A true gem in Highland Park. My go to place when I want to buy a gift. Style Shack always has exactly what I am looking for. The store carries unique and unusual things that I have never seen elsewhere. The ladies who work there are always available to show you how to style a scarf in a way that is incredible and totally foreign to me. They have also arranged vases with succulents that I wouldn't have thought of. Gifts that are just truly special and unique to give. I love going there! It's a wonderful place! read more

If you need a gift for someone there's a good chance you'll find something here. I've purchased many candles, picture frames and other home decor for holiday gifts and other occasions. I've also taken my 13 year old daughter here to look for jewelry and she's a big fan of their earrings and necklaces. The prices range, but I'm always able to find something within the range I'm looking for. The staff is also super helpful and always willing to help with a specific idea when I tell them who/what I'm shopping for. read more

Style Shack is an adorable little boutique full of high end (and pretty high priced) items in downtown Highland Park. Right when you walk in, you are hit with amazing smells as the shop is full of beautifully smelling soaps. On Shop Small (Local) Saturday they had a deal of purchase $200 get a $30 gift card. I was thinking holy goodness that's a lot to spend for a reward but it seems that's the norm in this hood. Staff was decent but I got a slight aire of snobbishness when my purchase total was just $30 on a busy day. Hmph! That was from the lady working the register, but the staff on the floor all seemed very friendly and eager to help. Style Shack is packed to the brim of adorable gift items, household things, some scarves and jewelery, just tons of cutesey items. I was able to get some adorable Macaron jewelry boxes for a couple of my friends for Christmas - absolutely the perfect gift as we went to Paris this year and pretty much lived off of macarons, cheese & wine. I also found them to be well priced at just $10 each and that included the most adorable complimentary gift wrap for each. Style Shack truly is a great little shop full of more unique items but be prepared for the hefty prices on some of their items! read more

What's not to love about this shop? Who doesn't adore lovely smelling soaps, brightly colored dishes and home accessories tucked away in every single corner? With so much to see in every nook and cranny, something fabulously odd and silly caught my eye the other day tucked away on a bar cart. It was a collection of olives. But not not your everyday usual salty green olives. I happened to notice an open tasting container, but when I went in for the sample kill, I realized these were made out of chocolate! This is something I've never seen or experienced before. Talk about a funny play on the senses! This is one of my favorite stops in town. There's a little something for everyone at different price points so you can pick up a small hostess gift or opt for a collection of dishware for the home. Regardless, get yourself to this delight of a home accessories store and make room in your schedule, because you'll want to stay for more than just awhile. read more

I absolutely love this little local shop. It is my new go to for gifts. The staff have been very welcoming and helpful during recent visits. They have quite the large range of gift items from candles, pretty soaps, lotions, hostess type housewares, edibles, gloves, scarves and tons of jewelry ranged in price from affordable to splurge worthy. The pricier jewelry items can be found on a case near the front of the shop. I found several cute bracelets that were well priced. They also carry Butter nail polish & cosmetics. Hard to find elsewhere. The complimentary gift wrapping is a nice touch! I stopped in one evening near closing looking for a last minute gift and didn't feel rushed and found the perfect gift. They have unique items at all price levels!! But even better than that, the sales people are super nice and offer to go the extra mile!! We were there on a Sunday and were treated super nice. The ladies working there I believe were Bonnie and Janet, hope I got that right. We were disappointed that something was sold out. First thing Tuesday morning I got a call from Bonnie who was just as excited the item came in as I was!!! Style Shack is my go-to gift store. There is so so much to love about this place- the well priced jewelry, the beautiful table decorations, creative candles and fun home adornments. Today I stopped in looking for a Mother's Day gift for my mom-but walked out with things for myself instead!! Shame on me! I came with a good friend and we had the best time perusing the "goods"-chatting and rushing to show each other our "finds". I usually spend a lot of time looking at the jewelry, but today I spent extra time checking out the beautiful salad bowls and some of the Jonathan Adler items...My daughter came here to get me some JA items for my birthday and I had not realized that they carried his products. Honestly, my two favorite parts of the Style Shack are the owner, who has the most awesome attitude and accent, and the gift wrap. Just wanted to give a shout out to the Style Shack. Located in a quaint store in downtown Highland Park on 2nd street, this boutique is a chic cozy space where one could spend hours (i did) looking at every lovely piece and talking with the lovely owner and her assistant of the day, Renata. Anyways, there is beautiful jewelry that looks like it could be in any upscale jewelry store in a metropolitan city and items for your home that are just as lovely. The gift wrapping is pretty and the return policy more than fair. The nicest part of the experience is that the prices are so reasonable.
