While the store itself is small it doesn't necessarily need to be large since it's the perfect solution if you are in the area and in need of replacement equipment. Why replace what you need with garbage when you can likely find a quality brand we know and trust at Camp Catskill. The selections of items in each particular outdoor category is small but the owner has arranged each section of the store to provide for the needs of almost any outdoor enthusiast that might stop in to replace equipment or get new stuff. The store is stocked with clothing, hiking gear, camping gear, outdoor accessories and even a small selection of boots. While the selection of boots is small if you find yourself on trail with an unexpected broken boot rest assured you don't have to go far to find a quality boot to get you back on trail especially if you are in the area for a few days camping. I stopped in and left with a shirt and fridge magnet. Not sure why in my old age I seem to be collecting fridge magnets but I find myself buying more of those in my travels.

There is only one negative I have found after almost a year of visiting this shop: the staff seem to dislike the customers. There is never a smile or a hello. They seem like they'd prefer to be a million miles away than working there. The last time I went, I asked for the staff to get me something from the showcase, I apologized for making her stop what she was doing to get it and she gave me the death glare. Another person noticed and mentioned it to me. I wish I could give it 5 stars but I think management has to improve to have happy workers.

This seemed to be incredibly popular, and people waited for quite a while to purchase it, so it must be good! There were countless flavors available, and all of them sounded very good. The owner was there, she was funny and kind and very knowledgeable! Another highlight was a shock, the layout! it was so easy to walk through and get lost in each room, everything was organized and easy to look through. I can't say enough how much that helped, I hate feeling like a bull in a china shop so feeling comfortable walking around was a big factor for me. My partner and I purchased our first antique and have our eye on our next purchase here, giving us an excuse to come back to the beautiful little paradise that is Phoenicia. Thank you Mystery Spot! A Camelot soundtrack album was sticking out, warped slightly by the sun. Over head hung a red upside-down sign that read "MYSTERY SPOT," right next to cheap plastic slogans about Cypress Gardens and Clutter World. My big, lean hound stood on the porch planks, sniffing around the wood like he was trying to catch the scent of a better decade, or just trying to get inside. ​It's the kind of joint that hoards the cool junk of a thousand lives vintage clothes, oddities, records, etcetera. Its the kind of place where they don't care if you buy anything, or just browse and they probably don't care if you leave. My dog didn't bark, the door didn't open, and the sun just kept beating down on the boardwalk planks, so we just sat for a bit and split a sandwich.

They have candles in a variety of themes for owl lovers, mushroom lovers, yoga enthusiasts, etc. While some may find the prices a little steep (I overheard a guy trying to convince his girlfriend to just buy candles in the dollar store because it's so much cheaper), the prices are not terribly unreasonable. Expect to pay a slight premium due to the touristic location but also no shipping and a unique experience.
