My 100th First to Review!…read more I always find it somewhat awkward reviewing medical professionals... from doctors to dentists, therapists and the like, the unique relationship formed between specialists and their patients seem a strange thing to attach a review to. In any case, the scenario is easier when you have only good things to report. Over the years I have had to switch primary physicians a number of times. Since having left my pediatrician for obvious reasons, insurance changes have forced these necessary adjustments. Fortunately, these exchanges have led me to Dr. Michael Campbell's care. Dr. Campbell is an energetic, knowledgeable, and personable physician practicing Family and Internal Medicine in Fall River, MA. A 2001 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, this physician works out of Millview Medical Associates and is affiliated with several surrounding medical establishments. As a healthcare professional myself, it is sometimes difficult to find a physician who will treat you like a patient. What I mean by that is many physicians expect and assume that you know everything there is to know about certain conditions, lab work findings, and medications. This is not the case with Dr. Campbell. He takes the time to willingly review and explain concepts that though familiar to me, are a nice reminder, refresher, or lesson when it comes to my own life. I can only imagine this service is enhanced for those lacking a medical background. He never appears to be in a rush with appointments and don't let this statement fool you... I usually only have to wait about 15 minutes to be called into an examine room. I always feel as though my statements and concerns are heard thoroughly and options in care carefully weighed between the benefits, risks, and what would work best for me individually. It's nice to feel as though you have a working and collaborative relationship with your physician. If you are looking for a primary care physician and he is available to accept new patients, I highly recommend Dr. Campbell for your overall health needs.

I don't normally write reviews for doctors but my experience this week needs to be shared. I've…read morebeen seeing Dr. Cynthia Rodrigues at this practice for around eight years. I came to her in desperation. I had been extremely sick with some type of respiratory illness for a month, on high doses of prednisone, had taken courses of a few different antibiotics and had been placed on a bunch of different asthma drugs. I continued to be in and out of my primary doctor's office and the ER for breathing treatments. Every time we tried to taper off the prednisone I ended up in the ER. Dr. Rodrigues ordered a bunch of tests, changed up my medication and figured out what was wrong with me. I've seen her twice a year ever since. I've never had to wait longer than ten minutes in the waiting room to be seen. That's unheard of. I had an appointment yesterday. The day before the office advised me that she had a meeting and may be running slightly late and gave me the option to reschedule to later that afternoon. What doctor's office does that??? I decided to take my chances as my husband and I had plans for the afternoon. I waited about a half hour to see Dr. Rodrigues and she apologized profusely when she arrived. I've waited much longer at other offices with no heads up and no apologies. If you are asthmatic, like I am, starting on an antibiotic as soon as you feel a cold start to go into your chest is the difference between a common cold and bronchtis. Instead of worrying about being able to charge me for an office visit, Dr. Rodrigues will give me a prescription for Z-Pac to have on hand at the start of the cold and flu season it has saved me a few times when I've come down with a nasty cold over the weekend. She's also generous with free samples of the medications she prescribes. This practice is located in Truesdale Clinic and parking is a bitch. That's all there is to it. There is additional parking behind the building or you can use the valet service. If you have respiratory issues, it would be well worth your time to pay a visit to this office.

I recently had a very negative experience where Dr. Brillantes called me and berated me (after seeking medical support through MyChart) because I hadn't seen him in the office in a few years. I have been to the office many times for physicals and support and have always had better luck with the NPs in terms of scheduling times that worked for me and also in terms of the medical support I needed. He hung up on me on the phone and I have since started looking for a new PCP who can support my needs.

Dr. Brillantes has been my Primary Care Physician for over 20 years…read more I have had no issues with his handling of my healthcare and he has monitored all my conditions very professionally. I had back surgery over five years ago for a degenerative disc and have been on a clinical regimen of pain killers for the entire period. During my last visit I signed the pain agreement for this medication. Dr. Brillantes decided to start to discontinue my pain meds, no reason, in fact he had never discussed my pain situation with me during any of my 6 month visits. I am 69 years old and my pain medication (taken religiously) allows me to enjoy normal activities like lawn care, a part time job, etc. etc. The Doctor has reduced my pain medication while not referring me to a pain management program as I have asked repeatedly. This is a ongoing problem with senior citizens now being refused pain medication, its like your Doctor works for the Drug Enforcement Agency! This situation is serious and is being addressed on a State and Federal level. WATCH out If you are on pain meds, demand a referral to a pain management group or else your ability to perform your normal activities and enjoy a relatively pain free existence will be challenged. I am pursuing legal and medical board review of my situation.
