I absolutely loved this little town! Such a beautiful beach town with a wonderful vibe. They have great stores, a wonderful beach and delicious restaurants. People are very nice there, too!

Fantastic place to visit. Great atmosphere, great beach, lots of food and shopping options. Really enjoyed our time here!

BEWARE OF UNFAIR FINES: The town places misleading parking signs at the entrance of parking lots. As you can see from the photo, the two signs at this parking lot on 3rd and Atlantic have conflicting information. From the street, motorists see the sign directly in front of them which clearly states that they can pay to park 10-4pm. This sign is located about 12 feet from the parking meter, which is, in turn, located inside the parking lot. Yet, an identical sign in size and color states that it is prohibited. Unfortunately, I only read the sign in my line of view from the road. I paid $5 to park for 2 hours and received a $40 fine for parking in an area that was only for permit parking. I appealed the ticket, but I was still cited "Guilty as Fined" because the second sign was inside the parking lot whereas the first sign was adjacent to it. I am all for the enforcement of traffic laws, but I feel this is a deliberate attempt to confuse people. I have money to pay, but appealed because this is especially hurtful to people who cannot afford such expenses. As you can see from the reviews below, I am not the only one who has had issues with parking in this town. It seems it is a major source of revenue from the town.

Very cute beach town only a ten minute drive from Dewey and another fifteen south to Ocean City, Maryland. We only came for dinner but this little enclave is definitely a bit more classy than the others along Coastal Highway. I wish I'd had more time to explore here. Just driving through I know it's on my list to visit once again.

Love it. Wish we stayed in town instead of 4 miles up the highway. Bethany is all about the families, families, families. Singles should go elsewhere Parking is worse here than in Rehoboth or OC. And expensive! Movies on the beach every Mon night. I like going to into Bethany for clean fun and early morning walks. Very peaceful place before 10am and the parking is free at that time :)

Love Bethany beach boardwalk and shops. The area is chock full of coastal touristy stores and trendy food places. The beach can get pretty crowded so finding an alternate beach may be another option depending upon the crowds. It is crowded for a reason! Very trendy and cute.

What can I say other than FAMILY FRIENDLY, lovely town and beaches? Visit often. Enjoy!!

Returned to Bethany and Rehoboth Beach last week and it's still fabulous. I'm ready to SELL IT ALL and become a beach bum!

It's clean, GREAT for families, and far classier than your options down the highway: Ocean City and Fenwick Island.

I parked and spent about 20 minutes enjoying the beach and the sunshine. The beach is beautiful. No trash, firm sand and a smooth include down into the water. The waves were pretty calm today which was good because I did not spot any lifeguards on duty. A great spot to spend some time at the ocean. [Review 18162 overall - 84 in Delaware - 1684 of 2022.]

By the time we got here the facilities up front were closed so I have no idea what was available sans for restrooms and an outdoor shower. According to the website, shower and changing facilities are available, along with a food concession, chair & umbrella rentals, even a Mobi-Mat which allows wheelchairs to be pushed onto the beach (such a great idea). The sandy area is very wide and stretches for 3 miles with zero shady spots or trees. Lifeguards were gone for the day with their stands turned upside down. I noticed some vehicles actually parked on the beach near the northern end, a very cool perk that is not allowed back home. Ocean conditions were fairly calm but most folks were in waist-high water at most. OVERALL: Spacious real estate, but coming from Hawaii, my expectations are set too high, LOL.

In the winter months, the beach is dog-friendly and offers free parking. The shallow and calm water on the bayside is safe for young kids (ages 2-8 years). Easy to get to beach. Shallow calm water. There are many families and children (mid August 2024) and it was peaceful and chill. Clean gendered public toilets and outdoor shower if you need. Friendly life guards on duty. Lifeguard Trent was just wonderful to chat with and watch him help others with kindness and care. The Cape May ferry terminal is near and the ferry comes and goes. The Lion's club hosts a stand that rents umbrellas, rafts and other beach gear. They also sell hotdogs, pizza, icees and snacks. I had strawberry-lemon which was refreshingly perfect. Beyond-the-call-of-duty Lifeguard update! These pushy women sat beneath the lifeguard chair and after asking where the rental shack is about 10 times and being told--they said they couldn't walk there (it's not far) to get an umbrella. They whined and whined. Trent took the umbrella down from the lifeguard chair and set it up for them to use!!! So so generous of you Trent! I highly recommend this beach if you're looking for ease. Parking likely easier earlier in the day. I beached til evening!
