BLUF: After nearly four years of representing myself, I had developed a good sense of what…read moreeffective advocacy looks (and doesn't look) like. Attorney Leaf exceeded my expectations. Once I retained her, I felt like the cavalry had arrived. She reduced my financial exposure from thousands of dollars to hundreds, and the difference in preparation and advocacy between Attorney Leaf and opposing counsel was immediately apparent. I imagine there's a time when a young person dreams of becoming an attorney, then spends years learning what excellence in the profession looks like. Then comes the day that person realizes they have become that attorney--and demonstrates it every day. In my view, Kristin Leaf is one of those attorneys. Words I would use to describe her are: mindful; considerate; empathetic; strategic; capable; understanding; and formidable. By simply doing her job well, Attorney Leaf distinguished herself immediately. The difference in preparation, responsiveness, and resourcefulness in court was obvious. Although Attorney Leaf treated the "other side" with courtesy and respect, and always conducted herself in a dignified manner, the difference in caliber between Attorney Leaf and opposing counsel was unmistakable. She takes the time to understand not just your legal position, but what you're actually trying to accomplish. She doesn't make you feel like a "case," like billable time, or like she's got more important things to be doing. She treats you like a human. She's also mindful that her time is your money and makes every interaction count. I personally observed that Attorney Leaf stepped in and pinch-hit for my other GRGB attorney. She's got people's backs. I had been pro se for almost four years, with the exception of two short appearances by attorneys that made my situation worse. I have no doubt that if I had been represented by Attorney Kristin Leaf from the beginning, I would be in a much stronger position in family court today. Most people "don't have the money" to spend on a lawyer, me included, but if it comes to spending money you don't have, better to spend it on someone who will work hard to get the outcomes you need-and who has a responsive, supportive, hard-working team-than on a budget attorney who doesn't truly listen or prioritize you. That's the one thing I appreciated most about Attorney Leaf. She listens--even when she probably already knows the answer. Even when your thinking is off track. Even when you're discussing something the court can't fix. She listens first, then works with you to identify the path forward. Attorney Leaf has clearly invested in becoming an exceptional attorney, and it shows in every interaction. GRGB is lucky to have her. Retain her before the other side does! I am also represented by another GRGB attorney in a criminal matter. As that case progresses, I expect to update this review to reflect that experience as well. That said, if you need representation on multiple legal fronts, that's yet another advantage of retaining this firm.

He was absolutely awful - honestly the worst attorney I've ever encountered. Among many other things, he would not respond in a timely manner (I would wait for days, sometimes weeks) and then he kept me in the dark on almost everything. He was full of empty promises and misinformation and didn't seem to know family law like he should. He was very disrespectful toward me as a client too, so I would avoid this law firm if I were you.

I reached out to my lawyer from a large law firm, but they were not able to help due to a conflict. Instead they gave me the name of Nistler Law and I am so glad they did! He was able to get my case to go to mediation instead of court which saved me not only precious time but also a large amount of money. Throughout the duration of my case, I had frequent updates via email, phone calls, and texts. As a physician, these updates assured me that my case was being handled appropriately. My invoices were detailed and allowed me to see what I was actually getting for the money. Overall, Nistler Law has made a lasting impression on me and has had a big impact on my clinic. If you have a legal issue that you need significant attention to detail, Nistler law is the place to be. I have them on my favorites list on my iPhone, would use them again if needed, and highly recommend them to anyone!

My ma has been trying to reach multiple real estate lawyers with no luck- not even a call back. To say she was getting frazzled is an understatement. I reached out on a whim to see if I could make a connection. After a quick conversation with the receptionist I was connected to Steve Schmidt. He spent over 30min (free of charge) on the phone with me -the daughter, not even the potential client- explaining the buyers side of a FSBO deal and how he can help. He spoke in terminology that made the process easy to understand and a stressful situation seem tangible. Excitedly, I pass Steve Schmidt's number on to my ma. He exceeded my expectations on the phone, but after he handled the process with my folks he set the bar (ha! pun intended) exceedingly high for any other lawyer. He has handled them as peers and treated them with patience. He is always quick to respond and forth coming about his availability (let them know he was on vacation and when he'd return). He took the time to explain a scary process for my folks who haven't bought a house in more than 30 years in a way that calmed nerves and wasn't belittling. I suppose as cliche as it is, this review is more of a public "thank you". Thank you Steve for all your help and kindness. My folks are excitingly closing on their house in a few weeks and couldn't have done it without you!

I came to Miller & Miller Law in order to discuss bankruptcy options in September 2017. They seemed…read moreto have a professional appearance online and the person I spoke to, Frank, to set up my consultation was great. Now that my discharge has been issued I can say, I do NOT recommend this group. Extremely unclear about their process. I had numerous issues with communicating information about my case to my attorney and the paralegal team. Numerous times I came to my scheduled meeting to be given a surprise that was not welcome. The first time was the original filing date. I came to my meeting and the staff was running around trying to figure out something with my case, because apparently there was some kind of information missing. After a long wait, I entered into my attorneys office to be told that we have to reschedule because they needed a document. This normally wouldn't be an issue, except I talked to the paralegal the day before to confirm that they had EVERYTHING needed. That was inconvenience #1. The SECOND time I came to file, I was informed after waiting for 15 minutes that my attorney wasn't even going to be there, due to an emergency at their home. Again, this would not be an issue but I feel as though I should have been contacted prior to my appointment to let me know, so that I could choose to reschedule. I completed my filing with an attorney who had absolutely no idea about my case, and I feel as though it was completely unprofessional. Not to mention, this particular attorney seemed extremely annoyed with the fact that she was handling my case and my questions. Fast forward to my 341 hearing date. I was given absolutely no information other than the address and the time of the meeting. I got their 30min prior, as suggested. Was I met with my attorney? Nope. I was met with an attorney from the firm that I have never met and he didn't even show until my scheduled time even started. Didn't ask me any questions either. I was one of the first called and this attorney NEVER REVIEWED MY FILE, so when I was asked a question by the trustee about income, I answered honestly and the information did not match my file because who ever filed the paperwork did so incorrectly. My attorney's response when asked? "I don't know, I didn't do the paperwork". The attorney was then mad at me for not telling him that the paperwork was wrong. I moved December 1st, updated Miller and Miller with my updated address, was told it was taken care of, only to receive notices from both parties that my address needs to be updated because there is a forwarding order. Yet another unprofessional strike. The main contact, Wendy, is incredibly rude. She consistently cut me off while trying to talk to her, did NOT listen to anything I would say to the point that I would receive calls from her saying that she never wrote anything down and had to ask my the questions again. She consistently insisted that I did not complete my paperwork, even though I emailed the COMPLETED DOCUMENTS to her numerous times. Miller and Miller preaches this "7 steps to 720" BS. Its been 1 month since my discharge, and I have not received any information about anything. I have called, I have emailed, and nothing. Lastly, trying to get them to contact creditors who were harassing me was an incredible challenge. I was getting contacted by one particular credit through them AND a collections agency all the way into December, even though I informed them of the filing, gave them my number and referred them to the firm. As far as I know, not a single person from Miller and Miller contacted them when I requested it, because I was extremely concerned considering my 341 meeting was done and I was still receiving calls and emails. Overall, the only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because my case was discharged, so I guess at least something went right. They were absolutely not worth the money, the time, or the stress. If you are considering bankruptcy, although it is a stressful situation, I urge you to consider other attorneys and receive multiple consultations. Do not feel pressured into the first attorney that you meet. Bankruptcy is a stressful situation and you should work with an attorney and law firm that helps relieve the stress, not one that causes more.
