The staff were unfriendly, very short with customers, and communication was difficult because of the language barrier. I often had trouble understanding what was being said, and I never felt like anyone took the time to make sure we understood each other. What frustrated me most was that no one asked how I wanted my nails done. Instead of discussing shape, length, or preferences, they simply did what they wanted. The service also felt very rushed and rough. While filing my nails, the technician actually filed into the skin along the side of one of my nails, causing it to bleed and leaving it sore afterward. I also had an issue with their scheduling policies. I had to cancel an appointment but immediately rescheduled for another time. When I checked out after my rescheduled appointment, I was unexpectedly charged a $30 cancellation fee. This fee was never disclosed when I made the appointment, wasn't communicated when I rescheduled, and I couldn't find it posted anywhere in the salon. Charging customers an undisclosed fee after the fact is unacceptable. On top of everything else, the salon did not appear as clean as I would expect for a business that performs nail services, which left me uncomfortable. There are many other nail salons in the Kenai area that value customer service, communication, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst salon experiences I've had, and I won't be returning. I cannot recommend Aurora Nails Spa.

She has a huge selection of nail colors in regular, gel & powder forms. All of her equipment goes through an autoclave and many of her products come in individual packages. Cleanliness is a priority with her. It's a very relaxing atmosphere with soft music. Quynh is very sweet and enjoyable to visit with. I highly recommend Quynh's if you want a highly professional manicure or pedicure in a quiet, relaxing environment.

So, my maid of honor decided not to get a pedicure as there were only 3 chairs available and it would have taken so much longer to do hers afterwards. One nail tech alternated between me and my other two bridesmaids... it took SO long. The girl was nice enough, but the nail polish did not look good at the end. Plus, all she did was rub some stuff on my feet and paint my nails... no scrubbing or cuticle care whatsoever. Very sub par. When it was time to do our nails, another lady was available. So two of us were able to get our nails done at a time while the other two waited. It took SO long to get through three of us that one of my bridesmaids decided not to get her nails done (at this point we had been at the place for THREE hours & had to get to dinner reservations soon). It took my maid of honor an hour and a half to get her full set done as the person doing her nails (the OWNER) kept getting up to talk to other workers, use the bathroom, answer her phone, etc. I made it clear to the lady that we needed to go ASAP & that she needed to hurry up. She promised they'd be done in 10 minutes and half an hour later she still hadn't finished (but had time to get up and go over to the computer to google what the male version of a cougar is called... really?!). This experience was a disaster from beginning to end. It shouldn't take 3 and half hours to get a mani & pedi. Totally disappointing. They knew we were a wedding party yet apparently didn't give a crap that their terrible service meant one bridesmaid couldn't get her nails done & that the maid of honor couldn't get her toes done. And worst of all... my wedding was 2 days later & my UV gel polish (which isn't supposed to chip for up to 2 weeks) had already started peeling off my nails. Dirty foot baths and personnel in the salon airing there dirty laundry and fighting in front of customers. Water was scalding in the foot bath then freezing. Then I sat for 30 mins waiting while the girl walked around and ignored me. I don't recommend this place. But I gave it two stars because the girl who did the pedi was eventually nice and didn't do a terrible job.

Amanda is very attentive to your requests regarding the type of massage you want, any specific requests and if you have any sensitive areas. She also plays very soothing music at a good volume (not too loud or quiet). The room itself is ok, although it is easy to hear the noise from outside. Whenever we are visiting the area, we will definitely be coming back.
