Dr. Karen Rudy (Boulder CO location) has been an absolute life saver for me, as well as also just being a truly fantastic human being. Funny, talkative, warm and still also professional and communicative. I have never had as incredible of an experience with any medical professional as I have with her. I've been seeing her for about 5 months now, primarily to treat severe ADHD. I had a horrendously difficult time continuing my treatment after moving from out of state due to my medication being a controlled substance and me not being given access to my original diagnostic paperwork from when I was a teenager. She listened to all of my concerns, helped me figure out my goals for treatment, and personally retested and re-diagnosed me with ADHD - something other doctors had implied was too difficult or simply not an option. She was amazing about helping me decide what dosage would be best for me and at no point made me feel judged or dissuaded for wanting to pursue specific medications or dosages, something I've had issues with in the past through different medical professionals. She struck the perfect balance of helpful suggestions that were natural/OTC/holistic while also being able to acknowledge and support traditional medicine, and to top it off set me up with the perfect therapist for my underlying issues. I cannot stress enough how wonderful she is. My life dramatically changed for the better and that could not have happened had I not had her absolute support. My anxiety has gone from severe to mild, my ADHD is so well managed that my boss has commended me for my performance at work (and given me a pay raise!), I have finally accomplished tasks that otherwise would've taken me years to even start, and those in my personal life have said I am visibly much happier. I'm almost sad that I'm now well established and stable because it means I'll be seeing her less often! If you or a loved one is struggling with any aspect of their mental health, I absolutely want you to go and see Dr. Rudy. She is a gem and I am lucky to have her as a cornerstone of my medical team. *Newly updated Review* First off it's actually easy to get an appointment in a short amount of time since they have several providers who can see you online or in person with a few conveniently placed locations around the metro area. This is great to have with the shortage of mental health practitioners that patients must deal with today. If you need to speak to a real person they are only a call or text away! They will also do all the annoying work with your health insurance. If you have to pay out of pocket they are quite reasonable as well (best price for ketamine therapy, and it's not even close). If you need help with ADHD, Depression, Anxiety and all the other conditions Mindful Minds Psychiatry is here for you! You basically get all the convenience of an online psychiatric "app" but also are able to see a provider in person that has a real office and a working phone number. The best of both worlds: online and/or brick & mortar locations. It has been a pleasure to watch this practice expand rapidly in just a couple years. I've been seeing Dr Abbey for about a year now. She is so kind and compassionat, and has literally been a life saver. When my health issues began in Jan, my PCP was sitting on her hands and not taking me serious. Abbey helped me get an EEG study done and we leaned that I may have a seizure disorder. Through all of this she has really been SO kind and personable...she was even willing to speak to my partner about seizures affecting behavior. I think the world of her and cannot say enough good! my experience has been great from my very first call. They made it easy for me to make my appointment and the receptionist was warm and kind, this is my first ever seeing someone about my mental health and I'm glad I took my first step. I get seen via telehealth, by their professional staff in Boulder and I absol love it. If I need anything, big or small, my provider has an assistant who I can directly text and she takes great care of me. She is quick to respond and help with any questions I may have for my provider. Hadn't had this good of an experience with a psychiatrist before. read more
