I initially went to another location closer to campus and it was dirty, packed and slow. I left. I also didn't use the AU clinic b/c of the bad comments regarding giving patients the antibiotics they needed. I knew I needed antibiotics and could not wait any longer as I had been sick for 5 days and using OTC meds already. Can't chance it. All to say, that the Nurse Practitioner that treated me was efficient, gave me a head to toe exam listened carefully to My symptoms and have me 3 tests immediately who's results were ready in 5 to 10 mins. Through and nose cultures and a small blood test. This was even better than the care I get from My family physician in MD!!!! I was thrilled! I received a painless prednisone shot, antibiotics and cough syrup script. All were sent to the CVS in the same shopping Ctr. And within an hr I was finished and on my way to the hotel to recover. The meds and shot worked immediately and I felt so much better Taht day and the following. I am on my way home to MD now and cannot say enough about this incredible facility and the people who cared for me. My daughter will be a new student here this fall and I leave not only feeling better but, reassured that she can get the same wonderful treatment for any minor illnesses she may need at this Urgent Care. Anyway, we made our way over and I must say that the entire staff from the receptionist to the nurse practitioner and to our tech everyone was very professional and polite. Our NP Melanie Price was excellent and professional. Our tech was also very sweet and concerned for my daughter's well being. We were in and out in less than an hour, and I really appreciated everything they did to help my daughter. I would highly recommend Stopwatch Urgent Care if you need medical care in the Opelika/Auburn area. The big plus is that they wrote a prescription for my daughter and we went over to the Publix market to pick it up. Publix is in the same shopping center so it was very convenient.

This one will see children under 2 which is very rare for an urgent care, HOWEVER it has consistently been the worst experience of my life so far. After waiting for 4 hours with two sick children I found the physician abrasive and insulted every time I tried to inquire about anything. If I offered other advice (IE: my child only has one kidney and so I have to be careful what medications he is prescribed) the doctor seemed offended that I was questioning him. Both times he has prescribed the wrong dosages for medications and I cleared this both times with my pediatrician over the phone and he said he had given them way to much of one thing and then also a steroid which is not good for young babies to take. Be advised do not take young children here, it has been a terrible experience both times.

I even had to ask for a URI test. Having almost died in 2021 from SARS pneumonia & having an URI last year, I know my body better than anyone! She just didn't want to be bothered. If you've been running a fever with chills, blowing enough out of your head to float a battleship, your cough sounds like a freight train when you're able to cough, & you know there's fluid retention....don't tell me to go to ER or a PCP! My "normal" temp is lower than average, but the temp taken today was above that, which meant I had a low-grade fever. Nothing asked or said! My blood pressure was pretty high. Again, nothing asked or said! I tried calling the clinic 3 times at 6:15pm, got your AI and was told each time I was being transferred to a team member....only to be hung up on each time. I finally had to call CVS Pharmacy to verify her name & researched her position. This was my first experience with Opelika medical care and if she's an example, pardon my language but she's a piss-poor one maybe I need to move elsewhere! Regardless, I won't be back & may pursue additional action. Update: Two days later and no word as to test results.
