This historic venue deserves better historic interior decor. I recognize the current owners didn't make the renovations to the space, but as a single screen venue...it should feel special, distinct and one-of-a-kind experience from front door to lobby to theatre. It doesn't. 2.) The online website and programming of what's on screen is not extra special. First run films are better left to the cineplexes. This space would suit a well-curated art house, classic cinema, and rarely seen films for a large swath of audiences in the Brazos Valley. I live right around the corner and the 50th Anniversary screening of Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon was the first film since their launch (in current iteration)...it was fun to experience on a large screen. 3.) What is unclear from the online presence is that food can be served to your seat. I looked extensively in the sight but this was not evident to me until we arrived. The menu is very pedestrian, burgers, greasy fries and more fried things, and standard salads. Again, nothing special or unique. 4.). Why are tickets for future screenings unavailable since they are already advertised? Also, there was a lot of noise in the lobby during the film and the house lights did not come up after the film concluded. I WANT to support a local one-screen experience Downtown, but how I miss the reopening days of this place when it was diversely curated and a human being sat in the ticket booth to welcome you into the Experience of The Queen. Her uniqueness is not being capitalized upon, regrettably.

Now this place is full of nostalgia--the awkward arcade, the horrible paper towel dispensers, the constant lack of soap in the dispensers, the smell of coconut oil and shoe crust... Seeing the usher at the front always makes me smile. I remember when my friends used to work here and they'd tell me all about how it was a lot of waiting. Being greeted by a teenager is refreshing and takes me way back. Ticket prices remain COMPETITIVE! I got the movie pass and bought tickets for 5 movies for several folks for just over $100. This place is bustling over the holidays and I hope -- just hope they are able to hang on!

I thought this would be less annoying / disruptive than the wait staff walking through the aisles-- it was not. Every time someone went to pick up their food, they had to wade through the seats, which means they will block your view. Then, after they receive their food, the door to the theater slams. It was very loud and disruptive, especially during tense or quiet parts of the movie. swear to god, I counted upwards of 30 door slams. How have yall not ensured that the doors are soft close? How have you not trained your staff to ensure that the door shuts quietly?

In addition to a 25-minute video production about the life of President George H.W. Bush (during which I shed a tear), there are more artifacts here than you can shake a stick at. The guides are quite friendly and knowledgeable, and they are prepared to answer questions. During my visit, there were several original artifacts on display, including FDR's speech on Dec. 8, 1941, and Elvis Presley's original enlistment documents. But those are traveling exhibits. There is plenty of Bush family memoriblia to quench your thirst for some up-close history.

I was in College Station over the weekend for a Texas A&M Class of 1980 Reunion, and part of the agenda was paying this place a visit. The George H. W. Bush Presidential Library complex, located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, includes the Presidential Library and Museum, the Bush School of Government and Public Service, and the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center. My visit included the main Museum, a separate building holding the very cool Union Pacific 4141 Engine and the Marine One Helicopter, and the graves of President Bush, his Wife Barbara, and their Daughter Robin. The later involves a pretty walk around a scenic pond (and rose garden area) and onwards to a gated plot within a quiet woodsy area. If Gayle is reading this, of course I also took a look through the gift shop at the end of my visit. I found the main museum to be nicely curated, in chronological order, and with lots of interesting things to learn and remember. I found that I needed at least a couple passes through to help layer my visit. Of particular note (besides the 4141 and Marine One) were exhibits noting the fall of the Berlin Wall, Camp David, the family boat (Fidelity), and the car that the Bush family drove out to Texas for the first time. There was also a special (and worth visiting) exhibit when I was there Music America: Iconic Objects From America's Music History. Also, please don't miss the 22 minute orientation video when you first start in. I found that it really helped set the stage for what was to come at this museum.

It seems someone thought it would be a good idea to have all of the seats on stage. That would be fine, except the tickets I purchased on line indicated I had reserved seats. And, because the system would not allow me to leave a "single" seat, I actually purchased 5 seats even though there were only 4 of us attending the show. Because everyone was seated in the stage, seating was "first come first served". It appeared the friends and family of the cast had a heads up, because they all seemed to sit on the front row. The front row had an advantage due to the amount of the play conducted in the stage floor that was not visible to the rest of the audience. Compounding the viewing issue was the placement of a curtain/barrier that made it even more impossible to see the action on the floor from seating beyond the first row. In short, we enjoyed the show but were very disappointed in how the ticketing and seating was arranged. Had everyone been in the regular seats, there would not have been a need for the barrier and thus it would have been more enjoyable for this family.

This is a wonderful little theatre, and we try to attend a show each time we are in College Station…read morevisiting our daughter. I would give 5 stars, but as poster stated above the shows aren't always family friendly. What a shame! For this very reason we haven't attended a show at The Stage Theater for nearly a year. Their productions are seldom family friendly, and there is no good financial reason to produce productions that aren't presentable to everyone. Why marginalize families? The kids of today , and their future families, are your patrons of tomorrow, and you'd best reach them if you can. Plant a seed for the love of theatre in their hearts while they are young, and while they are impressionable. That can't happen if your shows aren't appropriate for their little hearts and minds. To each his own. *We are here at the theatre this very moment, and I'm typing this review during the intermission of A Christmas Carol. What a beautiful production. Bravo!
