Definitely a hidden gem as it's not on any main road but I feel like you should make this a destination if you're from out of the area because it's a real Amish bakery! I feel like there is something for everyone here! My husband thought the Dutch apple pie was out of this world. I thought it was different because it was chopped oats. We were not a huge fan of the chocolate chip cookies, the texture kinda got me, and the chocolate chips were an interesting flavor. My mom thought the pecan tarts were so yummy. I could literally taste how fresh and homemade that dough was, I thought it was very good as well, but probably would try something else instead next time. The cinnamon roll was interesting because I thought it was a lot more Joey than we used to and it had an icing on top. I actually really liked it. I am not someone that likes the super glazed sweet stuff so this was the right amount for me. My husband and I were not huge fans of the Fry pies. They were glazed, which is a personal preference. But the filling was just too much for me, I like more writing than filling, especially in the middle. It was a little overwhelming. I also felt like they were filled with more of the canned stuff rather than fresh bc of the consistency. The fresh sourdough bread was out of this world. This is a hidden gem off the beaten path, if you didn't know it was there you would never know it is there. It is very authentic and rustic. Get there early!!!!!! We have tried many baked goods in the area and I have to say the glazed donuts were one of the best I have had. So light, pillowy and full of flavor. The maple cream stick was outstanding! The dough was light and the cream was fluffy, best one I have ever tasted! Purchased a peach pie, should have asked if it was made with fresh peaches! It was not! With fresh peaches so available you would think that's what they would use. Amazing Apple fritters. Enough said. But seriously, it has been fun over the years to watch Miller's Bakery grow and develop. The first time we went, there was no electricity. It's still a cash only business, but now there are lights. They have many delicious baked goods and even a small part of the store dedicated to other home made goods. The rustic table and tree stump stools invite you to enjoy a bite to eat while you're there, so we absolutely enjoyed that! They even provided coffee to go with all those goodies they sell. Well that was worth the trip off the beaten bath. The cream sticks melt in your mouth and are filled full of light whipped icing. The mini apple fritters are the size of your face! We went around lunch time and the selection of donuts and bread was limited. There were several people ordering fry pies so I am guessing those are pretty good as well. Wow. The biggest thing that stands out to me is FRESH. My mom and I agreed that we've had food straight out of the oven that didn't seem as fresh as this stuff. How do they do it? I enjoyed the cheese tarts, but I don't think they would get me back here on their own. And the maple iced cinnamon roll, raspberry fry pie, Apple fritter and rye bread were all well above average, but again, since it's a little off the beaten path, might not go often. But oh my, the iced black raspberry filled donut. Sorry, I need a minute. ...Ok. I don't even know where to start. The frosting? The filling? The dough? They were all perfection, and in the perfect ratio, plus it was huge and less than $2. There are whole blackberries in the filling. And tbh, I don't even normally think of blackberries as having a tremendous flavor, so that makes it even more impressive. But oh, the freshness. I forced myself not to eat it all in one sitting, and several hours later when I went back to it, it was still fresher than most donuts are right when you buy them. Again, I don't understand how they accomplish this. Btw, I didn't try any cookies this time, and I highly regret it now. When visiting the Millersburg area Millers Bakery is always a must for us. They really are Masters of their craft! My favorites here are the apple fritters and the cheese tarts. The fritters are always nice and soft with fresh apples and to top that off they are the size of a dinner plate! The tarts are the size of your average cup cake or muffin and have a light flaky crust with a small amount of fruit filling in the bottom then topped off with a plain cheese cake filling, they are quite amazing. They do offer several other things along with a selection of bulk dried goods and baking supplies. I always have a hard time of leaving with anything but boxes of fritters and tarts! When in the area it's definitely worth a visit. read more

Miller's Bakery has been a family favorite for more than a decade now. When my parent's first discovered it on a weekend trip, the road was still dirt and they nearly drove right by the low building and tiny gravel parking lot. Since then, they have paved the road and expanded the seating area to a lovely porch overlooking the valley. And they are still serving the most incredible treats that have been drawing us back to this lovely little bakery for so long. They have the BEST apple fritters I have ever been lucky enough to eat. The cookies are huge and the tarts are unparalleled. For the more... frugal among us, they even have a 'day old' table where you can purchase things that did not sell the day before for a discounted price. Though, fair warning, there isn't usually much on the table because they tend to sell out by afternoon of most everything. Miller's takes the quality of their food seriously and everything they sell on the regular counter is baked that day. They are my favorite stop whenever we take a trip down to Amish Country. Pro Tip: make sure you arrive early as that is when they have the largest selection and everything is still hot! read more

One word...Yum! If you go to Amish country, or even just driving through, you HAVE to go to Miller's Bakery. It's a small little place that's a little hard to find because it's off the beaten path. But it is so worth it. We go solely for the tarts, but the other stuff looks great too. They have the usual, breads, pies, cookies, jams, etc. Now on to these tarts... The tarts are probably the best thing I've ever tasted in my life, and I am seriously not exaggerating. They charge $0.75 each, and $0.80 for the pecan. They have different kinds, such as lemon, cherry, blueberry, strawberry and a couple of others, but the cheese tart is THE best. Go early. They are usually sold out of the tarts (or at least some of the flavors) by afternoon. We actually call ahead and place a special order for tarts when go. You will not be disappointed. And don't forget that just about everything in Amish country, including Miller's Bakery is closed on Sundays. read more

There are no words to describe the wonderment of the cheese tarts! Had I known they were going to be that good I would have bought more! The raisin cookies are roll-your-eyes delicious, and the cinnamon rolls and apple fritters looked awesome, but I had to stop somewhere. Where to start??? Everything is so good, so fresh and homemade. The rye bread is my favorite! Also, the little cheese tarts, I tried the plain and red raspberry, both so perfect! My husband and I drove out to Miller's Bakery to buy bread. We were not disappointed with the taste and quality of the bread! That stuff is TASTY! We were disappointed that we didn't get the bread we wanted but apparently the Amish make a certain number of loaves a day and when it's gone it's gone soo get there early if you want something specific. We settled for Cream Bread and decided that we liked its flavor too. I was a little turned off by the flies on the food but I guess that's to be expected in farm country. read more
