After the heat wave great excuse to get out again. Yesterday everybody and their dog was at Lake Merritt and a less popular place like this might just be exactly what your looking for. Perfect place to take the pups. Wrinks walked around here and explored with the attitude like she was Columbus discovering the Americas. Needless to say she liked it. Weather was perfect for your furry friends. Not too crowded and lots of sort of smelly stuff for them to sniff. There was this one swampy dried out area that looked like a salt marsh. It read 'stay out' or something. Well, Rinks.... maybe she can't read English. Tons of parking on the street as well as in a designated parking lot. Very well maintained park. Very little trash or ugly anywhere. Somewhere around here I believe the Hayward fault goes into the bay. I might be back to investigate. Maybe a flag for Wrinks too. She can put it into the ground and claim whats now rightfully hers.

Just another wonderful little gem that's tucked away in the crevice of Point Richmond. I've been exploring this part of the bay a lot lately, and what I've been able to find has truly been mind blowing. Miller Knox is a fairly large regional park and recreational space that's located on the other side of the Point Richmond tunnel. It features several paved walking paths, picnic areas, large grassy fields, and direct beach and regional shoreline access. I stopped here for a light stroll before having lunch at nearby Keller Beach. This park is super green and well manicured. The paved walking paths are perfect for a light stroll, and there's tons of recreational space. This is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing picnic or to let the pups and babies roam free. Shoreline access is just minutes away by foot. The train tracks run parallel to the shoreline, and there's a dirt path that you can take that runs right alongside the tracks. You'll have some beautiful views of the Richmond-San Rafael bridge in the distance. On a warm day, this is the perfect place to visit since it seems to stay pretty cool due to its' close proximity to the water and light breeze. What's also nice is that Keller Beach is just steps away. You can walk to the beach right from the parking lot. Speaking of parking, there's an ample amount of spaces here. If the first lot gets full, there's a second lot just a little bit further down. And if all else fails, there's also easy parking along the road. Across the street, you'll find some heart pumping hiking trails at Nichol Knob Open Space. There's a beautiful pond that's situated right smack dab in the middle of the park. One of the walking paths will lead you to Ferry Point and a popular fishing pier. The views of the bay are absolutely gorgeous from here. And of course, very clean restrooms which is always a plus. This regional park is truly gorgeous and the upkeep is fantastic. So glad that I stumbled upon this Point Richmond beauty.

This park is a lot bigger than I had expected it to be. Pros: -free parking lot -beautiful, green park -multiple restrooms, benches, and water fountains along the way -views of the lagoon and bay -paved paths. Great for strollers, walkers, runners, etc. Cons: -lots of bird poop on the paths (smeared, fresh, etc). Other: -dogs must be on leash

Restrooms are available! Photo taken today

'Tis the pandemic season to bond with parks! I am always on the hunt for a new park/trail/walk/hike to check out. Who knew Richmond had this lil gem?! Any walk by a lake/ocean/lagoon - I am even more down for. (Google Maps told me the body of water here is called Miller/Knox Lagoon!) Bodies of water always make for some beautiful scenery. They have a parking lot, parking is free. Right off the parking lot, there are multiple buildings with restrooms available/open. I believe there are multiple trails around (check AllTrails!), but my partner and I decided to walk around and browse! It's a cool area with multiple paths/areas to explore. We saw railroad tracks straight ahead (West) so we went towards those. If you go past the tracks and turn right, you'll find a small beach area, called Keller Beach. We saw a few people chilling at tables over here. Then we went back to the tracks, and walked along them towards the tunnel. It's fun to walk these, but be careful - lol it appears to be a go-to drinking spot! There was a lot of broken glass from beer bottles and crushed beer cans on the ground. Then we walked back along the tracks in the opposite direction. Eventually, we walked along the area with the wide cement path and lots of greenery. If you keep walking (south), you'll eventually hit something called "Santa Fe Railroad Terminus at Point Richmond" on Google Maps. Apparently you can fish here without a license, according to a sign I saw! Then we walked back, north/northeast, along the wide cement path back to parking. We also noticed a small playground. Overall, lots of space to explore and enjoy some fresh air!

Love this park/beach in Point Richmond! Visited so much when I used to live closer, can't believe I just remembered to write a review until now. So much space to social distance. There's signage everywhere reminding people to wear masks and stay 6ft apart with no gatherings. This spot is beautiful, calming and a great place for long introspective walks, runs and bike rides! Even perfect for grilling and picnics when normal life can resume again. Plenty of picnic tables and benches and logs to spread out on. So very glad Point Richmond has still kept up this little hidden gem!

Its on the other side of the tunnel !! Plenty of walking space by the water , a little lake is nearby aside from the beach nearby. Usually pretty packed daily since there's houses / boat area / and other things nearby so there's a lot of foot traffic in the area so keep that in mind if you like to be alone. Great place for family time , dogs have been in the area I believe they can be you just have to clean up after them. Ducks and other things pass by occasionally. Has multiple restrooms in the area also so that's very useful. Went here as a kid had great memories you should make some of your own ! :) Thanks for reading hope this helps !

Large quiet park on the bay with tons of picnic tables (no group picnicking). Shaded by large trees. Great view of the bay, paved paths for walking, and good clean restrooms.

I am the first to admit that I'm not a natural park explorer. Those three words just don't describe me at all. I like a good park but usually from the comfort of my car at 35 mph, and I really don't seek them out like an intrepid explorer with a pith helmet and a butterfly net. The only thing I explore with zeal are restaurant menus, not the flora and fauna a park has to offer. And there ain't nothing natural about me. Just call me pretentiously urban. So it should come as no surprise that the only reason I came here was a corporate volunteer event where I was part of a group assigned to pick up the trash along the shoreline. Fortunately, the random trash didn't obscure the appeal of this slice of greenery. Imagine my pleasant surprise to find a park with panoramic bay views, leisurely trails that hug the shoreline as well as a salt water lagoon full of ducks, seagulls, and most conspicuously, large Canadian geese whose unbridled honking signals not to get too close (photo: http://bit.ly/2m5H2Jf). What was most fascinating was the dilapidated train ferry pier which was built at the turn of the last century when the Bay Bridge was just a dream in some urban planner's head (photo: http://bit.ly/2EldpLv). Currently the train ferry pier is off limits, but fishermen take over the connecting concrete pier. It was a nice find on the other side of the tunnel that connects the park with Point Richmond. Maybe I am a natural park explorer. It could happen.

Have come dozens and dozens of times to watch the sunsets over the San Rafael Br. Sublime Serene Simple Sexy Scintillating Sacred Soft Scenic Shades of orange and yellows and Sooooo peaceful A moment spent in gratitude, a prayer for all the suffering, and a renewed "all-can-be-right-with-the-world" to combat the gritty reality of an unfair world ruled by a just One.

Been awhile since I've been back here and it has changed a bit. Looks a lot more cleaner and calmer. I used to come here and swim and play on the beach every weekend hen I was a teenager and it was a lot more crowded. Beautiful beach in the southern part of town and a great place to watch the sunset. Came back to see how it looks and enjoyed the golden hour before heading back to the peninsula. If you're in the area you should definitely stop in town and have a bite then take a stroll down to the beach and catch some fresh air.

We…read moregathered at the dock super early and although we thought it was early, Captain Kyle was up and at'm ready to fish! He said we were in for an adventure. The great thing about DSF is that they provide all the gear necessary for your catch. We were going out for Tuna as Bluefin are now found in the waters off the west coast, we were all pretty excited to go fishing. All we brought with us was food and drinks, having everything else included was a bonus. In the event we caught anything, they'll cut, clean, gill and give us fillets. The boat ride was awesome, no one got seasick thank goodness, there's ample seating inside and out. It was super foggy in the early morning, but cleared up by the time we started. I've not been on a fishing boat prior to this trip, and I was blown away at how scenic and beautiful the water was out there. The bright sunshine gave the water a super bright blue appearance, it was cool. Captain Kyle and his deckhand got everyone rigged up and ready to fish. The Captain is youthful and took his time answering questions and giving advice. His mixture of humor and knowledge of where the fish were was certainly a bonus because as soon as lines were in the water we heard, " Fish On!" That first Tuna took everyone on board including my son Parker to reel it in ( Posted Picture). What a freaking rush. It was exciting watching as everyone reeled something in on the boat. We laughed, joked and had such a fun day out on the water with friends. On our way back in to harbor the Captain pointed out several whale pods swimming around the boat, it was a trip seeing them jump. We enjoyed our lunch and talked about who caught the biggest tuna. In all honesty, that first one was the biggest in my book. I can't say enough great things about Captain Kyle and his Diamond Sport Fishing. Reservations were easy as charters go out practically daily either 1/2 or full days. The waters off of California are changing, getting warmer, they're seeing Bluefin Tuna and Marlin so who knows, maybe our next trip we'll catch something epic! Overall Impression: A+
