I cannot answer my phone whenever they see fit. I tried reaching out several times through email and I never once got a response. After a month of my cancelation I was finally able to speak to someone to get my money back and not only was she extremely rude and disrespectful she claimed because they reached out and I didnt answer they are entitled to keep my money. I had a hard enough time trying to pay it with money I did not have to do so and not answering my phone does not justify them to keep such a large amount of money. Absolutely ridiculous. They are rude, terrible customer service. Horrible communication. It was the biggest mistake I have ever made that cost me what I didnt have. They clearly are just out for the money. I want to say that I don't like leaving negative reviews because I work in a review driven industry, but I just can't let someone else fall into the same pit of hell that I did. It has been a little over a year since I reached out for bankruptcy assistance. Miller and Miller was the only law firm that would take me on because I am a small business owner which apparently makes bankruptcy more difficult. The day I spoke to Mr. Miller about my situation, I was so relieved to know I finally had someone on my side to help me with my out of control debt that I actually cried in relief after I hung up the phone. While I'd made a lot of money in my nine years since opening my business and becoming self-employed, four years ago I suffered a personal tragedy that knocked me out of commission for three years. I suffered from severe clinical depression and anxiety and I could not work so I was unable to produce the same amount of product that I had in the previous years. Between the debt I'd already had and the subsequent years of borrowing money just to try and keep up with everything, I was so deep in the hole that I knew I couldn't get out of it on my own. Enter Miller and Miller. I didn't qualify for Chapter 7 so I had to go with Ch 13. I followed all of the instructions I was given, filled out all the information, submitted the forms, took the online courses and then the bankruptcy was officially filed. From that point going forward, the situation became a nightmare. I understand that these folks are busy but I needed answers to questions in days, not weeks. My attorney was all over the place in terms of what issues I was trying to get addressed. The monthly payment the court determined I had to pay for the next five years ended up being $3000 more than what I'd originally been told. I told my lawyer over and over that I couldn't afford the new payment and that it was wrong because of an issue with how my business had been valued. Long story short, it took around 4 months for my lawyer to get the information filed with the trustee so the payment could be reduced to what it should have been in the first place. But apparently you aren't allowed to correct mistakes that were made when you originally file. My trustee disagreed with the change and a hearing was set. Meanwhile, I was falling even deeper into debt. Long story short (and it's a really LONG story), I voluntarily had the bankruptcy dismissed after six months because it had made my situation a thousand times worse. If you're still reading, here's the most important part. The advice part. 1- do your homework on all your bankruptcy options BEFORE you pick an attorney. It turned out that in my state there was a statute that offered me the same protection as bankruptcy while repaying all my entire debt over three years. Not only was the monthly payment lower, but I was in complete control of my money. I could also make changes in terms of what debt (unsecured only) I could include. In Wisconsin it's called Chapter 128 and it's a debt consolidation plan so it doesn't appear on your credit report as bankruptcy. I was never told about this option when talking with my attorney even though it was EXACTLY the kind of program I was looking for. Why you ask? One reason. Lawyers don't make as much money with 128. If you're savvy enough, you can file the information on your own. 2-Same as number 1- DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK. I assumed my lawyer would take care of everything and I'd have a payment I could afford... a payment that would allow me to finally BREATHE and start crawling out of that hole I mentioned. Instead I ended up stuck in that hole with dirt being shoveled on top of me. Miller and Miller put me in a situation where my finances were no longer under my control, my business could have been taken away from me to be sold, and my mental health that I'd worked three long, really hard years to get stabilized took a huge hit due to all the added stress and anxiety. This was my first experience with working with a law firm so I don't know if they're all like Miller and Miller. I don't know if they all offer you a lifeline only to let it go once you pay your fee and you become just a case number floating in a cesspool of hundreds of others. My experience with Miller and Miller not only made my life a hundred times worse; it cost me so much more than the fee for their services. It cost me my trust. And not just when it comes to attorneys. I'm distrusting of any services where I'm forced to rely on an experienced person or business to help me. I'm distrusting of people too. Mr. Miller was so persuasive and genuine every time I reached out to him directly because my attorney wasn't responding to me. I honestly believed he cared about me and my situation. But he was just playing his part-- delivering reassurances and showing compassion when I truly needed it. And I fell for it hook, line and sinker. Don't be like me... don't bite. read more

I wish there were no star ratings it has been 3 years yes 3 years I delayed the first year but everything should have still been ready to go at the end of the first year now I'm going on 2 years phone calls and emails not answered . Whoever answers the phones refuse to let me talk to anybody above whoever is receiving my documentation and paperwork that I have to keep sending over and over constantly because they either lose it or say it was never sent which is not true a lot of of money spent on 3 years of nothing absolutely nothing and still waiting to talk to a lawyer if you come across their number run don't walk away run . I hired Miller and Miller for my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Petition. At first they were attentive and informed me of the process but then somewhere in the middle of the process they started slacking. I was suppose to get a form to decline a reaffirmation of a loan because I was voluntarily surrendering a vehicle and they were suppose to send me this form but I had to call bank on my own to send this form to them so they can send it to me. I was basically doing their job for them. So unprofessional. Then I discovered that I was also suppose to get a reaffirmation agreement form for the Mortgage because in the initial documents I stated I was going to keep the house. Well I found out today after calling my mortgage company that I was supposed to fill out reaffirmation agreement to reassume the mortgage so they continue to report payments on my mortgage since I checked my report and the mortgage was missing and so were the payments I have been making. My mortgage company told me there was nothing they could unless I refinance. I contacted Miller and Miller about this and no-one has an idea of why I was not sent a reaffirmation agreement form for the mortgage. I was charged over 2k for their services and this is what I paid for. Just ridiculous. Never again!!!! Do yourselves a favor stay away. read more

I would recommend this attorney firm to anyone. All of staff were professional, very helpful, and informative. Even though I used my cell phone for the GPS, I still managed to past the location. I called Tim and he stayed on the phone with me until l parked my vehicle. I had told him my nerves were making nauseous, so Tim a Sprite waiting for at the receptionist desk. I met with Attorney James Miller and he explained my options for filling Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, answered my questions. They don't deserve any stars! Please run! They are very unprofessional! Miller and Miller has my father in foreclosure because of a chapter 13 that they filed that he couldn't afford. They refused to fix the issues and they were allowed to wait till the very last moment to file it, and told my father at the very last moment to have the family to sign a form to get $600 monthly from our family to help him. They took all of his money and put him in a worse position. They continued to repeatedly lose his documents over and over. They were completely negligent in handling his bankruptcy case. Had they properly reviewed his documents, they would have known that he couldn't afford the plan that they put him in. Instead they scammed an elderly person. They have been rude, disrespectful and completely unorganized. My father is in worse shape than when he started with them! I went to the Office of Lawyer and Regulation and Licensing. The Kathy lady that called me about the situation was very rude and disrespectful to me and was extremely unprofessional as well. She talked over me many times and even raised her voice multiple times and wouldn't listen. Put this on top of us being black and it's the perfect storm. Slavery is still in play. It's just more sophisticated. Yes, it has gotten a little better in the last 400 years. However, we still face the same issues. The discrimination hasn't ever stopped and I don't believe it ever will! Oh, and just because OLR said that you did nothing wrong doesn't mean that you were right! I explained how I was treated by them to. You cannot tell me not to speak for my Father! You would speak for yours too if someone mistreated an elderly person. It should be elderly abuse. My first experience with Miller & Miller Law LLC was in March 2015. I'd made some pretty questionable decisions and was exploring the possibility of bankruptcy for the first time. Initially, they were very helpful and supportive -- I didn't feel pressured and I truly liked my attorney Joe. I paid them $500 up front and paid an additional $600 by May so I could file bankruptcy (they required $1,100 to begin working on the case). Joe was great at answering questions and the office got back to me in a reasonable amount of time. This changed after I was beginning to prepare filing for bankruptcy; I had completed all of the documentation and mailed it into them within a week of giving them my deposit. I wanted to get everything out of the way. They either did not receive the documentation or they lost it -- regardless, I was required to go through the process a second time and was frustrated as they only let me know at the last possible minute. My bankruptcy was officially filed in May and my creditors meeting was set for the first week of June. There were many instances where I spoke with Joe that I could tell that he did not remember me or details about my case. He would ask me questions that he'd already asked me in the past and was an absolute PAIN to get a hold of. I sent him about ten of emails, called the office on several occasions, and left voicemails for him to get back in touch with me. He only got back to me about 30% of the time and I often found it easier to ask the secretaries questions rather than trying to get ahold of him. He was unable to attend the creditors meeting so they hired some random lawyer to represent them that knew just as little about my case as Joe. My biggest complaint about the office is that they are terrible at letting you know what to expect and they don't contact you to let you know what's going on. I was beyond frustrated with them and called around August 18th to figure out what was going on only to find out that I'd already been discharged a week earlier. While I hope to never file bankruptcy again, I would never ever deal with this law firm again. I essentially paid them $1,700 to file paperwork, hire some random lawyer to sit next to me, and act as a useless middleman between myself, the courts, and my creditors. Edit: So I did a little more thinking on this and decided to give them an additional star for the programs that they use. I really liked their choice for the credit counseling course with Dave Ramsey, it was both informative and humorous -- though it does conflict with the other course they give you that is supposedly worth $1,000 that tells you how to rebuild your credit. I went through the 720 Credit course and got a ton of useful information. Though this doesn't make them a great choice because all of the information you learn in 720 Credit can be learned online for free. Dave Ramsey information can be found at the library for free and I'm not sure how much say they have over which course their clients use. read more

Worst experience. Took my money using automatic payment after I specifically said i could not pay that way, they took 2 installments before I had to change my bank account! No response for my repeated calls for help regarding the very stressful experience of filing for bankruptcy. They got me a second lawyer, who claimed he didn't see my texts or get my voicemails. I asked for a refund, and instead got a bill. I gave them $933 for two or three phonecalls, and a call to the IRS that didn't find out anything. I'm devastated. Not sure why it costs as much to do almost nothing, as it would've to do the whole bankruptcy. read more

Phone calls, emails that were rarely returned, or when returned never followed up on to help us effectively. We had 3 different attorneys in a year due to them quitting the firm.That seems to say something. Don't fall for the TV hype, commercials and empty promises. I used to own, manage, operate just under 3,000 residential units and lost them after the 2008 financial crisis. Most of the assets I lost were secured by real estate. I tried to settle with many of them but some of the creditors sued me and I had a few judgments issued against me. As years passed, the creditors left me alone so I was going to let the statute of limitations pass. In 2017 I had two judgment creditors renew my judgments. I am a licensed mortgage broker so these judgments and outstanding collections and charged-off accounts were affecting my getting my NMLS license in certain states. I consulted with a third bankruptcy lawyer and was told they could not help me because I had over $20 million of judgments and other debts and that was too large for me to file bankruptcy. Then I was referred to James Miller of Miller and Miller Law LLC of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I had a consultation with Mr. Jamie Miller and I liked what I heard. He gave me the facts and the bankruptcy process. I knew hands down Mr. Miller was the person that could help me. The whole process was smooth and fast. My paralegal, Nicole Thompson, was knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly, responded to my calls and/or emails promptly. The whole process took no longer than 30 days to file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. In about 3 months, I had to go to Kenosha Community Center where the meeting with a bankruptcy trustee was scheduled. Mr. James Miller's associate attorney met me and my wife there and instructed me what was expected and what my answers should be. We met the trustee and everything went well. This was the final stage for us to get the final bankruptcy discharge. That was April 2020. Since then, Mr. James Miller recommended several credit rebuilding consultants and I started to rebuild and re-establish my credit. My credit scores have increased to close to 700 FICO in less than one year of bankruptcy. I was referred to Miller and Miller by Hoglund Law who was working on a different type of case for me and could not do bankruptcy. (Hoglund firm sucked so I fired them) Anyway, I spoke with a male assistant at Miller and Miller. He was nice enough but really pushing for me to make an appointment to come in and talk. I just wanted to know what the pricing was for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. I wanted time to think about it but ended up making an appointment due to the pressure. I ended up canceling the appointment and hiring a much more awesome local attorney who answered my questions over the phone.
