This was my first time here. They have a great craft beer selection and the wings are pretty darn good. For me the pizza was ok. I liked that it wasn't super salty but wished it had a bit more sauce. My daughter ordered pasta which came out 10+ minutes before the rest of our meals. Operations seemed a bit disorganized. The food was good enough that i will come back but hopefully things are smoother next time.

Meatball Meatball BBQ Sub - 12" Sub

We arrived around 3 PM on a Thursday afternoon right before Christmas. We had the entire place to ourselves, literally. There was no one else in there. All of their menus are QR code. There were just two of us in our party, and we opted to keep it simple. My husband got the meatball sub with fries (there is a up charge fee for fries) and I got the metro turkey sub with chips (no up charge). They have Coppertail beer on tap, and with it being a beer out of Tampa, I opted for one glass of beer while my husband got a Sprite. The subs were beautifully toasted. Not too hard, but not too soft. The meatball sub was good but it needed more marinara on it. My husband ended up asking for two more small containers to add to the sandwich. Overall, it was good, but he said the pizza and the wings he's had there before were much better. I had the metro turkey sub which was turkey, deli meat with green apples and lettuce, cheese and a slightly spicy sauce. Was not overly spicy but the perfect balance with the sweetness of the apples. I really enjoyed my sandwich and would order it again.

We've been visiting here for over two years and are always pleased with the service and friendliness of this restaurant. Their wings are solid, and their pizza selection is always enough for everyone in our family to find something they love. This time we tried the cheesy bread, and it will become a new staple for us each visit - it was so crispy and cheesy that it was demolished in seconds! My husband especially appreciates the good craft beer selection and I love the small town family feel each time we're greeted. As a bonus they always have the best football games on during the weekend!

I see all of this love for Josie's but to be honest I left my experience feeling whelmed at best...not overwhelmed; not underwhelmed...just whelmed. Looking to order pick-up I hopped onto their website to review the menu and found it to be glitchy and not mobile browser friendly. The site said to download the app, so I did...and it's just as glitchy. I started to try and place an order through the app but it would not allow for modifications to the order. I gave Josie's a call and was able to place my order with ease. The employee who helped me was super friendly and attentive. After a brief wait; maybe 20mins I headed over to pick up our food. The dining area was small but very clean. A handful of customers were scattered about having beer and talking. I will say they have some great local and craft beers on tap here. I was promptly greeted and my order was ready when I arrived. So far you're thinking...if everything was so smooth and easy-why the two stars? The food. We ordered two calzones and an order of their cheese bread which totaled just shy of $31. Upon getting our order home we found the serving sizes to be lackluster. The cheese bread, tho delicious, was quite tiny. The calzones were of okay size but massively lacking on the fillings and the majority of it just being bread. It just wasn't worth the price we paid to be honest. There are other, local joints nearby where you can get way more and better food for a similar price. Sadly that is what made Josie's a one-and-done for us. Obviously I am in the minority when it comes to Josie's but based on our experience we just won't be returning. The service was wonderful but the portions didn't add up to the price.

I've been going to Josie's on Hiawassee for more than twenty years, but somehow missed the opening of this one, which is much closer to my home. The space is much brighter and more open than the old location. Although there is a sort of bar in the back, this is primarily a table service place, with plenty of tables both inside and outside. On our visit there were a handful of inside tables occupied, and the sole server was doing a fantastic job of keeping up with everyone. We shared a large Greek salad, an order of ten hot garlic wings, and a pepperoni, ricotta, and basil pizza. Everything was excellent, and the hot food arrived literally steaming from the kitchen. The Greek salad was a nice mix of fresh veggies on top of crisp lettuce, and the Greek dressing was delicious. The pizza didn't have a crisp crust, but the sauce had a great oregano flavor, the cheese was plentiful, and the pepperoni was very flavorful. The wings are the wet style, and some of the best in town. I love that they use fresh garlic on top of the hot sauce rather than mixing in powdered garlic. A lot of places have been having staffing issues, and we had the impression there might be just two people working here on a Monday at lunch, but they were certainly doing a great job, and I give them full points for food and service.

The food, although a little pricey, was absolutely amazing. I ordered the Bangin' Shrimp as an appetizer, which blew me away. The shrimp had a tempura fry to it, giving it a perfectly crispy crunch. The sauces that were drizzled on top helped to amplify the flavor of the dish. For my main course, I ordered the Shroom N Swiss burger. I love how thick and juicy the burger patties are. It's hard to find a good burger place that has thick patties, and The Whiskey delivers that meat. Another thing that blew me away was the mushroom that came on top. Usually, mushroom burgers have little slices of mushrooms, but this burger had a big fat slice of mushroom on top. And it tasted so good. This is a perfect atmosphere to come in, grab a couple drinks, eat good food, and maybe even catch a sports game or live music. Only thing I will say is that it may be a little loud for some, making it hard to hear conversations. But if you love a loud atmosphere, then this place is perfect!

I always love the vibes here, whether I'm sitting in the main dining room or in the more casual bar area. I had the brisket sandwich and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything amazing either. I also upgraded to the truffle fries and honestly, not really worth it. The fries were just okay too. I got a spicy margarita and I feel like tajín would've made way more sense than the sugar rim they used. One thing I did notice was the service. Nobody really checked in on us and at the end I had to walk up to the bar because my tab was never closed out. When I asked about it, the waiter looked a little bothered that I even asked and said he'd go find somebody else, even though he was supposed to be our server. Not the biggest issue ever, just something I noticed that made the service feel a little inattentive overall. Overall, not horrible, but probably not somewhere I'd personally go back to.

Before I even got my food, I had a great interaction with Mercedes at the counter. She was genuinely friendly, easy to talk to, and didn't rush the moment, which set a really positive tone right away. I ordered a cheesesteak with everything on it, and when it came out, it was clear they don't cut corners here. The sandwich was fully loaded from one end to the other, with finely chopped steak that was juicy and well seasoned. The cheese was melted throughout instead of just sitting on top, so every bite had that same balanced flavor. Even with all the toppings, nothing felt overwhelming, and the bread held everything together without falling apart. It also came with fries, which were hot and crispy, and I paired everything with a peach Crush. That combination worked really well, especially with how rich the cheesesteak was. Between the quality of the food and the customer service, this is an easy recommendation. If you are craving a cheesesteak and want something that actually feels worth it, this spot is a solid choice. The ambience was just simple. It gave a mom and pop shop vibe, I love it.
