First, let's talk vibe. Check customer service is 10/10, and if I could go higher, I would considering the artist I spoke with and who did my tattoo is 24 and being a little seasoned, customer service is a lot of art, and like his tattoo skill David is great with people (don't ever lose this). The shop is clean, including the bathroom, and things like that matter. We were running, and David was responsive to my text and super chill about it. David took his time to explain the different size options and how it impacts the longevity of the tattoos ( I have six other tattoos, and no one ever mentioned this). Once David got started, he checked on my pain tolerance to make sure I was good. It did such a great job that I contemplated getting a second tattoo there. Just had a fantastic experience at this shop for my first tat! The shop is small but cool, lots of drawings all over the walls, nice tunes playing, and they do a good job of cleaning the stations. All the staff were cool and really funny, so it made for a great vibe that made me feel really comfortable. They're all super up front with clients, and I love the aim of keeping great tattoos reasonably priced. From what I've seen of everyone's work, they're all super talented--and that definitely goes for J, who did my piece which I LOVE. I had my second ink at Mind Crusher with Eva. In as much, it was my second visit with Eva as well. I can't say enough good things about Mind Crusher and especially Eva. My first visit with her was smooth and easy going despite the fact she said that she was relatively new to the craft. She gave me exactly what I wanted, never once rushed me, made it as painless as possible, and delivered a perfect outcome. I was thrilled with her work, and told her I'd be back in a few months for my birthday for the next one. Again, Eva was patient and professional​. She made sure what I wanted was perfect, and started to work. Unbeknownst to me, I had selected one of the most painful spots on the body to put a tattoo, and it hurt like hell. Not only was Eva comforting and encouraging​, but someone who I believe to be the manager came over to help readjust me so my skin was in better position for the ink and it should take some of the edge off. He made sure I was as comfortable as I could be, and said to let him know if I needed anything. But I was in good hands with Eva. She knocked it out, I survived ​and got exactly what I wanted. We even discussed my next one, which will be in a much better place as far as pain goes. "If you can get through that, you can pretty much do anything." Eva, and whoever that guy is, who must be pretty popular because I overheard him tell someone that he was booked through May, both rock. Mind crusher is great. The prices are fair, the place is intimate and real, yet comfortable at the same time. I have two more to do and then I'm done, but rest assured that I'll be going to see Eva at Mind Crusher. Eva is available days M-F. Both times I called the day of or before and pretty much walked in. However, both times there were people waiting as well. If you're looking for a piercing, you can definitely find somewhere better. The prices are good but went to get nipples pierced, and Nicole gave me two noticeably different sized balls one one of the nipples. During the piercing, I spend a couple minutes waiting for the jewelry to be put in for the second nipple due to her fumbling. Only to realize a day after that was the nipple that got two different sized balls. There is no separate room either so felt a little exposed from the front window not being covered during my piercing. Better yet, went to go get it fixed but she is the only piercer and is not there on Tuesdays or Thursdays. The owner Rick has decent customer service and helped as much as he could by giving the right sized ball. However the wrong ball would not unscrew and I ended up going to a different shop to get it fixed. Normally would not make a big deal out of this but save your time, and find somewhere else. Pretty unfortunate that they only have one person who knows the slightest bit about piercings. read more

I came in with 3 friends to get small finger and ankle tattoos -- after asking about pricing at a few different shops in Chicago, we found out that Mind Crusher had the best prices for finger tattoos (and I think for most other tattoos as well). We came in on a Sunday evening and there was just one other customer there, so Nestor started with us right away. This is a mixed review. I originally came in on Sat, May 29th and talked to an artist about two tats; one on my right calf and the second one on my arm that would also be a cover up. The former was scheduled with another artist and completed on June 7. It was great and I'm very happy with it. Unfortunately the proposed one on my arm never happened. Seven weeks later I have nothing to show for it, not even a full sketch (I was told 75% of it was done on July 8). I get the shop has been very busy, and artists need time to create a sketch, but what I experienced was missed deadlines and statements of scheduling me which were set by the artist themself (which never happened), in addition to no communication unless I initiated contact. (Almost) two months is a long time to have to wait for an official consultation, complete sketch, follow-up and attempt at scheduling to come in when most of that didn't happen. I really like supporting local businesses in my neighborhood, but this would be a hard one to stand by going forward. read more

I decided to check out Mind Crusher because of all the artwork and prices on the website and facebook page. I had to be in Joliet for some training for work so I decided to drive up to Chicago since I was so close. The shop was very clean and the staff was awesome. The tattoo isn't even healed up yet and I have received several compliments on it. I could not believe the price that he quoted me for a large tattoo on my chest in full color. I was prepared to pay at least twice the price (I have been quoted as much as four times the amount Kevin Charged me). I am still blown away by how inexpensive a competition grade tattoo was at this shop. Do yourself a favor and check them out for daily specials (they were doing $30 piercings and tattoos while I was there). I will post a pic on Yelp when it heals so you can see what I am talking about. The owner/artist Kevin will be doing tattoos at the Indianapolis Tattoo Convention at the end of September. I have found the best tattoo shop. First off Kevin's work is phenomenal. Since I know nothing about tattooing, I defer to the artist to let me now what might look better. My tattoo was done by Bear and its looks amazing. The line are straight, it's all I wanted and more, he's an awesome artist. The only thing holding me back from a 5 star review is I have scheduled an appointment the day before and was waiting around for half an hour after the time I was scheduled for, there seemed to be a miscommunication somewhere and it was inconvenient. Aside from the scheduling trouble I love my tattoo and you should definitely get a tattoo at this shop. Got my cartilage pierced here as well. Jon is awesome! I been meaning to write this review but kept forgetting..i went in to get a tattoo back in september 2014..i went when they first opened for the day so it was pretty empty..at the time i had no idea they where remodeling and was alittle thrown back by the look..anyways kevin(the owner) helped me out..looked at my pic then gave me a price..ok.. about 20mins he got to work and i was getting my tattoo..this wasnt my first tattoo(this was my 14th tattoo) but yet he was still very nice! He explained to me the colors he chose and why (im darker skinned so sometimes color doesnt stay so well on me!) the tattoo took alittle over a hr to do..but he did stop and talk to his other workers,on the phone,etc..i didnt mind...he was real friendly the whole time..made me feel very comfortable! I was very pleased at how it came out! The colors look great! So its been over 6months and it still looks great!! The blues are still viberant! The white is still white! Kevin told me i have a life time guarantee! Anytime it needs touching up to come in and he will hook me up! He also gave me a business card with $40off next tatto! Sweet!
