For the past few years, we've traveled to Ocean City, Maryland and arrive on Sundays. Our Sunday itinerary always consists of coming to this park for their "Sundeas in the park ". There is street parking or a lot parking available. I do recall one year due to the Marlin tournament. Parking was difficult and we did park a few blocks away. Overall the walk was not bad and it was well worth it. I recommend bringing chairs or a blanket. If you plan to stay a while. On Sundays, they have a live band, ice cream for purchase, a playground, pond, and lots of open grass for family and friends to enjoy. Everyone's favorite part is the Sunday fireworks show. The show is great! We will continue to add this park to our Sunday fun day while in Ocean City. read more

Always something fun going on here--whether it is concerts in the summer or the Christmas light walk through display in the winter. Last weekend, we came to Sundaes in the Park. The line for sundaes was really, really long--so we skipped that part. But the band was great. There is a huge lawn so there is plenty of space to accommodate a lot of people. The Sunday night fireworks display was great and probably lasted about 15 minutes. It was a great, family friendly activity! read more

This is a top notch park, playground, ball field, concert space, outdoor gym, fishing pier, sightseeing pier, kayak rental, paddle board rental... pretty sure they also had a snack bar and bathrooms, though it was later when we were there so it seemed closed... what doesn't this place have!? We found this spot and visited three or four times during our stay at the beach. Our kids are young, so they really enjoyed the playground which has sections for all ages (2-12 at least!), plus we REALLY enjoyed strolling down the lengthy pier at sunset. There's a lagoon that has a bridge over it, which was very nice, and the walking paths are freshly paved within the past few years, and have wonderful signage and markings to keep you aware of your journey. We enjoyed walking around, but because we were destined for the playground, made our routes to find our way there and to the pier. People were crabbing and fishing, and there were REALLY helpful QR-code based signage to help you navigate the various fishing regulations that take place throughout the different months and seasons. So, they basically help you to not get a ticket! While we were there, they were setting up for a concert and art festival, which seemed really nice, but we had to leave before it happened so we didn't actually catch the festivities. Oh, and did I mention they had a turtle hatching habitat!? We didn't see any turtles, but did see that it was marked off and protected by some fencing to keep them safe. That would be SO cool to see turtles being hatched and finding their way to the water! read more

I went for a late night walk and this park was everything I needed. It offered a beautiful ambiance and the sounds of pond life. There was an elaborate jungle gym which was super cool! No swings though which was kinda sad but maybe it was too dark to see where they were. There's a track and seems like 2 fields, a pond and a place to crab, a pier and a lot more. There was also little information plaques around that I found to be so cute and helpful. read more

Excellent park for walking, biking, exploring and playing. The newly refurbished playground offers active play for children and teens. The paths around the park allow for lengthy rides and walks. The pier is a great place to put your hand to fishing and crabbing. Recommend it as a place to relax. Set up a chair and enjoy the view of the bay or under a tree along the lagoon. The park facilities host many local and tournament sports competitions. The grounds are well kept. read more

Really lovely little park! I sent there 4 times during my short 4 day visit to North Ocean City, as it was right by my hotel. Our first visit was for the fireworks - awesome 20 minute display with background music. A live band played before the fireworks. We also went back to bike (just a quick circle around and a stop at the pier), and we went back twice to enjoy some recreational crabbing. I think it was too early in the season to do any real crabbing...but lots of fun. There are also kayaks and stand up paddles for rent....but the hours for that seemed kind of unpredictable. We were there around 11 or 12 on a Friday and they were just opening shop. There is a small sandy area where people take their dogs to play in the water. While it's a small park, it's free and it's beautiful. read more

What a great park. It's a sports facility inside and outside with a crabbing dock and kayak kiosk on the side. The track o/s might be 1/2 mile around. Two baseball fields, an actual sports track and such. Nice pond there with a bridge. Picnic tables available but I didn't see any grills. Even a playground and a "Little Library" Lots of people crabbing on the dock. That's why we came here. Gotta take the kids crabbing. What's more fun than catching crabs with chicken on a string! Kids and adults alike were catching one after another. Blue crabs! Lots of fun. Very pretty setting. Lots of bird watching here also. Great place to come spend time with the family. read more

North side park to me is a hidden gem of Ocean City, specially for those people who come on extended trips to the City. This is a good place to take your baby on a stroll (well paved pathways), to take your kids to the playground, or to work out. The park has a playground, a workout area for adults, a bridge and areas to go crabbing and fishing. The park has educational signs that I found interesting; teaching the visitor about different nature facts about living organisms in the park. The park also has fireworks which we happened to see on Father's Day. I believe they have fireworks for different occasions. While you walk to the paved areas there are mile markers to see how far you have walked. There is also a little library box in which you can take a book and leave a book. The park is a good area to see trees, since there aren't that many trees in Ocean City. I would have liked to see more maps. read more

This is an excellent large community park, and I am stunned to have recently discovered this hidden gem. It is a beautiful, clean, and safe recreational space, a nice contrast to the other activities popular in OCMD. The majority of amenities are free for the public. Wide trails that surround the complex filled with playgrounds, sports fields, an indoor facility, and a pond. The ample trails have green, yellow, and red arrows to direct the speed of traffic, which are used for dog walking, roller blading, biking and running. The well kept sports fields are used by local teams. The outdoor gym has a variety of gym equipment utilizing body weight. There's also a fishing lagoon and picnic space. Kayaks and stand up paddle boards are available for hire. There is also a large indoor facility. read more

This is a great park to bring the little ones when they need to run around and are to young for the activities around the beach. There are portapotties that are open when the baseball diamond bathrooms are closed. The fields are nice for pick up soccer games and the pier goes far into the water. You and your children can sport different aquatic wildlife from Minnesota to dolphins. read more

Not bad. It's a nice place to go if you're tired of the beach, or just want something different than a sandy beach. It's close enough to Ocean City's boardwalk area, and it's a peaceful place to walk around and have a conversation with someone... It's especially good for kids (lot of things they could do, too!) I kind of wished there were some small benches to sit on, ON the pier.. but the pier is pretty narrow and small, so it's not bad if you just feel like getting even closer to the water. There's adequate benches along the body of water where the bridge is at though... but there were a few bees around them (they put the trash cans directly next to the benches... eck) - So that was the only "meh" part; I hate bees! =X read more

OC and Maryland Dept of Nat Res put together this nice park. Lots of recreational sports indoor and out. Very nice pier for crabbing and fishing and a lagoon to rent kayaks and paddle boards. Peaceful retreat from the fast paced city of OC. read more

Great little park in the north side of Ocean City. Beautiful dock for fishing or just bay watching, fields if you have any organized sports to play. There's a jogging / walking track with distances, and a play area for the little ones. During the summer there will be different sports tournaments that you can visit if you're into that. The facilities are maintained and generally really nice. There is also a kayaks / paddle board rentals by the dock. read more

Great park with lots to offer. Paved walking trail, wetlands walkway for crabbing, kayak and SUP rentals and the list goes on. Sunday night host Sundaes in the park with live music and fireworks. Definitely a nice, free thing to do in OCMD. Skip the ice cream. It's just scoops and toppings like a ice cream party at school. read more

Beautiful park located in the North end of Ocean City. There are four nice softball diamonds, lacrosse/soccer fields, beautiful views, a dock as long as two football fields with excellent crabbing and tons of other events. This is a must-do if you're staying in North Ocean City. It's also the location of the winter lights. They host concerts here as well. In the summer time they have awesome ball hockey tournaments inside the community center. This would be an excellent picnic spot! read more

Went there are spending two days in South Ocean City on the Boardwalk. The board is lovely but can get a little crowded and redundant after some time. Heard about this park and decided to drive up to 125th street. Huge parking lot with tons of spaces. The park is lovely with large fields. The dock, which there are tons of picture of, is simply beautiful. There were a few people fishing off the dock and at the base of the dock there is a kayak rental business. The water seems very calm and it was pretty empty and soothing compared to the busier downtown. I highly recommend this free destination to any visiting Ocean City. Keep in mind that this park faces the west as opposed to the boardwalk and beach which face the east. So....while you can get awesome sunrises on the Beach, you can get awesome sunsets on this park. There is also a McDonalds on the corner of 125th street and the main highway before turning into the main street for the park. Feel free to gab some food, just be sure to use the trash cans at the park!! read more

This park is great! Other than the beach, it is one of the greatest outdoor locations in OC! It is always packed with people and always has so much going on! Whether it is a lacrosse or softball tournaments, arts and crafts shows, joggers, kids on the playgrounds, people crabbing off the pier, fireworks shows, and "Sundae's in the park", or just a pick up game of soccer, there is something for everyone. NEW for 2013 - the added a self weighted outdoor gym. I WAS ECSTATIC about this! However my excitement quickly turned into frustration with all of the parents allowing their children to play on all of the equipment when adults are seriously trying to work out. Towards the end of the summer of '13 machines were already broken or not working properly. I think a fence around it with signs about the age limit will help. But seriously, the playground is for the kids. 4th of July - this is the best place in my opinion for fireworks in OC, the park is huge and you will always find a spot and the shoot of the fireworks right on the pier... its almost too close because debris always hits us. Winterfest of Lights - Cute little light show around Thanksgiving/Christmas time. You ride a trolley all around the park and the park is filled with light displays. The 12 days of Christmas is the main light display and the music plays along with your ride. After the ride there is a heated tent where you can get hot chocolate and pictures with Santa... I have been here 4 years in a row for this! Rec Center - they also have a large indoor recreation center, you pay $3 entrance fee for the whole weekend (I believe) and you can play basketball or whatever inside! read more

First time visit to OC. Chose to stay at Holiday Inn near park thinking it was also close to boardwalk. Not so. Boardwalk was far, but the park was the hotel's backyard. It is beautiful and on the harbor. There is a bike path, a soccer field, softball field, and children's playground. Kayak and paddleboat rentals are at the beginning of the fishing/crabbing pier. So many families were crabbing. I felt so left out that this city girl couldn't partake because I wouldn't know where to start. This park is a nice size with ponds and picnic tables and beautiful landscape. There is also an indoor sports complex within the park as well as a concession stand. This park made up for not booking a hotel close to the boardwalk. Only recommendation would be a bike rental within the park. The one across the street from it had a very limited and old selection. read more

I have been coming to OC since I was a little kid and the only time I ever came to Northside Park was for Winterfest. I feel as if I have been missing the best kept secret in OC. The park is well maintained, clean, and has plenty of features. First, the children's playground is HUGE! They have both a tot lot and a big kids playground. Second, they have three mapped out jogging paths and an outdoor exercise area, with gym equipment. Also, they have baseball diamonds. Finally, they have clean restrooms and soda machines available. While there, maintenance was watering flowers and cleaning the park. Great place to take the kids on a non-beach day. read more

There were 2 fireworks in Ocean City md for the forth of july, considering the proximity to route 90, I decided on northside park. The fireworks were great. Really different from the regular designs you see and they play great top pop hits in the background. read more

Very nice quiet park. We went here late September 2015 which is off season. We missed Sundaes in the Park and entertainment. We plan to revisit in the future. read more
