I absolutely feel terrible about leaving a negative review. I planned a mother daughter day to have pedicures and manicures and made an appointment for 2:00 PM. We showed up and the technicians got started. I paid for an upgraded pedicure for both of us; my daughter did not get the services that we paid for, and was finished in less than 15 minutes. The services offered themselves, were stated to be 12 minute massage, hot towel, wrap, lava rock, massage, none of this could've happened that quickly... She's only 14 so the technician just went right through. When I questioned her, she really didn't answer me directly. I was sitting right next to her, and my technician was unfortunately not as experienced in understanding language (Which I fully support as I teach at Lincoln Literacy, Volunteer with ESL job seekers, and have no ill will towards anyone in the process of learning English) Regardless of what happened, she had taken the nail clippers and cut all of my toenails down to the quick on my right foot. I then needed four fake nails (tips) , which, as a runner is not ideal... they were way too short to even paint, and so I was left with really no choice... She didn't understand the difference between hot and cold water, and it was too hot and she turned it all the way cold and then there was no relaxing scent in it... I just tried to explain how she could leave it somewhere in the middle. They kept sending a translator over, which I really tried to work with, but it just wasn't working out... Since she could not understand what I was saying, they sent another lady over who refused to tell me her name until she finished doing my toes... I asked and said I would be kind enough to tip the first technician and just wanted to understand who I was speaking with, still being very polite. After finally finishing my toenails, my daughter already had her French tip manicure completed... All they had to do was paint my toenails white. It took over two hours for them to figure that out. By the time they were finished, the shellac is so thick. It looks like someone just use white out on my feet. It's awful! I have one hand, and I simply asked to quickly have mine done, and they said, " No!" I had to go somewhere else. We had this appointment scheduled, their aero should not have penalized us. At this point, I had already racked up almost $200 worth of services and they would not do my one hand, and I missed spending the time with my daughter. Obviously, I was mortified and embarrassed, having to go through this in public. I lost my left hand to cancer... It's already embarrassing enough for me to be in public and they were awful to me. I had to rush and go somewhere else to get my right hand done. The owner (I assume that's who I was working with or the manager) completely ruined the only mother daughter day I've had this summer. Both my daughter and I were both morbidly embarrassed, and she went out to the car crying and imagine how I felt as a mother. I am absolutely shocked that they would treat customers this way when they make an error and a mistake like they did on my feet. I'm not going to be able to run until I have these fake tips removed, and I had to pay $160 for them; now I have to go somewhere and have both feet fixed. I ended up having to pay for them regardless... I even stated I'm also a business owner and I would not treat my customers this way, but there was no budging, and they were awful and screaming at me- I was calm, slightly crying, apologetic, and just nearly confused that this was happening... They weren't closing for another two hours. This was by far worst customer service I've ever experienced. I would not recommend this business to anyone. They also gave my 14-year-old girl nails that are much too long for her and her activities that she's in. The tips of her "pearl shaped" nails are sharp enough to cut skin. They're supposed to be slightly rounded, but they didn't do those correctly for her either... She was just too shy to say anything. I have had terrible experiences every time I go to this place. They literally grind your nails down and they look so awful when growing out. It leaves your nails, thin and fragile! This just happens to be the photo I took, but this has happened on multiple occasions. The atmosphere in this place is also less than ideal. What is the point in making an appointment if it isn't respected? Today my sister and I had scheduled back to back nail services. She at 3pm, me at 4pm. She finished at 3:45. I arrived at 4pm on the dot. They had my nail tech take back another appt during that 15 minutes. When I approached the front desk, and they know me here, the receptionist looked at me like "so?" SO, I left. I have been going to Mindy's since I moved to Lincoln, 1 1/2 years ago, and referred countless people to this place. Trust me. A Lot of people. But no more. And I'm sure that they don't care, since they are essentially herd people in and out like cattle. I always knew that, BUT they had always accommodated me properly. However, this was the SECOND time this has happened. I just don't have time to waste. Who does? Anyway, I just ended up at the MOST beautiful, gorgeous, magnificent nail place. they used to be good, but my latest experience was very bad. The technician drilled my nails all the way to the nail bed taking off the previous shellac manicure. then the new shellac looked terrible - transparent, bubbles, dark spots, smudges. them then the scoped off on 2 days. and my nails are so weak, thin, and damaged every movement still hurts. and it's been two weeks. read more

New to the area and decided to try out Mindy's based on a recommendation. It was an early Mother's Day gift for myself and my daughter. I have had gel manicures for years with DND polish. This was lumpy and bubbling. I did go back to have it redone which they did without charge. The front desk tech said sometimes the polish can be an issue which I understand. She came to address the ongoing issue with the original nail tech when I pointed out that the new polish still had bubbles . She changed the top coat bottle and it seemed to correct the issue. The original nail tech seemed annoyed that I was dissatisfied and rushed through the process, hitting my nails several times when repositioning the UV light to cure. It was not a pleasant experience and I wouldn't go back to her. How you handle a dissatisfied customer speaks volumes about your business culture. Treat a customer well even when a mistake is made and you have a customer for life. I appreciated them willing to correct the issues with my manicure but didn't appreciate the impatient and rude attitude from the nail tech. For this reason I won't return. read more

I had a very bad experience here. When I got to the appointment, I was lead to the area where you pick your colors for dip. The employee assigned to me asked me what color I was looking for as I was looking and I indicated that I was looking for a shade of pink. She instructed me to put down the color book and lead me to the table to start and let me know that she already had a pink at her station. She proceeded to do my nails with whatever pink shade that she already had at her station and did not allow me to change it or pick out a shade that I wanted. This place is so hit or miss. Sometimes you get in quick, get a great nail tech, and your mani or pedi lasts forever. However, there are also times they are so packed it's standing room only and their "15 min" estimate is more like an hour. It also seems like they have a lot of turn over. I almost never see the same employees, besides the owner. Fun fact, she used to be at Pinks on Old Cheney. They are now closed. 4 stars since I've had more good experiences than bad. Well I've tried Mindys nails twice. I got a pedicure and full set. I asked them how much the service was going to cost she gave one price while i was in the chair and a completely different price once I got to the counter. I then decided I would go get my lashes done hoping for a better experience. I called ahead to make sure someone would be there to provide the service because I didn't have a lot of time. My tech left during the middle of my pedicure for 10 minutes; returned with no explanation. The water was lukewarm. She cut the skin on one of my toes which was quite painful, led to some bleeding, and she told me that I cut my toenails incorrectly and that's why I was bleeding. My mom and I came in the evening and it was busy and we had to wait for a little bit which is no problem. But then the head lady brought us both back to our spots and took even longer for someone to come attend to us and get started. I was getting a pedicure and my mom got a manicure. The lady that did my pedicure was very demanding and just pushed my feet when she wanted me to put them else where. During my pedicure, the nail tech cut my toe and made me bleed when she was picking my cuticles. So now I have a cut around my toenail. I got half way through my pedicure and my mom still hadn't been helped. Plus they didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink and every other nail salon I've been to has. I was very disappointed in the service I received here. I've been here before they switched locations and they were great so that is why I decided to come back. I had the basic manicure, basically to get my cuticles trimmed. My nails are super short right now so I just went with the standard, not shellac, polish. The tech did a great job but there is no place to dry standard polish, other than to just sit there. After 4 applications of polish it is quite thick. Mindy is one of the rudest nail techs I have come across in several years. My most recent appointment, I made the appointment about a week out. I spoke with Mindy and she let me know that she was no longer doing nails, so I told her I would be fine with whoever. The day of she proceeded to do my nails. While she was doing my nails she repeatedly told me that she did not have time and that she did not want to do them. She was paying no mind to my nails and was getting up every five minutes to walk away. When I would ask her to fix something or ask for anything basic- such as preferring that my acrylics are thicker, she would be rude and express that she didn't have the time. My nails ended up different lengths, different shapes, bumpy, uneven, and all different thicknesses. This was my third time going there after not having a great time the first two times. Each time I had gone I ended up being cut on multiple fingers and the most recent time, I had three nails snap in half within a week. I expected that maybe the first two times were just not good days. I ended up going to Stellar nails to have my nails fixed and they did a perfect job. read more
