I wanted to give a five star review for Manny. He was so helpful to my son to sew his buttons on his coat. This was part of his uniform and a coat that my son treasures and treats with great dignity and respect when he volunteers at the prayers house everyday. When I spoke to Manny and explained to him, he was so caring and said that he will help my son and he will do it nicely for him. He did such a great job and in great time. Our son was so happy!!! Saturday, I finally took a couple of pants that I had to get altered. I've had these jeans for MONTHS and I haven't been able to wear them because they were too long. I searched long and hard for a reasonable place to get them altered at, and I finally decided on this place called "Milpitas Alteration Center" - They had good reviews on yelp, so I figured... what the heck, let's try this place. When I first arrived there, the owner didn't seem too pleasant. Well, to me anyway. I brought some other pants of mine with the correct length, so he just compared that with the jeans I brought in to get altered, and that was that. To be such a small business you would think that they'd be HAPPY to see customers. I failed to ask the cost, because I had assumed it was $6 (someone had mentioned that on their review) When I picked it up I was very disappointed to see that I was getting charged $10 for each pants that I brought in. I felt some what rushed, I got there at 6pm their closing time BUT on the same note... be glad I'm using your service damnit. I wish these owners were a bit more friendlier with new customers, so that we would WANT to come back and use their service. Anyway... as far as the finished product goes... it was good. On both jeans I got altered, I asked for the original hem, and that's just what I got. It came out just fine. When I wear them they look fabulous. Their work was acceptable, but I'm not sure if i'll be back here in the future. I'm still in search for the perfect place to bring all my clothes to. Customer service & all. read more

Great place! So glad I found a place in my neighborhood. I needed to get a bridesmaid dress altered. The owner was nice enough and the alternation only required a hook - a very simple fix. This guy is my go-to tailor. My dad has always brought his things here, and now I do also. I had been looking everywhere for a specific Warriors jersey but I could only find it in XL mens so he altered it to fit me like a women's medium. He even adjusted all the sewn on logo's to make it look right. He get's things done in a good amount of time and will even bump it up a day or two, no charge, if you need it by a certain day. read more

A one-man shop. I wanted to like the guy - he reminds me of our family business in the old days. Gave him a brand-new shirt to alter. It came back with black strings all over. It must dropped to the ground or something. The guy didn't even bother to brush off any of the debris. Collected his money and not even a thank-you to me. Quality looks good and price was lower, but the whole experience could have been better. 2 stars in the hope it will make him get better in the customer experience dept. read more

I figured I might as well bring in some of my pants that are huge on me now due to my recent 45 lbs of weight loss for alteration. I kind of see where some people say on reviews that he comes off rude/mean, but I think he's just the reserved quiet type. I was able to pick it up after 2-3 days, which was reasonable to me. Simply AWESOME! I found the perfect leather jacket at the Great Mall, but the sleeves were a bit long, and it had a zipper on each cuff. The store recommended I take it to Milpitas Alteration Center to get it adjusted - anything to make the sale, right? This was a very difficult task since you have to take the zippers off then alter it. Manny at this shop made a valiant effort to meticulously bring the sleeves up. It took a while, but Manny made the sleeves perfect for me. I'll definitely be bringing more stuff to him in the future with a promise it won't be as painful as this jacket. His pricing is very reasonable. Definitely recommend him as your clothing alterations expert. read more

My first review on yelp. I was looking for a new place for altering my pants as the old place I used to go changed hands. When I went for the first time I was told $6 for pants and $10 for jeans which is quite nice price wise. I gave one pant and it was done the next day. Very happy with the service and quality seemed nice to me. Well worth $6. After couple of days I wanted to alter couple of my jeans but was surprised to find the price for original hem was $14. I thought it was like $10, maybe I heard wrong the first time. It was the same gentleman who I talked to the very first time. I gave one for alternation to see how well it was done. The orginal hem was cut and then sewed back. I don't know how the original hem is done but I know my previous place did them in such a way that the jeans looked like they were bought the correct length to beging with. In this case the hem part seemed a little off from being cut off and sewed back in. And $14 is high for that. Looking at the prices here it seems some folks are paying $10 or even lower. Not sure why this price differences. So for regular pants I will use this place but will be looking for a new place for getting original hem on jeans. read more

I am so glad I found this place! It is in the corner of the shopping center where Party City is. I yelped this place after I had gone to two alteration places and they were unable to fix my swimsuit bottom. Third time is a charm! I came here and the owner seemed pretty busy. He came to help me and easily told me that he could fix it. He wasn't too friendly but I was pleased that he would have it done in less than a week. When I came back to pick up my swimsuit bottom, he easily remembered who I was. I was very satisfied with the end product and I will definitely consider this place again in the future. read more

Gave 2 sports jacket and came back after a week to pick them up.... Both the jackets sleeves were uneven after the fitting modifications, and one was not sewed close. Luckily tried it on the spot and notified the tailor. He fixed one jacket on the spot, as I required one for an event, and left one for pick up later down the week. One jacket lived through it and looks but the other wasn't so lucky. Guess it was a hit and trial tailoring method. For the quality received it was too expensive. read more

Excellent service, fair price and reasonable turnaround. I am short and curvy, and that means that trousers need hemming before they fit. Often I need waists taken in as well. Manny did a great job, hemmed jeans and kept the original makers hem. He did magic on my elastic waist trousers, took the waist in without cutting the elastic. Invisible alteration and keeps the structure of the clothing strong so it won't be weakened by the work. He knows what he is doing! Highly recommended. read more

They overcharge! Ripped me off with a couple of pants i want cut a few inches off the seam. I came at 10 am and wanted to pick it up later in the afternoon and the guy charged me double because it's "rush". My mother was a seamstress so i know that the kind of service i want is super quick and easy. I come here all the time and this is the first time i wanted it done the day itself. Manny had done a immaculate zipper repair job to an old jacket of mines last November 2017.

This was literally one of the worst experiences EVER. The man who works there (I have not seen anyone but him) was rude and incompetent. My bridesmaids dress was butchered. He charged me a large sum of money and I had to go and pay even more than he charged to simply fix the mistakes he made. When I asked for a refund he refused and yelled at me. NEVER go here and tell everyone you know and care about to not go there if they want their clothes to look decent. read more

First time at this place based on the good reviews too have my new fine slacks hemmed/shortened and to have the seat area of the pants loosened. The hemming of the pants was great but the seat area of the pants was completely done wrong and the quality of the stitching to rebuild seat area the pants was very shroudy. I would not recommend this place if you need to have anything done except to hem some pants. The price was good but the quality is just ok. read more
