He was down to earth and took time to get to know us. The lobby was decorated nicely (but not crazy). After signing our forms and getting a briefing, we received a story about the room and were placed into a very cool bio lab. From there on, the room was DIFFICULT. We had 4 players altogether and it was tough! We were one puzzle away from winning the game but our time ran out! Definitely don't overthink everything which you can easily do. We have a team of 3 and escaped the Biohazard Room with ~11 minutes to spare. WHAT WE LOVED: The room was engaging and high quality. I personally love a room that is immersive and this room made me feel like I was THERE. The story was consistent and generally logical. There was a good amount of puzzles and they were challenging/satisfying! Oh and Christian was an absolute GEM! WHAT SETS IT APART: One of our members had a different starting place and our first mission was to get her out. Unfortunately for us, we picked the smartest one so it probably took us a bit longer than it should have... it was still different and fun! BONES TO PICK: Our person that was separated felt a little helpless and wished there was more she could do while the others flailed trying to release her. She wasn't sitting there twiddling her thumbs but she couldn't do as much as she would have wanted to. Also, this is minor but we aren't used to having to use an item more than once after its helped solve a different puzzle. For Veterans, just make sure you throw the "one and done" rule away. OVERALL: a great experience and fun for both beginners and seasoned veterans! We will go again in the future especially once the other rooms are updated!

Had so much fun here this past weekend!…read more Upon entering you are prompted to pay and sign your waiver which is a very quick process. My friend and I went on a Friday night at around 7:30 PM and the wait was not long at all. There is a full bar and even live music which was a pleasant surprise to see! It a great hang out spot even if you opt out of throwing axes. Once you are assigned a lane an instructor walks you over and goes over safety rules as well as how to properly throw the axe and tally points. After some tries by myself, they realized I was struggling and offered a personalized lesson. They were patient with me and gave me many different strategies to use to perfect my throw. While embarrassed at how bad I truly was, it was really comforting that they took the time to teach me without judgement. By the end of it, I have to say I was fairly confident and was landing it on the board almost every time, which made my experience a lot more enjoyable (even getting a bullseye might I add). Our Back Yard Play Place is more like a 3.5 than a 4 but I don't think worthy of a solid three…read morestars. This place is pretty big. Being on top of the bowling alley, this give kids and family extra time together (or separate if the kids go play by themselves while the parents bowl, which seems to be the case here). There are a great deal of inflatable bounce houses and one giant obstacle course, a ropes tower with a slide, rock wall, some arcade games, and a few birthday party rooms. For two kids to play for 1 1/2 hours was $24 total. Seemed like a pretty good deal considering there's no other place quite like this and it keeps the kids active and happy. It is dingy and there are quite a few broken arcade games that they just decide that they're never going to fix (I've been here a few times). You pay 25-50 cents per game or a dollar to play air hockey, basketball, or a motorcycle game. There are no tickets so you're really only playing to have fun, not win prizes. There is a coin machine (it's slow) to give you quarters for the games. During my most recent visit, the basketball machine broke on us so that was interesting. Other than the rinky dink "arcade" (which is kind of just scattered around the bounce houses), this is a fun place with plenty of room for the kids to run around.

Burroughs is a great asset to the community. They offer meeting spaces, activities for children, a…read morecommunity garden, citizenship classes and English language learning opportunities, among other services. I'm a big fan of the "Our Woven Community" program. It supports refugee women with opportunities to make and sell beautiful handbags, scarves and other items. I recently bought two tote bags as gifts for friends. The bags were lovely, unique, and each one included a biography of the woman who created it. My friends loved them! Our Woven Community doesn't have an official shop space in the Burroughs building, so I called ahead and when I got there the receptionist showed me bins full of items for sale. They also sell the products online and at craft fairs, farmers markets, etc. Half the proceeds go to the women directly, and the other half pays for supplies, equipment, and entrepreneurial skills training.

The building is beautiful, always clean and has an attendant in the front when you enter. The meeting space in each room is perfect. The quality of the sitting and space to do presentations are great. Everywhere I've been in the building is always clean, including the bathroom. Definitely a great value to utilize space here.
