Our waiter tried to be slick when he rang us up wrong and tried to lie about it fifteen minutes later. Rather than be honest and explain the wrong charge, reversal that took him 15 minutes, and new one; he just said it was a computer problem. Only because we hailed the manager from another waiter, who begrudgingly hobbled over after awhile, complaining he was busy cooking, did our waiter then attempt to explain what actually happened. Manager's customer service and hospitality wasn't really becoming of the job. Irritated. Gruff. Unhelpful. Corporate oversight's needed here. These types of transactions are retail 101. We stopped by last night around 6pm from our Sunday evening family dinner. We were a group of 5. Walked right in, no wait. Restaurant is a proper sports bar. Tons of TVs of various sizes. You can see a tv from any seat. It's very loud with game activity, not good or bad just something to be aware. There is seating inside (high tops, low tops and booths) and covered outdoor seating. There is a large bar in the middle of the restaurant with seating all around. Menu items cover American pub style options such as handhelds, burgers, salads, wings, steaks and more. Food is underwhelming. If you're coming here, order a burger or wings. Everything else in my experience are below average. Last night we had classic burger (good) big red chicken sandwich (good) Mimi festive bowl (meh) kids burger (ok) kids Mac and cheese (bad). Pricing $10-20. I stopped by here to catch an Orlando City game. I was a bit surprised that not one TV had the home town soccer game on, but they were nice enough to put it on for me. It was around 5pm and it was not too busy. The bartender and staff were super friendly. I dropped a star purely because the bar TVs were absolutely filthy and it was kind of gross. It was a flash of memories when I walked in looks exactly like the ale houses that have been around forever. My husband and I like coming to this location in Hamlin for football weekends or sometimes for lunch in between meetings after work. All the staff has been on top of it every time we come to eat, especially Rose at the bar (always super nice, with the best attitude). The food is always out on time, and pretty tasty. I can see that they really try to meet times, and service and from my point of view they have been doing it great since they opened. This is a very convenient location if you live in Horizon's west. I love this Millers. It's less busy than the others in the area (the one at the corner or 535/535-locals will understand-is legit the craziest all the time) and it's newer. The only reason they don't get a 5 is not the fault of the restaurant staff but the space doesn't have any outdoor space. So like the "outside bar/patio" isn't technically outside and they don't have the traditional fire pit section that a lot of the Millers have. If you're not local make sure you try the mountain melt, get it Millers style and share it! Also, don't be fooled any "ale house" that doesn't say Millers isn't the real deal don't be fooled! If you are from Orlando, chances are you have been to Ale House. It is your typical sports bar, huge menu, lots of options, lots of drinks, especially beer. This one has opened in our area, about 6 minutes from our house. It took us about 3 months to finally get here, because the wait is always so long! You can sit at the bar, inside or outside. They have TVs everywhere so you can absolutely watch some of sort sporting event while eating. It definitely has the sports bar vibe and atmosphere. Game days for our football team are always the most fun! We have been to Ale House numerous times and the food is always pretty good. I know what I like, and I know what I am going to get. The food is typical ale house food, but we actually enjoy it. It usually comes out right away, it's always correct and always hot. Some of my favorite items include the zinger mountain melt, the zinger salad and the Cajun chicken pasta. Their wings are also good and honestly most of their appetizers. I honestly have never had a bad meal here. I love their loaded fries but recommend asking for the fries crispy or well done. Once that cheese and everything gets added, they get soggy really fast. On certain nights of the week, they offer specials such as the prime rib, coconut shrimp and crab legs. The drinks are very good, every night almost having a drink special or beer special. We usually go for beer, it's just the vibe that needs beer, but I also enjoy their wines and mixes drinks (margaritas and martinis) as well. All in all this is a really great place to get some really great food. I have done the order ahead car pull up a few times as well and I do not recommend the car, where they bring it to you. Last time I sat there way past my time, I called a few times to remind them I was there (I could not get out of the car because of my doggies) and when they finally brought my food, they shoved it through the window at me and it was ice cold and clearly been sitting there for quite some time. We had an exceptional experience on Tuesday night at Miller's Ale House in Hamlin, thanks to our server Alyssa. She was so impressive and right on top of things. We weren't needy, but she anticipated our needs and checked on us several times to ensure we were having an enjoyable experience. Everything came out perfectly as ordered, including any modifications/additions. I ordered one of my favorites -- the Big Red. I also like extra Mt. St. Helens sauce on it to really taste the explosive flavor, along with some blue cheese dressing to add to the otherwise dry sandwich, and some ranch dressing for dipping my fries. Luckily made it in before the crowds, server was excellent, even though she was pretty busy was made sure to check in on us regularly but not too much. Had refills for us without asking. Dining area was moderately loud but not to where you could hear the people at your table ( again it was kids night). Food was excellent and plentiful for the price paid. I personally had the Cobb salad, lettuce was fresh as were all the toppings. Candied bacon was delicious as where the pot stickers. It opened ! It opened ! It finally opened! I've been waiting for Ale House to open because I love their nachos! We went on a football Sunday and I was great! If you don't enjoy loud cheers or people having a good time regardless of what team they are rooting for then this place is not for you at least on Footballs Sundays. We aren't football enthusiast but we don't mind watching and cheering along hardcore fans. Don't ask me what is happening in the game I have no clue! But do ask me about the nachos :) Service was great, food was great , and the ambiance was great. We are so happy to have an ale house in our area finally! We try not to eat at chains that often but sometimes you just get a craving for some zingers (IYKYK). We came in on Monday night and it was not overly busy, so we were seated right away. Our first attempt to come here was near their opening and the place was SLAMMED so it was actually nice to know the crowds have calmed down. For an Ale House it is smallish but they still have a nice patio and ample seating inside. Our server was nice but the waters we ordered took almost 10 minutes to get back to us, and seeing as they weren't slammed that was odd. We decided to just share a mountain melt and spinach and artichoke dip to start. I ordered a beer and we got margaritas too. The Bucs were playing that night and we were hoping to watch some of the game while there. Our food didn't take nearly as long the water and was out pretty quickly. Of course, it hit the spot. The only problem was the next time we were spoken to was to drop off the check "no rush" we were told...this was maybe 5 minutes after the mountain melt arrived. No, "how is everything?" To start, my family & I had walked after having so much fun next door mini golfing. This was the only place that was open in the area so why not? It was pretty busy walking in so initially we couldn't get sat right away and we understood that. Then it seemed there was an open table but we had overheard that, that server in that section was gonna get cut for the night but because of us, the server wasn't. We got sat, greeted and just the demeanor we were given was just not the right attitude we would have expected. We got our sodas, and 3 were flat. Because of the attitude that was given initially, we didn't even want to ask for another sodas or just anything else. Ended up getting water because the soda was "out" and was told if "we really wanted drinks, we should do liquor because that's our best bet." We don't drink. Respectfully, if no one at the table had gotten alcohol, please don't offer that as an alternative because you're "out". It's a fountain drink. so that was plain out laziness not getting a change of the syrup in my opinion. The only thing that came out good was the food. It was hot, fresh and tasty. Millers Ale House is typically a solid choice when you're looking for a decent meal. The menu offers something for everyone even the pickiest eaters. The food and service are usually consistent and we tend to order the same items when we go. You can't go wrong with wings and zingers! The zingers mountain melt is a favorite of our daughters and we've eaten more mountain melts than we can count! This past visit, the service and food was not as good as we're used to. We were a bit disappointed as the food took a very long time to come out (45 minutes) and the restaurant wasn't busy. We were one of 5 tables when we arrived. When the food arrived, the zingers on the mountain melt appeared burnt (see photo) and my daughter wasn't able to eat some of them because they were so hard and crunchy. Our server didn't refill any of our drinks, nor come back to check on us so we could ask for refills. I sat with an empty drink after eating nachos with jalapeños. I ended up asking for a box because I couldn't eat them without water. I have been a loyal customer of Ale House going back to my days frequenting Ale House on Kirkman Road when I moved from Addison, Texas to Orlando in 1994. Ale House had a "Key Club" back then and loyal local customers present their "key" to get some perks. 1994 and into the 2000's was big fun at Ale House as Wet 'n Wild waterpark colleagues would visit this location for some camaraderie together. Ale House is often my "go to" when consulting with local business leaders throughout my 29 years in Central Florida. Ale House provides a relaxed environment, welcoming all and an environment providing an opportunity for any curiosities to be tabled with your clients or friends. I continued to visit several Central Florida Ale House's through the 2000's: the great food continued and the fun atmosphere remained. Today, I walk to my local Ale House on Independence Parkway in my village of Hamlin: 'Winter Garden, Florida' for the tourists that flock to Central Florida. Still today, great food and an open and welcoming atmosphere to all. Grabbing a seat at the bar is always fun: Scottie provides superior service at the 'open-air' bar that overlooks the Disney Fireworks display a mere 6 miles away and Mary Jane's hospitality is clearly evident as she welcomes you to the 'climate controlled' bar inside if cool air is needed to escape the Florida sunshine. I have met more good people in Ale House than any other venue I know. I have conducted business meetings at a booth for every company I have worked at and continue to do so today. The added value today is that I am meeting my great neighbors here in Hamlin as I have more time to meet the people where I live, work and play. It's a great place. The salads are scrumptious: Zinger salad with sweet Thai chili zingers and honey mustard is my favorite. This new grilled chicken is a close second.
