This is pretty good food. It isn't the best I've had, but I think it's the best in Oxford. The beef lo mein is my go to here. It's good.

It's a limited service casual restaurant, not a huge menu, but they've got the goods if you're looking for authentic Chinese vs the boring Americanized stuff. There was just one girl at the counter taking orders and she brought the food out to us. She was very polite and helpful. They were out of several items tonight including Ramen. Not sure if that's a frequent occurrence, so maybe call ahead. Happily for me they had what I came for: Boiled dumplings, light and tender and nicely stuffed. Came with a gingery soy dipping sauce. They had dark vinegar on the tables which I love to have soak into the dumplings after piercing them. My brother's wife is from China and she clued me in to that method of enjoying dumplings. Cumin Lamb and Cumin Beef. Make sure you tell them you want it spicy. She had ours kicked up and both were great. We found the beef to be more tender than the lamb. Both had good flavor. Portion was fair for the reasonable price. Szechuan cold noodles- I ordered these to go, for tomorrow, but I took a little taste. Now the noodles are super thick, which is not my preference, but they're coated with flaming hot chili oil and garnished with plenty of thin and crispy cucumber slivers and it's gonna be just fine. The decor is eclectic, lighting is a bit steampunk, modern Chinese music is playing. Beverage choices limited, we just shared a bottle of water. I'd love to try the Ramen sometime but will definitely call ahead. read more

Pretty good Chinese food in Oxford. In a city with a lot of choices for this cuisine, I'd say this one is my favorite. Sit outside on nice weather days. Service was very good. And portions are big. read more

Cute little restaurant. You order at the front desk and they bring it out to you if you eat it there. I got the braised beef over noodles and it was way too salty plus it had big chunks of fatty meat which was tough and kind of grossed me out. The potatoes in it were the most edible. I couldn't eat 3 bites so I ordered general tsao Chicken to get the Salty taste out of my mouth. The chicken had a lot of sauce on it which I'm not use too. It was ok. My daughter got the Mongolian beef and that was good. The crab Rangoon was good. The people who worked there was nice at well. The place was busy so it must have good stuff. Ordered shrimp in garlic sauce. It was wonderful. large enough serving for two of us to split. Egg rolls are best around. Every thing very fresh served hot. Staff pleasant. Had General Taos with noodles and an egg roll. It was okay, a little dry but eatable. The big problem is the call taker who is difficult to understand and didn't understand us when calling in the order. Fix that and I'd come back more often. read more

Not only was I blown away by the atmosphere of the restaurant, the owner came and talked to us personally and was extremely nice. After my friend and I ordered we went home to eat the food and it was some of the best general Tso's Chicken I have ever had. There are several Asian cuisine restaurants in Oxford, but this is by far the best our family has experienced. The food is so very fresh tasting. General Tso's is my personal favorite and is perfect - crispy outside and tender inside. Their fried rice is fresh, fresh fresh tasting, not oily like some, and perfectly seasoned. Husband also raves about the spicy beef brisket. Portions are huge and nice quality carryout containers are perfect for the ample leftovers you're likely to have to take home. The interior of the restaurant is casual but it is bright and clean. It's decorated with an interesting and eclectic mix of memorabilia, which is a little different for an Asian restaurant, but interesting nonetheless. Mimian does not offer full table service; order at the counter and staff brings your food to you. We've have our share of disappointing experiences in Asian cuisine in Oxford, but this one is a winner! read more

I stopped here for lunch and ordered the beef Ramen, spring roll, and an ice water. I sat down and waited for my food and I could hear the microwave turn on. She brought me out a bottle of water and when I asked for ice she said they had none and then she brought out my food. The Ramen did not look anything like the photos I seen online of other peoples orders. I think it was missing some of the veggies. I figured the spring roll had been nuked so I waited before I tried it. The Ramen was really lacking in flavor and the beef was pretty dry and I had lots of hard inedible gristle bits in it. I bit into the spring roll and burnt the crap out of my mouth it has definitely been microwaved. So I waited quite a while to eat the rest of it and it was actually the best part of my meal. Although the picture looks pretty good it wasn't worth my money and I wish I would've chose somewhere else for lunch. read more

Ordered food online and was delivered in a timely fashion. Got the general Tso combo platter with crab Rangoon. Everything was good except for the broccoli. Had a weird taste to it. Besides that the chicken was still crispy and the Rangoon filling tasted good. Fried rice was a little bland. Overall pretty good read more
