DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! My credit card was stolen in this store on I-day in June 2025. Around 6:45pm after a long and hot day, I went in to make a purchase of waters. After I paid, I packed my bag to go back to the hotel. I went back to the store to get the card when I realized I had left it on the counter. Smallish, but REALLY good selection. They have a wonderful range of high end brands at reasonable pricing. They have a few lower end items, but they clearly are biased twirls top shelf bottles. Today, Christmas Eve my friend and I walked to mills from a local restaurant to get something to take home for the holidays and they were closed. It was very cold and as were were standing outside, calling around for open places locally when the owner unlocked the door noticing us standing out front and clearly cold. She offered to let us in and reset the register to get us what we need so even though they had technically closed hours before. I thank this family business so much for their kindness and willing to go out of their way for someone during the holidays. Best customer service I've had in a while. read more

Wow is all I can say. I have a dear friend staying with her family in Annapolis during this pandemic, and tomorrow is her birthday. I waited far too long to send anything (or so I thought.) Bottom Line: Historic location, lovely displays, friendly service, huge variety of wine and lots of booze and beer goodies too. I had some friends visiting Annapolis for the first time from the West Coast. Of course I had to show them downtown Annapolis because there are so many lovely historic sites, delicious eateries, quaint streets and cute clothing shops. Scratch that. We spent most of our time in Mills Fine Wines & Spirits and its easy to do. This store is just nice. The building is historic and the interior is well organized and aesthetically pleasing. Despite a huge selection, you can easily find what you are looking for thanks to clear labeling and friendly staff. In addition to filling my trunk with a variety of beers (including some gluten free and low-gluten options) and newish Deep Eddy Grapefruit vodka, we found some really cool mixers like Owl's Brew tea. I walked in to look for Copa di vino individualized wine servings (which they didn't have) and stumbled across George and his Maryland based Bloody Mary mix! It's spicy and delicious with lots of goodness- it's almost like you're drinking salsa. These guys gave me a full cup to "taste." Mills, the love child of a retiree happily invested in magic potions, is open, bright, clean and with attitude - the kind of happy and celebratory attitude that comes with... WINE... Beer: A very nice surprise- probably the best beer store in Annapolis. It is a massive wine store with about 90% wine, but in the back corner and in the back walk-in refrigerator room there is a lot of craft beer. You can do a mix-and-match your own six pack thing for $10 no matter what's in it. I had Weyerbacher 15 and Celebrator in one of mine! I actually got three of the mix-and-match packs with a total of 18 different beers I've never tried before! This place also had a bunch of random hard to find large format bottles. Lots of random Belgian stuff I usually don't see in the states. Really a nice surprise. Definitely worth stopping by. The guy let me have a sweet Troeg's glass for free! Whiskey: They stock some impressive bottles with not much markup on special releases. I was able to find a bottle of Arbeg 1990 Ardbeg Airigh Nam Beist, which is all but extinct. I wanted to get a bottle of champagne for a client's birthday in Annapolis without having to make the 1 hour drive myself. So I thought, why not call and see if a local wine/liquor shop would be kind enough to do so. After getting the cold shoulder on my first call to a location in Annapolis, I reached Mills Wine and Spirit Mart. A very friendly gentleman picked up the phone and unhesitatingly agreed. Said that it was close by and he could drop it off no problem. Now that is service :D! In addition, I asked for some recommendations and was pointed towards two delicious, but very different brews from two different breweries. I was always impressed with the French wine collection at Mills Wine and Spirit. It was great to visit the store after so long. I took my friends over to show them what I meant, the ones who knew French wines were very impressed with what they had at the store. With regions like Pauillac to Pommerol to Chateau Neuf Du Pape to Hermitage to Bandol. There were $200 bottles of Sauternes or Bordeaux just sitting on the racks. It was wine porn for me. They also had a great selection of German, Australian and South African wines. For the fourth of July they ran a special on French wine, buy one bottle and get the other half off. I guessed I got too carried away but I was happy with two bottles of 2005 Domaine Grand Veneur Chateau Neuf Du Pape and two bottles of 2005 Domaine de L'Hermitage Bandol. read more

This is one of the better wine stores in Annapolis. The selection is broad, and more importantly, the help is just that--helpful. And knowledgeable. If you're having a dinner party, tell them what you're having and they'll match you with a bottle of wine (or several). If you're looking for something, describe what you want and they'll hand you a great one that matches everything you are looking for. They have a great selection in all price ranges--they are a little pricey, but if you either dont' know what you're looking for, or want something outside of the usual ones that every liquor store carries (Yellowtail, Alice White, Kendall Jackson. I was visiting Annapolis for the day and wanted to stop in here to find a good bottle of wine. They had a lot of variety and the layout of the different types were well marked. They had good wine for a low price or you could fine some for a hundred plus if you really wanted. I want to like this place but I don't think I should give a good review just because I'm grateful a store exists in downtown Annapolis that sells wine. I went in today and experienced no service, no friendliness from staff, who were all gathered together talking and chatting. It's a slow day - that's fine - but can we at least muster a smile or hello when I come to the counter to pay? Also, I began to ask the salesperson - perhaps the owner? - about the sale signs and was interrupted - "The sale is this weekend." I really hate being interrupted. Also -why are there sale signs up now when the sale isn't until the weekend? Good thing I didn't pick any sale wines. By the way, on a previous visit I asked if they have Soave and was given a blank look. When they located it for me they just left - no suggestions, no conversation. So I haven't experienced the helpfulness and expertise other yelpers mention, at least so far. The place is cluttered and dusty and the layout is confusing. I think I'll take my business over to Bin201 where at least they pretend to be friendly and there are no signs saying, "Don't come into this section if you are carrying a bag." Seriously? read more

I struggled to find respectable hefeweizen, but they had several varieties that I was able to personalize. The price was a little high, but it's about right for imported or micro brews. Jen and the entire team at Mills Fine Wine made my wedding weekend so easy. We chose them off a recommendation from our caterer, Barb Duvall at Bowl of Cherries, because she said she had great experiences with them. She was very right! They responded promptly to emails and picked up every time I called, which was very important as a long-distance bride. We changed our order no fewer than six times, and every time, they were prompt and polite about it. We even went into the store to look at some of their selection (two days before the wedding), and they walked us through all of it and offered some suggestions for drinks for the bridal party on the bus (mini prosecco in a can with a straw - what's not to love??). Their suggested amounts and types of drinks were spot-on, and they delivered everything to the venue chilled. The wines & beers they picked were really good, very reasonably priced, and perfect for Annapolis in August. We even used them for our rehearsal dinner the night before. We were going to pick up drinks ourselves for that, since it was a picnic at a local house, but then compared prices and realized how competitive they were with the local liquor store - and you can't beat the service of getting everything delivered, ready-to-drink! I highly, highly recommend using Mills for all of your drink deliveries - and even stop by their store! I wish we were local, we'd go in for all of their tasting nights and fun events! read more

Great local spot! They recently change ownership but the new owners sent out emails to those subscribed to their listing they plan on making a few changes to the tastings schedule and selections. This store has been a great local spot for years and I think it will continue to be. Great selections and knowledgeable staff.
