Smaller location in comparison to other stores. The store is clean and bright. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Quite often my clients request that I accompany them on a shopping excursion for various home-decor…read moreitems: furniture, accessories, lamps, decorative objects, and the like; this is my job and I enjoy it very much. One of my clients recently requested I escort them to Chano's Warehouse in Milwaukee this past Saturday; I was not certain what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The exterior is somewhat sparse: a few lawn/garden tools, stacks of chairs/bins, and little else. It gives every appearance of an over-sized pole-barn and to be frank that's exactly what it is. The carpark is somewhat disorganised, but there is plenty of space and also parking available on the street. The warehouse itself is enormous, with all manner of items available for purchase: furniture, china, glasses, toys, clothing, and so on. There are vintage items: phonograph records, farm implements, period toys, etc. I was very pleasantly surprised to observe that although piled high, all the items were clean and polished; the towels/sheets/linens appeared to have been laundered and were folded/arranged nicely. The glasses were beautifully polished and the furniture was spanking clean. Yes, there is some disarray; there are heaps and heaps of things and one cannot attend to everything. Yes, the pricing is very fair; I did not think anything was too dear although some items were marked. However, considering how many items were available, this is probably not surprising and Maria, when ringing me up, offered very reasonable amounts to me (which I accepted). Yes, there is some haggling allowed on the pricing; I was able to chat for a bit with Maria, the owner, who was very friendly and told me how much she enjoyed having this business and welcoming customers. Yes, there was a line but it moved quickly and quite honestly, there was so much to look at I really didn't think it took that long. It may be reasonable to suggest that the success of Chano's Warehouse is perhaps unanticipated and that Maria and her staff are doing the best they can. Nobody's perfect. I enjoyed my visit to Chano's Warehouse (as did my clients) and look forward to returning soon (with more clients).

Finally made it to Chanos!…read more Lots of stuff to look through! Hard part was it's 50/50 in items being labeled for pricing. Which is a little odd then when you make it to checkout/makes me personally not want to grab non-labeled items. Another customer told me you can kind of bargain/haggle the pricing but if that isn't something you're comfortable doing... Overall the price I was given for my total was my max I would have spent had she gone higher I would have asked her to individually note the prices so I could put one thing back. I personally would have priced it probably $5 less especially due to one of the items being a short basket that had some imperfections and I couldn't see it being valued for more than $3 based on average of other places I'd been. But it was an experience

I was going through clothing, placing it on an end hook to figure out what I was going to buy…read more THAT WAS NOT WHERE I WAS LEAVING IT! I wasn't finished. A young, newer employee took great pleasure embrassing me as she told me "more that once" where the unwanted clothes went. I was not finished. I told her that and she just kept on about her directive repeating herself rather loudly stated it was a reminder. Seems elderly people are really not wanted in that store. Perhaps she assumed, incorrectly, again, that I can't hear either. I said I don't need a reminder. Earlier in the shopping day I over heard the same girl say out loud she was watching a customer. What kind of customer service is this? Watching a customer...for what? And why talk so loudly? A superior nor rude approach to their job is unnecessary. Perhaps they took their cue from the manager. The main manager. The large white women. Sidney and Mike are the best. What an embrassing display of this inexperienced girl behaving this way and continued on and on blowing off her mouth. There is a bin full of clothes next to the rack. Clothes are on the rack and the bin was rather full. So where exactly do the unwanted clothes go? Rack or bin? Also, as we went through the clothing the sizes were all mixed up and no signage on the rods on the West nor North walls denoting sizes, plus the racks are too full it's difficult to shop. Instead of watching customers and berating them outloud in the store for many to hear, for something the customer was NOT doing or had made a mistake she could have been kind and proffesional and been discret while giving her message. Then quietly resume spending her time putting clothes in the correct places. You can always quietly and tactfully approach anyone. No need to raise your voice from a distance. Alex is a better worker than her. She's going to cause problems in that store. Smh.

She called a manager over, who starting scraping the $10 price tag off, confirming the shoes should be $15.00. I said "your backroom priced the shoes at $10, no one else has the stickers to put the wrong prices on things". The manager went on to say "anyone can get stickers anywhere in the store and put them on things". Really, do you expect me to believe customers can get your stickers anywhere in the store and them on things. A bad experience!!

THIS PLACE IS A CLUSTERF*CK!!!…read more This place has the distinction of being the only place meant for kids that's nestled in between a car parts store and a repair shop. My wife didn't believe I was taking her to a kids consignment shop. This is what happens when you buy a garage, turn it into a gym locker room and then throw about a million toys inside. Or at least that's the thought I had when I shuffled around this place. When I say shuffle, I mean it! This place is littered with toys and things all over the place, I spent more time shuffling sideways and stepping over things. I thought that this might of been a freak thing on the Friday I came in, so I returned on Saturday since my wife and I were in the area. It was just as messy early on Saturday than it was the day before. This place is barely organized! Some toys are grouped with other toys, but otherwise clothes are peppered anywhere and everywhere with no rhyme or reason. Scented candles, glade plugins, scented oil, spray air fresher, renuzit, patchouli incense, heck even some car air freshners from the parts store next door I don't care! Please take care of the smell inside the store! It smells like you guys grabbed twenty used sweat socks from the nearby gym, used them to cover the exhaust pipe of a 1977 Chevy Van and then piped that into the store. This is quite possibly the iciest parking lot I've encountered this winter. A little salt would help. I felt like I was in the Super Mario 3 ice level as I slid into the store, juggling the one year old in my arms. Expectant Moms, be wary. Drive by and don't stop! You probably won't even realize you're driving by! I drove by twice before I found it.

We come every year because it's fun to try all the different soups that restaurants bring. It has a been a good way to try something that places that we've never heard of (and a good way for restaurants to promote business). There are different kinds of bread there as well for people to eat. I've used it to get the left over soup on the bottom of the bowl that I couldn't get with a spoon This year, they had commemorative spoons that they sold for $10. We enjoy coming too because it's a good cause and why not support a cause that raises awareness about hunger. It's nice because you get 2 tickets with your purchase of a bowl. You can buy extra tickets for more soup if you are still hungry and want to try more soups So here's my suggestion: go. Get a bowl. Eat soup. Support a good cause
