ORIGINAL REVIEW: Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience at this salon. I researched beforehand and booked an appointment several days in advance with a nail artist who had great reviews. However, upon arriving, I was moved around to multiple stations and felt pushed off to whoever was available. When the first nail tech didn't understand my request, I offered to simplify it to a solid color. Instead, I was assured that Tran was able to do pink-and-white acrylic ombré and they moved me to his station. My service finally started 15 minutes late. During the appointment, Tran seemed highly distracted, constantly looking around while actively using the e-file on my nails. As he applied the acrylic, it became increasingly obvious he was unfamiliar with the ombré technique. I would have been perfectly fine with a solid color if the salon had just been honest upfront. I sat for the next hour and tried to be patient--I know that I was not successful, but it was a frustrating process. The kind nail tech at the table nearby could tell I was increasingly unhappy. One and a half hours into my appointment she overheard me saying that I had a car appointment because I had not anticipated my nail fill to take well over an hour. She kindly offered to fix it if I came back. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time because I had to pick up my vehicle and immediately leave town. I truly hope this was just an off day for the team, but I am forced to leave with my nails with what can NOT be described as ombré, thick acrylic near the nail base, and overly thinned out nail tips. To make matters worse, one of the nails already broke afternoon I had them done just from running my fingers through my hair. That simply should not happen. read more

When I went to get acrylics removed they filed the FUCK out of my nail beds and it hurts incredibly badly

Me and my mom went there to get mani pedi's and the pedicures were great no problems there. When I went to get a full set gel manicure the lady who did my nails took way longer than expected. She kept getting up every time someone walked in the door or needed to check out when there were other employees to take care of them, which made the service take longer. I don't mind letting someone get trained by doing the service for me but since the one lady that was doing my nails had another lady start my other hand and she was supposed to be doing my mom's nails which took her attention away from my moms manicure. When filing the shape of my nails she cut into my finger and it bled a little and she didn't even acknowledge it. When it came time to check out we spent over $200 because she charged extra for some things she used for my manicure that I didn't ask for. Overall my manicure was sloppy and did not meet expectations. I'm not one for bad reviews, and the gentleman that did my pedicure, Vinny, was amazing, but I will not be back here. read more

I've been going to GDN Nail Bar regularly for close to a year. They have been consistently awesome with the gel mani and gel pedi treatments that I get. I usually see Kyara and sometimes Shay. They both have done amazing work. This salon uses magic remover instead of acetone, so it is much gentler on the nails. I don't even feel discomfort when getting polish removed, which is amazing. There is a wide selection of polishes available. The thing I love about Kyara is that she has the skills to do adventurous things with my nails. For Halloween she did orange and black foil nails, one time she did rose gold chrome nails, and for pride weekend she did rainbow nails for me. There is usually a slight upcharge if you're getting something special. Kyara sometimes comes in early. So, if you're lucky, you can land a before-hours appointment with her. When I first learned that GDN stood for "Guys Do Nails," I was concerned that it was a place for men. It is very friendly for men, women, and non-binary people. The decor is masculine, but it is well done and I always feel pampered when I go here. read more

We started out with that to give my nails time to grow and eventually swap over to acrylics when my nails grow to the desired length! Every visit I've left ecstatic with my sets! I was given a gift certificate to GDN Nail Bar in Wilmington by my daughter. On the front of the paper handwritten certificate it has the normal To: / From: / Amount: etc... However, on the reverse of the certificate, it had a handwritten 1 year validation. unfortunately, I did not think to turn the certificate over to inspect for hidden clues. I called the shop hoping that maybe they would still honor the certificate. It was surely in their right to say "Sorry, we can't honor it". What an AMAZING experience. My friend gave me this recommendation to check out GDN and it is my new go to. When you walk in it's rustic and was spookily decorated. The entire staff was sweet and funny. I got the gel nails which lasted a whole month. They also pay really good attention to your nails and cuticles. Jen, receptionist is rude and condescending. She kept trying to charge me for services that I did not receive because she was insisting that the person who did my services was who she thought it was and it was not. I understand that people want cash tips but usually you have an option so I tried to use the ATM which deducted money out of my account but never gave me any cash so therefore no tips and on top of that when I paid for my services they charged me an additional 4%. I don't mind paying for something but that policy should be posted and when I questioned it she was so nasty and said yeah we just pass those prices along. The saddest part is that the technicians were very good they did very nice manicures and pedicures. I will never go back there and I warn everyone to stay away. read more
