    Lamb Chop

One of our best stops for dinner in Dublin! The clam chowder was fantastic. For dinner my husband loved the lamb and the Guinness stew was amazing! Best part? It's affordable. You don't feel like you are getting ripped off just because you are a tourist.

On the busy streets of Dame, we passed by and wanted to try this spot as we were leaving the Trinity College. It was tucked in among many food and attraction places but it still stood out to us as a unique place of its own. Inside had a rustic feel and though not spacious was warm and inviting and gave an at home feeling. We were seated in a corner close to the bar and stairs at a table of 2. Our server was very friendly . I thought it was great how they served us sparkling water and distilled water in large glass containers that we could pour into our glass cups. We decided to try the Stuffed Yorkshire Pudding which had a nice mix of cut beef pieces with mushrooms and onions in a creamy sauce inside a bread like bowl. And it came with a mix spring salad. Very tasty. We also tried the slow roasted Wicklow lamb shank and it was melt in your mouth good. So juicy and I enjoyed it with the mash potatoes and gravy. There was also some beets and carrots on the side. This was a lovely little spot.

Wonderful restaurant with a separate Celiac friendly menu. My husband and I split the gluten free seafood chowder and the gluten free fish and chips and it was delicious. The portion size for the fish was big. We came on a Thursday night and didn't have a reservation but we were seated quickly - we just ended up sitting upstairs versus downstairs. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was more of a darker, cozier feel with lots of artwork on the walls - really lovely experience.

While walking around Dublin we came across The Millstone. After taking a peak at the menu we decided to give it a go. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Niki ordered an Aspell cider, a favorite on this trip. I ordered a stout which I prefer while in the UK. For lunch I ordered the Irish Seafood Chowder and Guinness beef Stew and Niki ordered the steak sandwich with fries. Our order was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. The chowder was creamy and packed with seafood. I had a few chowder on this trip and this was my favorite, simply delicious. The beef and Guinness Stew was topped with a pillow of mashed potato and toast. The Guinness shines through in this Stew which is seldom the case and very welcome since it adds a deeper dimension to this lovely beefy dish. I am happy tonreport that Niki enjoyed her beef sandwich very much. I would highly suggest when in the area to give this restaurant a try. Staff, food, and drink are all exceptional here.

We stopped in there during our day as they advertised a Michelin on the restaurant, so we made a reservation. The people here are rude, we made reservations and they have our table to other people. They tried to cram Im us into a area where they had a big party starting, we waited for quite some time and not a single person came to even take a drink order. The big party showed up and they just started to cater to them and ignore us. After a while more- we just got up to leave and they were indignant towards us. Save yourself the trouble and pick another place that not only honors reservations but treats customers with respect. There cannot be any way a place like this has a rating when they cannot treat or handle their customers with honor or respect. Don't waste your time there.

Visiting Ireland was a blast, and this was our welcome dinner that consisted of so much yummy food, including dessert! The staff was so friendly (I am now friends with one of the servers) and the food was well seasoned. A good amount of options all around that fit a lot of different diets and kept us very full. I had the crispy calamari as a starter and they do not skimp on the squid, they were the size of onion rings and were covered in the perfect amount of breadcrumbs. For my entree, I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly. We also can't forget about dessert! The crème brûlèe was smooth and creamy. Definitely a spot to visit when in Dublin!

We chose this place because they offer a full GF menu and split two starters and two mains - toast, the salmon and the tofu steak. We each got the mocktail, a sunset curve which was delightfully presented. The service was great. Being from the Pacific Northwest, we were initially skeptical about the salmon, but ultimately it was our favorite. Definitely a good choice for the main meal while exploring Dublin for the day.

The millstone has come recommended to us and while we didn't have a reservation, the millstone seated us almost right away. Loved the decor! Very pretty, vintage feel! I had looked up the menu before we went and they had some vegetarian options (something most steakhouses in the US don't have). I ordered the tomato soup and crostinis. My husband ordered the steak. He hasn't stopped talking about the steak since we had dinner. He said it was like slicing through butter and so flavorful. Had it been entirely up to him, we would have had dinner here every night. In fact, when we were in London, he contemplated flying back to Dublin just for the steak. In case you are wondering about the mom steak elements, my food was also really good. The soup was delicious as were my crostinis. The next time we are in Dublin, we'll be back. And you can bet, my husband will be sending our friends here as well.

If you're hesitant about booking the restaurant- just do it... you won't be disappointed!! Our meal was exceptional- very reasonable prices too! Excellent presentation and taste. The peppercorn sauces is to die for! Do yourself a favor and have dessert as well.

    Vegetarian lasange
    Annie L.

I got the vegetarian lasagna which was good but not as good as my Mam's take on it - I will make it for you someday. The guy playing the keyboard was a fun tacky touch, good singer... He pretty much made it through most of the Beatles tunes by the time we finished our meal. I thought it was a tad pricey even though I wasn't paying. Roughly €15 and that did not include sides. Service was great but I felt we were asked too many times was everything OK and whether we wanted dessert etc. Would I go back? I don't know the building and atmosphere is nice but I feel I can get better value and bigger portions in other places.

The spot is located up a literal winding staircase that takes you into an inviting room that boasts a lovely view of the river below. We didn't go to the third floor, but I can imagine it was equally lovely. They've got an impressive wine list and a moderate beer list that's predominantly bottle. Interestingly they don't have spirits so the mixed drinks are wine cocktails - boss! I tried a white port and tonic drink - seriously next level! I don't often find wine cocktails and even more rarely are they really good! The menu is impressive and seasonal, save the potted crab and haddock, which are on all the time. It should be know for any who dine with our crew, that we share a lot, so everything we had was enjoyed by all 5 of us. The crab was unbelievable! Creamy, flavorful, magical. The beef cheek and fish plate were also perfect for sharing. We also had two scotch eggs - these could have a Klondike bar (look it up youngins!) like marketing campaign! We shared the Haddock and the Pigs on Green Port Tenderloin. Both were awesome, with the Haddock more memorable. We haven't had such delicious mashed fish since Iceland and the cheddar mash and onions were the perfect accoutrement! The chocolate fondant was delicious and the bread and butter bread pudding was life changing. The whiskey sauce is something I'd swim in if given the chance! It was lick the plate good. The service was spot on and we got out of there for about €50 a person, full and happy! The whole evening was excellent and this place definitely deserves the accolades. This is evident by the name drop of some producers in each dish. My family was able to try a scotch egg for the first time, some beef cheek, crab and a charcuterie board with meats from Cork. Our server walked us through this experience with ease and we all couldn't be happier with our time here, especially for a Sunday afternoon when it could have been a lot louder and chaotic.

There a Cajun influence to the chef's palate. The seafood chowder is a red chowder, a little spicy, and light. It's of course chock full of fish. The corn bread served with the soup is unique. I asked and the chef flavors the bread with Cajun spices. It's excellent. My wife chose the goats cheese salad. The pastry they held the salad and cheese was so delicate. Our entrees included the beef that melted in your mouth. It's served rare and it's totally tender. The sea bass was also excellent. It's served of the bone with mussels, brocholini in a curry based sauce. It was a very generous portion. The potatoes served with the dishes were great. My wife had a tawny port and I chose the cider-see pic. It was delicious and refreshing. We didn't enjoy dessert and so I can't comment. I highly recommend this place!

Usually, the dining room comprises an underground hideaway that is quite sleek and intimate. However, due to the lockdown measures, we had to do outdoor seating directly on William Street while we were there. The experience was still beautiful, thanks to the surrounding scenery. The cocktails were grand between the P61 Signature Cocktail and the Hugo -- both prosecco-based cocktails. The former was delicious between the peach puree and prosecco, while the latter was a little more tart with the elderflower cordial. For dinner, we kicked things off with gluten-free bread with a trio of dips that were quite tasty. The Tortellini I ordered was exquisite and scrumptious with how it was prepared between the goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, wilted spinach, cream sauce, and bacon. I applauded this lovely dish with the last bite. I devoured the warm almond flour brownie for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and gelato, which my wife could also enjoy since the dish was gluten-free. What a beautiful event!…read more i've noticed events like this creep up in popularity around Dublin and isn't it a richer place for it. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's nights like this that instill in you a pride in being Irish, and a pride in our past, present and future. Honestly there were some parts that gave me goosebumps, the type I get every now and again when I'm wandering around the city and realise that after eight years away, I can honestly say there is no place in the world I would rather live right now. It's hard to decide what the highlight is. I won't go into massive detail as those before have, but allow me to point out the bones of what makes this into such a gorgeous way to spend a Saturday; - The setting. Old Georgian wooden stairs that are worn down in the middle by hundreds of years of stepping on them, the old crumbling cornicing, the candle lit old antique tables. - The food. Each course was a perfect size, and the perfect representation of modern x traditional Irish cuisine. Quality ingredients, beautifully presented - The talks in between courses by food historian Máirtín Mac Con Iomaire. Funny, informative, nostalgic, and funny again. If you didn't pick up on it already, I would highly recommend this as a night out. For any age, those who live here and are visiting, those who grew up here and those that are now making Ireland their home.

Our host for the evening was awesome, lots of banter and amazing stories. It was really captivating and enjoyable hearing him speak, since and recite poems between courses. Everything was linked back to the food which was just as amazing - traditional Irish scran but served up a bit fancier than normal. Kind of like if your Mum went to a class to learn how to plate her Sunday meals in a nice way? I really enjoyed the food and only the main needed more sauce but they happily delivered us some. Yum. What a fabulous evening, this was a beautiful way to experience Dublin in all its glory.
