The two young women working at the front were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. They recommended the banana pudding cinnamon roll and the red velvet cupcake, and I am so glad I took their advice! The banana pudding cinnamon roll was hands down the best cinnamon roll I've ever had, and the red velvet cupcake was just as amazing--moist, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. If you haven't had the chance to support this wonderful Black-owned, woman-owned business yet, I can't recommend it enough. From the warm customer service to the incredible baked goods, everything was exceptional. I can't wait to go back and try even more!

Their menu rotates daily and features a variety of treats, including cupcakes, cake slices, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, and more. They also take custom orders for whole cakes. Most recently, they've added cinnamon rolls to the menu, so I stopped by to give them a try and picked up a couple of cupcakes as well. Everything was absolutely delicious. This bakery has gone viral several times, and after trying their desserts, it's easy to see why. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and check them out!

A kid event where the kids can go in and take pictures. It was super cute. The event was something like touch a truck get a donut. Kids got donuts for free. We ended up getting donuts because we were already there. I've visited their Hollywood location. I've never noticed this one till they had their event. Anyway, donuts are like $3.15 each. I had the chocolate which was standard and okay. I tried the pbj and the jelly taste very artificial. But it was okay. It didn't taste right though. Also tried the Apple fritter, it was standard. The best out of the bunch were the donut holes. I suspect it was because they were making them fresh consistently. They were the softest and most delicious.

We ordered a bagel with cream cheese and a breakfast burrito. Unfortunately, the burrito was disappointing. The tortilla tasted old, it was very small, and it only came with a tiny container of salsa on the side. The bagel also wasn't what I expected--it tasted more like regular bread than a traditional bagel. The only thing I really enjoyed was the glazed donuts. Those were fresh, delicious, and definitely the highlight of the visit. Sadly, I don't think I'd return to this location, especially after having such a much better experience at the Hollywood location.

The Chocolate Chip cookie was especially good. It's soft, warm, and loaded with chocolate chips. It's sweet, gooey in the center, and just really satisfying. The Oreo cheesecake and Dubai chocolate are also outstanding. I probably would skip smores and red velvet next time. They're good but not as good as the others. Each cookie has the same consistent quality. They're large, super fresh, soft in the middle, and warm when delivered. They're not over-the-top sweet or overloaded with frosting like some other popular cookie chains. These taste more like gourmet versions of a traditional cookie, and that's what makes them so good. If you're not a fan of Crumbl and you prefer a warm, fresh, classic-style cookie that's done really well, Night Owl is it. After trying them twice now, I honestly don't think I'll ever go back to Crumbl. These cookies are just that good.

What I liked most was that it wasn't overly sweet, which can sometimes be the case with red velvet desserts. It was rich without being too much. Definitely a great cookie and worth the stop.

Dessert stop at Cookiehead Bakery (Coral Springs)…read more I was craving something sweet before dinner, so I decided to check out Cookiehead Bakery around 6 pm. I'll be honest--I was expecting a bigger variety of cookies (and maybe some brownies), but at the time they had about 8 cookie options and 2 muffins available. Flavors included: walnut chocolate chip, classic chocolate chip, sugar cookie, Nutella red velvet, golden Oreo cookies & cream, Dubai chocolate, and lemon blueberry. They also offer soft serve, milkshakes, and coffee, which is a nice plus. I went with the last Dubai chocolate cookie ($6.42 with tax). The cookie itself was a little on the dry side, but the chocolate topping was really good and flavorful. Overall: worth trying if you're in the area, especially if you want something different--but I'd love to go back earlier in the day to see a fuller selection.

Walking into Cookiehead Bakery at 7:30 PM felt like entering a business that had already given up…read moreon itself. The sign says they're open until 10 PM, which apparently is more of a philosophical concept than an actual operating hour. Inside, it was so dim and lifeless that I genuinely questioned whether I was trespassing. No one at the counter. No sound from the back. No sign of human life at all. If a tumbleweed had rolled past the cookie case, it honestly would have fit the mood. And that cookie case? It looked less like a bakery display and more like the aftermath of a clearance sale nobody cared enough to restock. I stood there long enough to go through the full emotional journey from hopeful dessert run to "should I call someone to report this place missing?" before an employee finally appeared out of nowhere like they'd been summoned by confusion itself. Now, maybe I'm being a little harsh, but the vibe was unmistakable: I was interrupting absolutely nothing, and somehow still felt unwelcome. So I did the safe thing and ordered the chocolate chip, figuring if your signature cookie can't deliver, what are we even doing here? A cookie eventually appeared, and after all the suspense, mystery, and accidental haunted-house atmosphere, the payoff was... fine. Better than a gas station cookie, sure, but that is such a low bar it's basically underground. At these prices, I'm expecting bakery magic, not "slightly upgraded convenience store." The whole experience felt like the cookie version of showing up to a party after everyone already left. Dim lights, dead energy, and one lonely chocolate chip cookie trying its best to carry the reputation of the entire place. I've had worse, but not by much. Two stars. One for being technically open, and one because the cookie did, in fact, exist. For what they charge, mediocrity shouldn't feel this committed.

Frozen custard is what happens when ice cream decides to get serious about its career…read more That was the mood at Whit's Frozen Custard in Coral Springs when my wife and I stopped in and both landed on the blackberry chip flavor of the day. I went with a cup, she chose the waffle cone, which turned out to be the smarter move because that crisp cone with the rich custard was a perfect combo. The first thing that stands out is the texture. This stuff is dense, rich, and incredibly full. Every bite feels smooth and substantial, the kind of frozen dessert that makes regular ice cream seem like it's just winging it. It's deliciously refreshing, but it also has that heavy, creamy body that makes you slow down and actually enjoy it. The blackberry chip was very good, but if I'm being honest, I wanted the berry flavor to hit just a little louder. I've had blackberry ice cream before that really let the fruit sing, and this one felt a little more restrained. Still tasty, still refreshing, just missing that extra berry punch that could have pushed it into five-star territory. Halfway through mine, I actually said, "This texture could make vanilla exciting." That's how good the custard base is here. I also got a taste of the cookies and cream, and that may have stolen a little bit of the spotlight. Creamy, balanced, and loaded with cookie flavor, it instantly became the one I'm eyeing for next time. The place itself is simple, which honestly works in its favor. No frills, no giant menu maze, just vanilla, chocolate, and two flavors of the day made fresh and rotated daily. Checking the calendar ahead of time almost becomes part of the ritual, like seeing what surprise is waiting for you. The staff was friendly, the whole stop was easy, and even with wanting a bit more berry flavor, this was still a really enjoyable dessert run. Easy four stars. Some places wow you with spectacle. Whit's Frozen Custard wins you over with texture, simplicity, and the kind of flavor lineup that gets you planning your next visit on the drive home.
