Recently attended a trade show at Milwaukee Marriott West and had a really good overall experience. The hotel was easy to get to right off the freeway, and the main entrance and lobby area were very clean with a modern, inviting feel. The hallway outside the ballroom had lots of windows and natural light, which made the space feel open and welcoming. The lounge area off to the right of the lobby was busy and had a great energy, probably happy hour time. Bathrooms were conveniently located near the ballroom, service throughout the event was friendly, and the appetizers were surprisingly good. Staff also did a nice job quickly clearing plates and keeping things tidy during the event. I didn't stay overnight, so this review is only based on the event/ballroom experience. My only suggestion would be adding a few more high-top tables or seating areas outside the main ballroom for networking and mingling between sessions. Overall, it was a positive experience and a great venue for a trade show or business event. read more

This review is specific to event hosting, not hotel stays. I've stayed at this Marriott before and had a great experience--this feedback does not reflect that. I hosted a work event here last week (a conference-style dinner). Communication leading up to the event was great, but once on-site, it was difficult to find anyone from the events team. I learned my contact person wasn't the same as the one I had been communicating with, and no one provided a phone number for immediate assistance--something I'm normally given. Another large, loud event was taking place in the same hallway, which we weren't informed about in advance. Their guests repeatedly entered our space and even tried to use our bar. Our bartender handled it well, but it caused unnecessary disruption. Once inside the room, setup was incomplete--centerpieces were missing, linens were wrinkled and stained, and several chairs were visibly dirty. Lighting adjustments helped a bit, but the overall appearance wasn't up to standard. Staff presence was minimal--one person managing the floor (who was at times dismissive) and the bartender. I had no one to assist with Wi-Fi, A/V setup, or sound issues, which delayed our start. Overall, it felt like all focus was on the other event, leaving ours understaffed and overlooked. Generally a great experience. I was here for a wedding. The pool was a hit with my kiddo. If you order pizza have them leave it at the front desk. My pizza guy got lost several times. An email describing the alternative entrance due to the construction would have been nice. The breakfast is $17 for an adult and they did not charge me for my 9 yr old. I don't imagine I will ever be back in this small town, but if I needed to I would stay here again. read more

Pet friendly and plenty of space in the hotel but this place has a lot of areas for improvement. We've had one great stay here and one really bad one. The big difference each time is the staff. There's some people here who really don't seem to want to do their jobs and they make it tougher for the rest of the staff and guests too. Then there's people like Jack and Austin at the front desk, who are amazing, along with Tara at the bar. They are great and they make your stay worthwhile. Overall the place has a lot of potential, with the indoor pool, great open spaces indoors, and a concierge lounge with interesting hours...but they also have things like a pretty low quality breakfast buffet and a few staffers who really make the bar and restaurant unusable. read more

Have been staying here now a few times when I'm in town for business. This is one of the larger hotels I've been too, and even though it's large it doesn't feel that way. The gym and the pool have been empty so far during my daily routines. It's clean, and quiet, all though you can hear the freeway when your room faces that way. Occasionally you hear the train blow their horn, but it is not unpleasant imo. Restaurants are not too far away, and there is one conveniently located on the first floor if you don't want to leave. I have been enjoying my stays here and will continue to whenever I'm in town. read more

Review is for the food we had as part of business meetings this week. Had a ham and cheese omelette that was outstanding, breakfast potatoes both days were also very good. Had a large chopped salad for lunch and it was huge and tasted great. Had a chicken quesadilla the next day, was decent. Pretty good food for hotel. read more

Stayed here on business for 5 nights and as my first time to this locations I have to say that I was warmly greeted, recognized for my gold status, given extra bottles of water and had my floor changed when I asked for a higher floor all within my first 10 minutes at the front desk... my room was spacious and I had no problem with the cleanliness of the room. Every day I came back in my room was up to par. I ordered food from their restaurant several times in the evening and everything I ordered was delish...they make Starbucks coffee and other coffee drinks, so in the morning before I left for my meetings, I had s great morning drink...staff is nice, hotel is well kept, lots of parking , room well appointed, will stay here again read more

I visited Marriott for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The next night was the reception and after party. Nice venue for any event. The staff was on point! Rehearsal dinner was buffet-style. Bride and groom selected pork tenderloin, beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, caprese salad, caesar salad, and two delicious choices of creme pies. Everything was very tasteful. The reception was great! Same quality of experience as the day before. The hotel is very well kept. Warm atmosphere. read more

Bed Bugs Stayed there June 6/8 and 4 days later I had bedbugs. Called the hotel and explained that the timing made bugs originate from Mariott. Told me they have dogs that sniff out bedbugs and they have no issues. A month later I have $2,500 in extermination fees, still have bed bugs and have to file a worker comp claim for lost work time. Mariott refuses to discuss it. 30 year customer no longer! Lesson learned, always check for bugs before you agree to stay. read more

This is a great Marriott located in the western suburbs of Milwaukee. Built about 10 years ago, and updated- this modern property has all the amenities you expect from a Marriott with a few extras thrown in. My room was typical although the good news was it was up on the concierge floor. Too bad I was there on a weekend as the concierge lounge is closed on the weekends so no free breakfast up there for this Platinum member. But if you give the server in the restaurant your room number that is on the concierge floor- they will waive the $13 fee for the breakfast buffet to accommodate you. Speaking of the breakfast buffet- it was great! Freshly prepared made to order omelets, scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon , sausage, potatoes, a range of fruit and cereals, bagels toast and juices. And as a girl who usually hates buffets, this one was clean and organized. I sat in the restaurant and the server was quick with coffee and juice- plenty of servers to take care of your every whim. And you can also order off the menu if buffets aren't your style. There is a nice workout room and pool as well as a bar off of the lobby. Unless you are a platinum member- they still charge for Internet access (which always makes me nuts!) There was coffee in the room and a decent work space as well. The parking lot is large but know if you don't get one of the up front spots, you will have a small hike so you may want to drop your bags off at the door if you have a lot of things. Friendly staff (love the free apples), clean room, decent weekend rate ($99), good breakfast and a plush bed- all in all- a very nice experience. read more

My Wife, adult Son and I shared a room here for three night ( 2 doubles) Hotel is older but in good shape. Staff friendly. FYI - a double will not sleep two adults comfortably. I would not recommend it. In our room - the fitted sheets kept pulling off - so at night you would wake up on the mattress- so gross. In our bathroom- the toilet sort of worked, the shower sort of worked and the sink had great difficulty draining. On the second day we returned to the room in the late afternoon to find the room was not cleaned. My wife wanted to take nap so I went down to the desk and asked for fresh towels. I was told they would be brought up. 2 hours later I went back to the front desk and asked about the towels. I was told by staff that they asked house cleaning who insisted the room was clean. So they did not bring towels. I'm pretty sure and I'm pretty sure the reader of this can tell if a room was cleaned out not. So I had to ask again and this time I also asked for a bar of soap. We left the room for dinner and baseball game and returned around midnight. A stack of fresh towels and a overfilled bag of soap and shampoo was sitting on a unmade bed. I was kind of hoping the room would have been cleaned- but hey maybe it was. The coffee bar staff was excellent. Loved having the little store. Restaurant breakfast was great and affordable. Staff great Room service was fast, affordable and friendly We experienced noise halls / door. We had a lower room facing front door. Which seems to be a smoking area. Later at night you could easily hear the conversation being held outside. ( windows don't open). Also lots of train noise. I would recommend a north facing high floor room. read more

This was a very large Marriott, with full conference capabilities. The parking is around the side, so there is a walk in evolved to check in. Check-in was smooth and the room was very nicely done. My only criticism is that the concierge lounge for elite members who is lacking. I think they should do more for breakfast. I stayed here last week. The lobby is lovely and recently remodeled. The room seemed nice until I was bitten by bedbugs. I had no idea what was happening at first but after two nights I had itchy bites on my hands and feet. At home my dermatologist confirmed it bedbug bites. When I called the hotel they denied this and said their exterminator didn't see anything. They need to get a new exterminator. I called twice and they did not apologize or offer me anything just denied it.. They need to improve their customer service. These itchy painful bites will last for almost 2 weeks. Torture. Beware room 314. I would not be writing this if they had handled this issue better. Bedbugs can happen in any hotel. read more

As far as hotels in the area go, the Marriott is probably the best hotel in surrounding Pewaukee and Waukesha. The hotel itself is clean and staff are very friendly. They also hand out free beer and wine during cocktail hour, which is a huge plus in my book. Beats the warm cookie during check-in that another chain offers. Of course, the wine and beer are not fantastic but who am I to turn down free booze. They have a pool, workout center, and business center as well as meeting facilities. But what I think makes this property stand out is that in the rooms, they have the hookups that you need to connect your laptop to the tv. This can be very handy if you are here for business and you need to brush up on any presentations that you may need to give. The restaurant on the property, Bistro 66, has some pretty decent food - chicken wings, steak, reuben, and roasted chicken are the standouts. Do not get the burger or pork chops. read more

I have stayed at this property twice and both experiences were absolutely appalling. I am a Platinum Marriott rewards member and have stayed at my share of full service Marriott properties. My first stay here went wrong when they did not honor my room reservation. They claimed to not have my Platinum status attached to the reservation and as a result I had to wait for a room to become available. Because of this mix up the hotel's General Manager - Keith Kramer - offered me a voucher for another free stay in the future. Granted this was a nice gesture, but it doesn't really make the end of a 13 hour day of travel any easier. After that horrible first experience I was not planning to ever stay at this property again, even with the free night's certificate. Unfortunately, on a recent leisure trip to Milwaukee I was forced to give this property another try. The Courtyard Marriott downtown was sold out and this was the only other decent Marriott property near Milwaukee. Of course, I tried to use my free night's certificate and ended up in even more of a nightmare than the first experience. The GM claimed that he could not honor the certificate due to availability. Even though there are no limitations on the certificate and there was vacancy at the property. Stay away from the Marriott Milwaukee West! The Courtyard Marriott on Michigan Avenue downtown is much nicer. The staff there is much more courteous and pleasant to work with. The GM Keith Kramer is also an absolute moron. read more

This hotel has a lot of amenities. I really haven't explored it all that much. They have a great workout facility and a very nice restaurant. They have a separate bar with plenty of room and ample televisions. The staff was very courteous when checking in. I would definitely recommend. A couple of dings. The last time I stayed here (a couple of years ago), there were some break ins in the parking lot. Since then, it looks like they've put in some uber powerful lights in the parking lot. So it is very safe and secure in my opinion. A minor ding was the early wake up call due a mix up I'm sure. I didn't complain, but it's not five stars. Oh well, you can't win 'em all. read more

We have stayed in multiple Marriott branded hotels in the past. Yes this was not the newest at which we have stayed, yes we have seen better quality rooms, and yes we have had much better priced rooms. But we have stayed at worse locations outside of the Marriott branded hotels. This is the reason for a 3 star rating. The hotel was book heavily with a Cubs vs Brewers weekend series and a large wedding taking place. We were able to get a room but paid an enormous amount for it ($250). We accepted the price as it was storming out badly and we wanted a place to stay outside of the city. As a gold member we expected some sort of benefit as we have received at other Marriott locations but we simply added the points to our account. We had a simple room with a king sized bed and a view of the parking lot. We did not visit the pool, restaurant, or gym due to the volume of people in those areas. The entrance was nice and the hallways were kept up well. But during our stay we did not experience anything that would bring us back. We will not come back to this location but will try out other Marriott locations because of our good experiences at other locations. read more

Spacious, large rooms. Nice pool and hot tub - one you'll actually want to use. A more formal dining room with very good offerings. This is an excellent Marriott property. There are no restaurants close by; if not eating in the hotel, you'll be driving a 10 minutes east or west on the highway, or south into town. read more

It is conveniently located, which is why I chose it, but it is not a place that I would drive across town to stay at again. For sure the WORST bed I have ever slept in. My husband didn't even sleep one minute, I may have gotten 3 hours out of pure exaustion. The matress was mushy, spongy, BAD! There was no privacy sign to put on our door. The breakfast buffet. CHEAP CHEAP quality. Powdered scrambled eggs that were GREEN. Cheap Sysco "pastries". And the omelet cook was miserable, poor guy. Ton of messy tables when we got there and a huge line and no staff. Something terrible has happened to the Marriott brand and it's a shame. read more

Very nice hotel out in the Pewaukee/Waukesha area. Much nicer than expected based on the other hotels to choose from locally. Food and drinks are very good. They have an above average fitness center and pool. Their concierge lounge is a nice place to relax and have breakfast or evening snacks. Their attendees Claudia and Gloria are very friendly. We have stayed at this Marriott several times, primarily because we had an event in the area. Overall, i would recommend it if you are on business or for a short weekend stay. Pros - The typical breakfast buffet found at most Marriott locations. Its not bad and convenient. - Staff is very friendly and helpful. Never have had a complaint. - Rooms are decently spaced out. Beds are not too bad. Rooms are clean and up to date. - In a good location with several malls and many of the main Milwaukee attractions in the area. Cons - I've had my kid with us when we have stayed and found the pool water to be an incredibly cold temperature. When we tell the front desk, they say they will call maintenance, but after four visits I found its not a maintenance issue. - As a Marriott gold member, I try not to expect too much, but I find that there seems to be no extra step taken here. Every time we have asked for a room upgrade, we have been told there is no availability. The last time we stayed, there were five cars at most in the parking lot the entire week, yet we were told all the suites were taken. read more

We had a fantastic experience here. I got a room off of booking.com through trivago- so I was a little nervous that I may not be getting the best room for the price we payed, however I was more than pleasantly surprised. We had a king sized room with a huge window-which was cool to have. The bed was comfortable for us! Unfortunately we only stayed one night- it would have been nice to enjoy the room for another night. We were greeted so kindly, given cold bottled water upon arrival, and treated very professionally. If we would have had any problems, I feel that they would have been answered right away. It's a very beautiful hotel with a pool, exercise center, and restaurant. We did dine at the restaurant for breakfast-breakfast is NOT included, but it's about $14 for the breakfast buffet (which we both had, and I highly recommend). The buffet has made-to-order omelets, waffles, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, bread/bagels, and pastries! SO worth the money. I will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. Their customer service can't be topped. read more

Check in went smoothly. Very nice staff. Lobby and restaurant look new and inviting. Rooms however have walls which are paper thin. Could hear the next room's phone calls and t.v. I had to call the front desk and request the next room turn down their t.v at 2am. Staff complied and took care of the issue promptly. As I mentioned, very good staff. Concierge lounge not up to par variety snack wise to other Marriott's. Next visit to the Milwaukee area will be closer to downtown. read more

This is by far the worse Marriott I have ever stayed in. It's currently 4 am and the fat slob in the room next to me has been snoring soooo load that I thought someone was in the room with me. I've called the front desk twice and they are only able to offer to move ME. This is in excess of my 160th Marriott night this year and that's the best they can do????? I've had to go on a shouting range twice now to wake the poor idiot up. I'm sure this is not the first complaint they have had due to either insane thin walls or a problem guest - Marriott tracks if I need extra towels but not loud guests?- and they don't and they offer to move the titanium elite for life guest an hour before they have to wake up for work?????????? Nice hotel. Traveling for work and spent 2 nights. Good stuff: very clean rooms with a comfy bed, ample pillows and functioning A/c. Quaint bar in the lobby with friendly tenders. Complimentary coffee each morning. I didn't eat in the onsite restaurant but others said it was good. Cons: TV channels are slow to change (what is it with hotel cable systems?). And bathroom sink had a slow drain. But the pointy bar of hand soap made a perfect stopper prop. In all a good experience; I'd stay again. read more

This place had all the things I need when on business travel. Room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Room included a desk with good computer chair (adjustable height), free wifi and an overstuffed chair for relaxing. In addition, they had a full gym that included a good array of free weights, two benches, balance balls, sit-up wedges and several cardio machines. Best of all the gym although located next to the pool, wasn't connected so there was NO chlorine smell. Staff at the desk, bar and restaurant were superb! Fresh apples (Gala or Fuji) were provided in the gym and at the front desk, in case one needed a quick snack. When you ask the front desk about restaurants they give you and honest opinion and even print a map quest for you. When we decided to visit a local cheese seller the hotel provided a fridge in the room, free of charge. The bar made a good drink. The food and drink prices were reasonable. When we were checking in the restaurant manager greeted us with a small and offered a free margarita. read more

I stayed at marriott west and the stay was standard like any other hotel. So next morning I stored my luggage at the front desk at 8am. I picked up my luggage at 2pm and I realized I lost couple hundred dollars when I checked the luggage. I honestly would not recommend this hotel. I wouldn't trust it for a second. I travel quiet a bit for my job, and always try to stay at Marriotts as they are my main hotel chain I stay at. This has been by far the worst experience so far. On arrival, I walked into my room and got a good whiff of a gas smell/Indian food smell. I have been traveling all night and really did not want to change rooms. After 15min of relaxing I started to get a major headache. I changed rooms to the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor. My new room was right above my old room. The smell was still lingering around, but not nearly as bad. I was a little disappointed that I went from a king bed to two double beds. I also noticed the beds trembles a little bit when you are a little still. If you look at your water, you can see it jumping around on the table. This is because floors 1,2 and 3 and rooms around *29-*45 are right next to the AC units for the entire building. Unfortunately, I always have my hotel rooms around 72deg. It seemed a little hot in the room so I lowered the temperature too 68deg. 2am I wake up with the sweats, as the AC was not working in this room. My 3rd room was on the top floor, thankfully the AC was working strong. The beds are very comfortable. All the rooms are a little outdated and need help bad. They may have replaced the carpet and some lamps to make it look newer and updated, but it really is not. The bathroom needs a lot of help. Towel rack in shower was falling off the wall, literally if you touched it, it will fall off. Customer service was very helpful at the desk with my problems. Restaurant was decently good, could not really complain on the food. For being a regular Marriott, it is pretty disappointing. Their Courtyard Marriotts, which are a lower grade seem nicer then this location. Price it is a little high for what you get. read more

I stayed here as part of a block of rooms for a family wedding. The hotel is quite upscale, very clean, and modern. The check-in desk is so modern looking I had to ask it if was the hotel front desk, or for the adjoining restaurant. The soundproofing is very good. We were on the 5th floor and I never heard a peep from the rooms on either side (which I know where occupied) or from above or below. The only problem I had was when a very loud group of drunk businessy type adults came rambling down the hallway calling out about how they're lucky their rooms aren't next to so-and-so's or something. But once they entered their rooms, I heard nothing. Great water pressure in the shower. Upscale toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, body was, lotion, and soap bar. Lots of towels. Our king size bed was very comfortable, with four pillows (two of which we used). Elevators are very fast! I removed one star because there were no sidewalks in the neighborhood to run on, and because there's no businesses within reasonable walking distance that I could see. read more
