I was able to meet the owner; he made sure to greet each guest and make sure they felt welcome; he is nothing short of wonderful! Since it was a chilly night, we only had a few people enjoy the amazing outdoor space they have. I can see that this outdoor space would call to the small group of friends wanting to catch up or the individual that needs to wind down after work and get deeper into that book they have been meaning to spend more time with! I've also heard horror stories coming from employees saying Jared doesn't give attendance points to people he likes and Mike leaves them out to dry when they are understaffed. Things like this can't be happening when the dues we pay are so high and keep getting higher for the same quality of service as it was before. The course is beautiful but hard to play. Normally our trip is after the time change and did catch the course in a seasonal sanding but the conditions of the greens even with sand made for quite a challenge. The rooms are 6 star and the food is comparable. Wine list is excellent and well stocked (no shortage off '07 Silver Oak Cab). Caddies were a new component and not experienced but most of us had played the course so was not an issue. The course has 3 five pars and 3 par 3's on front side. Great course for gamblers and fair to the shorter hitters. Clubhouse is off the charts, locker rooms are the best ever and the staff is not in a hurry or overworked. We were the only foursomes on the course the two days we were there except the A&M golf team. Possibly the best golf/dining/lodging experience ever and certainly anywhere in Texas.

Parking was super easy - right across the street - and was FREE!!! Yup - that is right - NO FEE for parking for a show you are seeing on campus and literally right across the street! There is NO BEER OR BOOZE here so be forewarned. I understand it's a university campus so that might be the reason. Booze up before you head down to your show (or sneak some in, you ninja!). Also only vending machines reside on the first floor with no options for appetizers or wining & dining time. If sitting in the balcony (any of them) you may notice the sound not carrying all the way to your seats. We had a hard time hearing Jerry and the comedian who opened up for him. I wasn't sure if it was the sound system or if it was how far back we were in the top balcony. Either way, it was a struggle to hear some of the jokes in between the audience laughs and any commotion happening near our seats.

The theater itself is older, which adds a lot of charm and character to the experience, though it does come with a few drawbacks. The biggest challenge is the restroom situation--there are only two small restrooms, so a little strategic planning during intermission is helpful if you want to avoid long lines. One thing I really appreciated was the concession pricing. The drinks were very reasonably priced, which was a pleasant surprise compared to many larger venues. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back to enjoy another show in the future.

We just attended their production of Peter & the Star Catcher. The actors did a great job and made…read moreit very entertaining. The reason I only give 3 stars is due to the seating arrangements. It seems someone thought it would be a good idea to have all of the seats on stage. That would be fine, except the tickets I purchased on line indicated I had reserved seats. And, because the system would not allow me to leave a "single" seat, I actually purchased 5 seats even though there were only 4 of us attending the show. Because everyone was seated in the stage, seating was "first come first served". It appeared the friends and family of the cast had a heads up, because they all seemed to sit on the front row. The front row had an advantage due to the amount of the play conducted in the stage floor that was not visible to the rest of the audience. Compounding the viewing issue was the placement of a curtain/barrier that made it even more impossible to see the action on the floor from seating beyond the first row. In short, we enjoyed the show but were very disappointed in how the ticketing and seating was arranged. Had everyone been in the regular seats, there would not have been a need for the barrier and thus it would have been more enjoyable for this family.

I would give 5 stars, but as poster stated above the shows aren't always family friendly. What a shame! For this very reason we haven't attended a show at The Stage Theater for nearly a year. Their productions are seldom family friendly, and there is no good financial reason to produce productions that aren't presentable to everyone. Why marginalize families? The kids of today , and their future families, are your patrons of tomorrow, and you'd best reach them if you can. Plant a seed for the love of theatre in their hearts while they are young, and while they are impressionable. That can't happen if your shows aren't appropriate for their little hearts and minds. To each his own. *We are here at the theatre this very moment, and I'm typing this review during the intermission of A Christmas Carol. What a beautiful production. Bravo!
