I also called another office and learned they were not taking new patients but the owner/psychiatrist there spent quite a bit of time on the phone advising me how to best help my friend. I actually offered to pay him for his time with me since he spent a significant amount of time educating me but he refused to take any payment. These experiences really highlighted how differently Rittenhouse Psychiatric operates and also highlights how focused they are on money rather than patient care. They even tell you on their general voicemail, before you even have an opportunity to speak to anyone, about their requirements for credit card up front since they don't accept insurance. Seems super creepy to me.
