I was looking for a fun non-beach outdoor activity and discovered this playground only a few minutes away from our rental. When I got there I was so happy to see that a large portion of the playground was shaded. There is a huge playground area, a big gazebo with a book rental box, baby swings, tunnels to crawl through and a sandbox with a ton of toys. There is also a large clean bathroom with a changing table. Overall, it was the perfect park and my daughter had a really good time. I'm grateful that we found it! If you are in Dewey with kiddos and need a break from the beach this worth hitting up.

Visited Kiwanis Park this week after beach time at Higbee. My son needed play time to run out some energy because he is still getting used to the beach and it's not his favorite right now, much to my dismay. Kiwanis made my toddler's day! He had a ball on the playstructure, swings, and just running around on the lawn. He loved watching the fountain in the pond, which I was happy to see still running in November. The posted rules say dogs aren't allowed, but various locals were walking their dogs all through this park. The park isn't huge, definitely no walking trail or means of real exercise, except for the basketball court, which is a half-court size. For leisure, picnicking, playground, etc. it is a great space, cuted up with the pond view. Private parking lot is down Leroy's way, the small lane at the entrance.

There is street parking or a lot parking available. I do recall one year due to the Marlin tournament. Parking was difficult and we did park a few blocks away. Overall the walk was not bad and it was well worth it. I recommend bringing chairs or a blanket. If you plan to stay a while. On Sundays, they have a live band, ice cream for purchase, a playground, pond, and lots of open grass for family and friends to enjoy. Everyone's favorite part is the Sunday fireworks show. The show is great! We will continue to add this park to our Sunday fun day while in Ocean City.

I figured it would be more of a kids place, to be honest, but I will say it's definitely not. Don't get me wrong - kids will LOVE IT, but so will adults. The lazy river was a favorite. Takes about 20 or so minutes to make it around and when the waves are turned on, it adds a bit of excitement that you can feel on the "ride". There are about 6 or so other water slides that range from single rider to double (if you want) or even one ride up to 5 people. In addition, they also have mini golf and bumper boats (we didn't see anyone on either) for an additional cost. Food stand is located on the park and you can buy cold drinks and food there. Locker rentals (small and large) are on-site. We picked the large locker at $10 for the day rental and you can select a code to open/close the locker at will for the day which is nice as it's not a one-time only locker. They also have a small arcade as well as a beach volleyball set up. It was a great time! Adult prices were $38 for the day.

We're staying over in Dewey…read moreBeach so we biked over to this trail having no clue what to expect and having never stayed down here before. These trails are super nice and very easy to Bike. It was an absolute joy. I would've recommend this to anyone. Even the trails that were rocky that go outback through the woods we did on a street bike no problem. They seem to be very well-maintained trails. At one point you had the super long bridge that goes over a swampy area, which is really cool too. On the way up on the trail, we saw a turtle crossing the trail on the way back. We saw but I assume is the same turtle taking a hole with his back legs. I don't know why I spent my whole life going to the Jersey shore. You drive an extra hour. You could come down here and have a super nice beach that's not packed and the super nice trails that you can bicycle too.
