We arrived for a 3 hour shift which was to pack food boxes for seniors. There were two other companies there as well, so we had a good number of people to get the job done! Overall, they were very organized, energetic and motivating and answered any questions we had. At first I thought, how will this work with everyone knowing what to do? But you know what, the way they do it everything just moved along like a well oiled machine. People helped each other without asking and we just kept on packing those boxes. At the end, I think we did 925! They do require everyone stop for a 20 minute break halfway through and encourage you to stay hydrated. I'd highly recommend this as a volunteer opportunity with an employer group or even solo or with your family. What they offer the community is well needed and it's an rewarding experience.

This is the best kept secret in Milwaukee because it's the cheapest bar to drink in with beer bottles and rail drinks starting at $2.50, my Gin Rickey was $2.50 to my amazement and I can't remember the last time I paid $2.50 for a cocktail. The crowd was diverse, dah cheap drinks. The food is frozen pizza, chicken strips and various breads like garlic bread. If you want bang for your drinking dollar than this is the place to go.

Grand Avenue Club is the place that will always be there for you. It isn't a place where we have therapy groups but we do help each other out when there is a need. We work together to keep everyone healthy, doing things such as yoga, meditation, advocacy, and other more subtle ways. It's hard in the beginning because you come into a large building with a bunch of people that you don't know. But everyone is very friendly and helpful and you make friends quickly. You can find job training, learning help, you can possibly make an entrance into the workplace with GAC's help. There are so man benefits to being a member that I can't list them right now. Loved volunteering here and getting to learn the difference between gardening and farming. The…read morescale is just huge. They have acres of produce that they've been growing with an expertise that's impressive. Our group helped with weeding since it was too early in the year to do much else. It had rained the day before but most of the fields we worked in were dry. The last one was not. Definitely pack a spare pair of shoes for the drive home. They do offer bottled water if you don't bring your own and gloves/tools. The staff is super friendly and thanks the group profusely for our hard work. If you're here during the summer, you can stop at the Franklin beer garden down the road for refreshments afterwards.

It's about 75 acres of land that consists of planted plots, fruit bearing trees, fishery, somewhere there are goats and even a park area. They need people, volunteers, to help with the harvesting or gardening, etc. A nice sized group of people can really accomplish a lot for them and for those who need this food. I personally feel that no one should be hungry in this rich country of ours. And I love the fact they grow it - as you know many people on a limited income are cost conscious and the cheaper food is the stuff that comes in a tin can, box, or cellophane and is highly processed! From the ground?! Now this is how you feed the hungry. Our shift was about 3 hours and it's hard work. That may not seem long but the effort you put in - wow I just can't imagine the people who did this for a living all day for most of their lives. We are so dang lucky, y'all. Anyways, please check it out if looking for someplace to volunteer and if you are not averse to some outside work. It feels great having done it! Things to consider: - bringing an extra change of socks/shoes - towel if rainy/wet - baseball capping it - layers, layers, layers! You can always take off but it sucks if you can't add on - sunblock If looking for a spot to eat and/or get a drink after volunteering, The Hideaway is just south on 76th street, is casual and has great food and great staff!

The hundreds of campers are organized by age, and whether they are day or overnight campers. But everyone has a fun-filled day from start to finish. I can hear the laughter, music, and happy conversations throughout the day and it is the best sound in nature! I love stopping at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Waukesha. There are always lots of treasures to choose from and the inventory seems to change often, which makes it fun to browse. The staff and volunteers are friendly and welcoming, and you never feel rushed while looking around. One thing I really appreciate is the pricing. Compared to some other thrift stores, the prices here are very reasonable, which makes it even more fun to hunt for a good find. You truly never know what you didn't know you needed until you spot it on the shelf. Definitely one of my favorite thrift stops in the Waukesha area.

Plenty of volunteers were stationed throughout to help direct people to their seats. Beverages and snacks were available in the atrium. For bathrooms, I would recommend heading down to the atrium level rather than staying on the upper floor. The upper floor restroom is smaller, and the line was quite long. Sound and view from our seats were both good. The 2026/2027 season is posted now, and there are several shows on it I'd like to see. Being able to catch these here without having to travel to Chicago is a nice perk.

It's such a large theater, but it…read morecan get pretty uncomfortable in the back, with views very obscured by taller gents seating in front of you. Obviously orchestra seats are the best. As are the front loge seats. But unlike, say the Fiserv where you get a good view from any seat, further back seats here can get pretty uncomfortable. One little bit of luck I had seating on row W was that this was the second to the last row on orchestra floor, but the last row was set up with sound tables and no one was seating there during my show. And because I had a really tall guy seating in front of me, I couldn't see anything, but I could actually flop up the fold down chair and sit up high without obscuring anyone behind me and get an unobscured view myself. So if I want cheap tickets in the back, get the very back row and sit up like that to get a better view lol. It's not comfortable though.
