While in town, we wandered in wishing we had already grabbed some baked goods earlier in the day. And with a mission to acquire some meat for the grill later in the day. Immediately we were met with a variety of whoopie pies (we got a traditional one and cookie one, both delicious), and most of all the BEST cinnamon roll we have ever feasted on. Not only was it tremendous but it was perfectly gooey, and the buttercream (or at least that's how it tasted) frosting in lieu of traditional icing blew it out of the water. We also grabbed some chicken bacon burgers which we grilled up and really enjoyed. Just wished the patties were initially bigger. We ended up putting 2 and 2 (out of the 4) together to make burgers which would actually survive the grill. In general the selection is everything you'd imagine in Amish country combined into one little place. Prices were excellent, quality was great. Definitely stop in!

My party of three has always patronized to support local souvenir gift shops as tourists - past and present. Personally, I believe in patronizing brick and mortar local souvenir gift shops drives the local economic tourism. We are non-Pennsylvanians. The souvenir T-shirts are hugely extortionate priced at $19.99. This gift shop reminisce nostalgia of Hallmark stores for mugs, decorative pens, bookmarks, post cards, magnets, pins, printed recipe books, small journals, wall calendar year 2027, et al. The costume jewelry was also hugely extortionate priced $19.99. I freely walked the aisles to browse and circled back. There many home decor items of rural country flair. I purchased one post card of Amish horse buggy with a farm field $0.50, one Pennsylvania shape magnet $1.99, and one lighthouse shape coaster $2.99. I have a small collection of post cards from travels. I actually needed a coaster for my workplace desk as I am currently using a makeshift coaster of my own arts and craft creation. I love lighthouses for the long history, significance, contribution to navy and maritime industry, including aesthetic of nature scenic local landscape emitting a sense of peace. My wife and I ordered the Old World Italian hoagie along with a hot roast beef and gravy grinder that was running as a special. Everything looked fantastic, and we ended up leaving with several packs of house made sausages that were too interesting to pass up, including a chicken crab cake sausage and a brisket cheddar. After a short wait, our subs were ready and they were both absolute units. Since they have a few two tops for the lunch crowd, we did not even make it to the car before digging in. The Old World Italian was exactly what I hoped for. Piled high with Italian meats and cheeses, sharp provolone, roasted red peppers, and prosciutto, all served on a sturdy yet soft seeded roll. The meats were perfectly layered so every bite was balanced and flavorful. No dead spots, no overwhelming salt bombs, just a beautifully constructed hoagie. The hot roast beef grinder was equally impressive. Freshly shaved beef, rich gravy, and melted provolone came together in a way that felt indulgent without being heavy. Comfort food done right.
