    Rosmerry working with my daughter
    Joani O.

My daughter was having a reaction to the piercing she got at another shop and it needed to be seen. It looked infected, so she found this place and asked me to take her. The first thing we noticed was all the sanitizers and signs asking you to clean your hands and wipe your feet. And the place is not only nice looking on the inside, but immaculate! Gave us a comfortable feeling. We connected with Rosmerry who took us into her room, had my daughter lie down, and she confirmed that the piercing was good but the jewelry, which was stainless steel, had caused the irritation. She removed it, thoroughly cleaned and disinfected her skin, and recommended titanium at a higher cost but safer option. Rosmerry has her certifications on the wall; again a good feeling. She said she loves her job, and it showed. She showed her a lot of jewelry and explained the entire process. We were done within 30 minutes and my daughter couldn't be happier. I of course had to foot the bill m, but now at least she has better quality jewelry that she shouldn't be allergic to. We are fans!

Horrible experience that landed me in the ER. Went here to get a cartridge piercing. For reference, I had my cartilage pierced five years ago but it developed a keloid so after a year, I removed the jewelry. It has been untouched for three to four years. I told the piercer, Rosemary, that I wanted either a forward helix or another helix piercing but wanted her to look at the previous piercing first to let me know if she thought it would keloid again. If she said yes, I probably wouldn't have gone through with it. She asked to look at it and before I knew it, she had put a bar in the previous piercing and told me it was still open so I should just stick with it. I did not want her to do this and even though she said it was still open, I was in immense pain which I told her. I asked her to stop but she pushed the bar in extremely fast. So without getting consent, she essentially re-pierced this area and damaged the keloid. This all happened on Saturday. I was in immense pain daily. On Tuesday it began leaking fluid and I had swollen lymph nodes in my neck and felt horribly sick. After a very expensive ER visit, oral and topical antibiotics, and a very painful removal, the doctor said I had a really bad infection and if I hadn't come in, I would have risked surgery. At the ER I called and spoke with the manager who told me that he had never heard of anyone getting an infection after a piercing (really?) and if I wanted a refund, I had to bring the jewelry back as he thought it was a scam. If I could give zero stars, I would. From the infection to the absolutely horrible and insulting customer service, I would avoid at all costs. Hopefully this picture proves this is far from a scam...

Came in when they were opening. Rosemary (sp?) did my dimple piercings. Very friendly. Very clean & professional. Reasonable price + 10% first time customer discount (on their website). Had to come in three weeks later because the ball unscrewed from the post, they were very nice and replaced it with no charge. Highly recommend for piercings.

My sisters and I decided to go get matching tattoos with our Moms heart beat (who recently passed). It was a last minute thing and we're glad to know we did not need an appointment! Walk-ins are welcome! The staff greeted us in such a professional and really listened to what we were looking to get. I personally got service from Jaime who was just great! Listened to what I wanted to get done and even fixed another tattoo I had. The staff is super down to earth and chill. What we got looks very simple but even simple can turn out bad. Would definitely recommend 10/10!

    TATTOO!! RAIDERS!!!

WELL WELL WELL... It was my first time coming to Chicago Ink for my first tattoo!! IRVIN and the crew are top notch people. Irvin took his time and precisly designed my tat and got to work and took 2 1/2 hours (shading and etc). Overall, I love the tattoo that he gave me and will come back for another one! Excellent guys!! hope you see this!!!

The space was comfortable and clean, and everyone was so nice and helpful. I got an arguably silly tattoo, but they took it seriously from start to finish! I've felt awkward about asking for weird or specific tattoos before, but I felt so at home and respected here, even being from out of town! It was an easy and fun experience, and the cost was well below what I expected to pay for a quality tattoo in this day and age, especially work as nice as I got. I'm not local to the area so I can't say if I'll be back anytime soon, but will definitely be recommending this lovely shop to my friends in the region!

Extra thanks to the service staff for pulling portfolios behind the counter!! Chicago Tattooing is welcoming, clean, easy to work with, and employs only the most qualified artists. You're in great hands regardless of which artist you work with! I will ALWAYS recommend Chicago Tattooing to anyone. Whether it's your first or your fortieth, this place will take care of you.

Sharing this story as a warning. Think before you Ink and please do your research on your artist…read more On 04/18/2025, I went to Tatti (not my first time with her) for a tattoo of a pair of wings. What was supposed to be meaningful and exciting turned into one of my biggest regrets. The wings came out crooked, asymmetrical, and poorly placee, a mistake I now have to live with. The moment I saw the finished product, I felt instant regret. To make matters worse, despite knowing how upset I was, she tried to post about the tattoo on her social media, making excuses as to why this did not come out good. I felt like my tramatic experience was used for her social media branding as she had such little regard for me as a client. Her bedside manner only added to the trauma. She minimized my concerns instead of taking accountability, forgetting that I would be the one wearing her mistake permanently. In the end, she did refund me, but that barely scratches the surface of the damage. I am now undergoing painful and expensive tattoo removal sessions that cost many times more than the original tattoo. She did offer up rework, but after spending hundreds consulting with reputable artists, they said there is a huge structual issue with this tattoo and corrections/cover ups would be high-risk. This has been a truly traumatic experience, and I share it so others can avoid going through the same.

I had high expectations for Kvitka, but even after those were deflated, I remained optimistic that…read moreperhaps my tattoo retouch would go more smoothly. I also gave Kvitka the benefit of the doubt that it was an off day, but unfortunately my experience was not reflective of the reviews or the experiences shared. I came in for 3 tiny tattoos. The artist told me that the price would be $500 total USD, not including the tip. I had $100 I was preparing for the tip, but my total ended up being much higher than originally agreed upon so my tip had to be decreased to $40. My surprise came at the invoice, but specifically the charge for a $15 service fee. Now, Kvitka is a Russian-speaking company, and they operate with no guests allowed, and incredibly high prices for artists with limited experience, and they should have reached out warning about the no heat and asking to reschedule or not. I had the most uncomfortable time simply from being cold in there. I was close to being there for 4 hours. Now, I had sent in multiple photos of all 3 fine line tiny tattoos that the artist said she'd have stencils ready to go and I discussed in specific detail expeditions. Kvitka's location is horribly hidden with little instruction on this, but upon my final arrival they in a giggly tone, wearing sweaters and coats, share that their heater is broken. This is December. I'm freezing in a tank top. I even looked past this as I was genuinely excited for my tattoos. Even when my artist was late to the appointment by about 15 minutes, I didn't bat an eye. But then the fonts she had picked did not at all match what I sent. So I had to wait for her to do the sketch for the stencil on top of that. But alas, I was so excited that I did not mind the extra 45 minutes spent. Except for the tattoos I got, the should have been out of their in 45 minutes and not the total of over 3.5 hours to get 3 tiny tattoos done. Don't forget that they also do a mini photoshoot (no statement stating that they will post you) but they do not even care enough to show you the pictures you had to pose for I'm the freezing room so they could promote their business. But the real reason for this review is: my artist told me that I had to come back in January because (she had only been an artist for less than2 years) and was worried about making the line too thick so I would have to come back in 2 months. There would be a $50 touch up fee. Silly me, I also overlooked this not recognizing that the artist could not confidently do fine line artistry, and I was expected to pay more because of this. I was even happy to. But to my shock, when I reached out asking to book a spot for January, as I was told, the artist berated me and accused me of not properly using the "ointment" she gave me and refusing to even remember who I was. She made me send in all of my tattoos in pictures over instagram DM to her, and then blamed it on my dry skin. She would not rebook with me, her tone changing and not at all what she acted like prior to my payment of $600 for tattoos that she told me were her own personal reason for not being filled in due to her lack of experience, and then refused to even touch me up for $50/tattoo. The studio is small, freezing (although I hope it was only that day), artists gossiping in Russian, and they are charging fees for artists that have much more talent, professionalism, and integrity in their work and business practices.
