My husband and I went in on a Friday morning just after they opened to get pedicures. They were pretty busy, but they were able to get us right in. The pedicures were good. I then decided to go ahead and get a gel manicure too. I like this place because it didn't take forever to get my nails and toes done. They were friendly, but not too chatty. I'm very satisfied with the results of my manicure and the pedicures as well as the cost of $95. We will be back again. read more

I moved to the area in 2013. I have went here off and on since then. the last time I went Kim and the gentleman that works were arguing back and forth while he did my nails. I had a close friend come in that day while he was working on me. Kim shewed him away and he started a pedi on my friend. One of my nails didn't come out great but I needed to get in the road. After I left my friend heard the gentleman talking about her legs. And was laughing. Kim is still denying this happened. like just apologize for what happened and how it was handled. I'm not planning on going back wit which is unfortunate since they are so close to my house. Body shaming is not okay. I will continue to spread the word about your customer service. read more

I had a friend come here and be body shamed this morning. Not only am I leaving a bad review here, but I will also be writing to the BBB and to the Board of Cosmetology on your salon. NO ONE should be body shamed. And you know exactly what you did because the owner came over to try and smooth it over dismissing her feelings. You are supposed to be running a professional business. She came into your salon to give your business her hard-earned money, to feel relaxed and enjoy her time off. I would give no stars if I could. This "business" is super unprofessional. They allow their employees to body shame women on their looks. The other patrons are correct. The staff answers the phones but do not write appointments down in a book or system. I asked twice when we arrived if they had our appointments written down and two different staff people said that Kim manages the schedule. They seem confused that we wanted three pedicures at a time, specifically what I asked for when I scheduled the appointment. My two guests sat in pedicure chairs, one had a pedicure right away and the other had to wait until the first guest was done (same nail tech). For me, I couldn't hear my nail tech, her voice was so soft. She asked me questions that I couldn't hear. The nail tech next to us had to repeat the question for me to answer. The biggest drawback of the place was the equipment, it looked dirty, dusty and as old as long as the place has been open. I'm talking about nail tools, boxes, infrared dryers, chairs, and wrist pads. Even the plexiglass fell on my head when I bumped it because it wan't secured with a cross-stand. The drywall is scratched and needs to be painted. I had to ask for toilet paper for the bathroom. I even thought I heard a nail tech say use paper towels. They finally gave me a roll and I had to air dry my hands after I used the toilet. Get real! They lost revenue because by the time my first guest was done with a pedicure and a manicure and my second guest was done with a pedicure, my nail-dip appointment was done. We didn't have time for me to have a a pedicure. My nail tech said I had yellow nails and wanted to put a special gel on my fingers, costing me another $10. Slow service. Unorganized and sloppy work. Sat in a chair for two hours for a gel pedicure and it still turned out sloppy. My nail was chopped off without asking what length I want. Lovely people work here but the salon stinks at making appointments with manicurists that you want. Essentially they give you whoever is available so if you request someone by name you are not guaranteed that manicurist. Never on time either. An appointment to the salon just means you have priority over a walk in. On a positive note they do a beautiful job. read more

Have been going to a gentle nails for years, Kim the owner, for a powder gel mani once a month. She is very good at her craft, not good in customer service. I always ask for the first appointment don't want to wait around always go in the make sure she writes in in her book. She has left me waiting for 45 minutes she forgot to come in, once I was five minutes late and she took someone ahead of me. The last incident was the final straw, she gave me the manicure, at the end of which she said do you want them a little shorter, I said okay. Went to pay, she said said 32 dollars, I said you raised the price, she said 2 dollars extra for shorter nails. I was furious, I won't be back. Beware. read more

My granddaughters have gotten their nails done there several times and they do an excellent job each time. I talked my husband into going with me a little over a year ago for a pedicure...he didn't want to because he didn't consider it "manly" and he loved it. He said his feet never felt so good. He has now gone back twice, without me. It's the only place I go to get my eyebrows waxed. I am very picky with them and they do the best job. I had been going to a different nail salon in Leland, but due to traffic, I decided to give Gentle Nails another try. I hadn't been there in several years. I was in for quite a surprise. My first trip there consisted of simple, standard offerings from a sweet older couple. The salon has changed drastically! They offer just about anything you want! They have every kind of nail, 3-D, designs, art, it's awesome. I was in the mood for pampering so I chose the $45.00 pedicure. I was not disappointed. I got a long, wonderful massage and a paraffin dip for my feet. Honestly the softest my feet have ever been post pedicure. I also got a set of crystal nails. The tips themselves have glitter and stars. I love them! The best part is, it didn't take forever, the nail salon I was going to would have taken 3 hours for a pedi and nails. This was just over an hour. I was thrilled with the results, too. Best part? They offer customer loyalty cards, so many punches and you get a free service. Awesome, right? They also give you a full size Bath and Body works lotion if you spend 60 dollars (which I did that day). However, I went in for a fill and it was less than 20 before tip. I would have to say I would not recommend this place to anybody they don't have enough people working in there. they don't they say they can do hand free design which is bs. Also I got my nails done on Thursday I live in Wilmington I called before I left today so to tell I have a broken nail to see if they were opening and she said come on over I get there I drove all the way there and she tells me that I have a long way because she has three ahead of me and which she could probably do me in between and tell me to come back tomorrow which I will never be going back again come to find out I went to another place and They looked at my nails and they told me all they used on me was acrylic when I ask for Gel acrylic and I was charge for gel Acrylic. I am very particular about my nails so believe me when I say that this is the best place I have found in the Leland area to have my nails done. They give the best pedicure I've ever had complete with hot stones and a leg massage. The prices are reasonable, the staff friendly and the place very clean. Highly recommend giving them a try. Best pedicure I have ever had!!! They use hot stones, scrubs, lotions, and more. You will walk out with your feet feeling wonderful. The only thing I would change is that they need to communicate with me, instead of with each other. Don't get me wrong they talked a little bit to me but mostly to themselves or on the phone.... That just made me feel a little uncomfortable. I still will be back. Like I said best pedicure I have ever had. Just hoping for more interaction rather than them talking and laughing amongst each other in a language I don't know. It is a absolutely gorgeous nail spa. Everything was so clean and organized.
