Walking into Minerva, the first staff was quick to greet us and promptly sat us at our table. There was a large Indian population in the restaurant, which was a good sign in my opinion, as it typically reveals that it's authentic and attracts people familiar with the Indian cuisine, which is just what we were after. Once we were seated, we were able to look through their expansive menu. They have a lot of great Indian dishes, many of which I was familiar with, and others I was not familiar with, which was actually kind of nice. I decided on the Andhra chicken, which was a new dish I've never tried. The chicken comes with a spicy curry sauce that isn't too hot, but that has enough heat to keep the dish interesting. Of course, with many Indian dishes, it also came with a large side of rice, and was more than enough to fill me up for a single meal. Overall, the meal was a great, as was most of the experience. The only downside was that our waiter never really actually spoke to us. While he would stop by frequently to refill water and remove plates/silverware, he never said anything. I wasn't entirely sure if it was just his personality or if there was perhaps a language barrier that may have existed, but either way, the experience was all around pleasant with the exception of that. read more

I wish we tried this restaurant 3 years ago when we moved to the area. We had a fantastic time. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall off rt one, so parking is easy. The inside of the restaurant was pretty cute and the staff was very attentive. This restaurant totally met our needs, my husband is Indian, but I can't eat anything with tomatoes or spices - but my husband obviously wants those things. He was SUPER pleased with his chicken 65 dosa. When I asked if the Malai Kofte had tomatoes the waiter was great. He was like "no! Or if it does we can make it without them!" They didn't treat me like I was crazy. When my husband and I can eat together and both be happy at an Indian restaurant it is a good day. We were feeling festive and got the 22oz Flying Horse because we'd never heard of it before. The husband confirmed that, as advertised, it goes well with the spicy food. Greatly appreciated, really good first time experience here for me, and good for her after about a decade since her last time! What an AMAZING Indian restaurant! The restaurant is unassuming from the outside and tucked away in a plaza with free parking. However, the second you walk in, you are greeted with the smell of delicious food and an incredibly friendly staff making the atmosphere welcoming and homey. I loved how the owners would engage in small talk and ask how the food was/which dishes were our favorites. I came here on a Saturday for the weekend lunch buffet for $17.99 per person. There's a large assortment of options to try which was awesome! It's so thoughtful how they separated their vegetarian options from non-vegetarian options. I also liked how they had a section just for chutneys!! I truly enjoyed everything that was offered, but my favorites were: - Tandoori Chicken: incredibly tender and juicy chicken marinated with spices - Gobi Manchurian: super crispy yet packed with flavor - The Nariyal barfi (coconut dessert): not too sweet and so tasty! - Mango Lassi ($3.99): this wasn't a part of the buffet, but it was delicious and refreshing Everything was hot and fresh as the staff consistently ensured nothing was empty. Our plates were always cleared from our table if empty and our glasses were always ensured to be filled with water. If I haven't emphasized it enough, the service was amazing! Minerva's food is amazing, and the buffet price for the quality of food is fantastic, but the attention and care to the customer experience is really what makes them a terrific restaurant. Not only does Minerva have great food but the service is also impeccable! FOOD: We ordered Phool Ghobi Manchurian as recommended, Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka, and Garlic Naan. The Phool Ghobi Manchurian was something new to us but we enjoyed it - we can definitely see why it's popular! The garlic naan was perfect; nicely charred at the bottom. The chicken tikka was tender and delicious and the lamb Vindaloo was perfectly seasoned. DRINKS: We both ordered the mango lassi and one of the better ones we've had! Highly recommend! SERVICE: I believe it was the owner who we talked to but he was so attentive and easy going. He recommended a lot to us and was so passionate about the food. All within 1 point of each other. All offer fresh hot naan! But not Minerva. All have pokoras, but not Minerva, all have deelish salad, but not Minerva, all have a samovar of tea, but not Minerva, all have a yummy creamy chicken dish, not Minerva, all have a tasty soup, not Minerva, all have mild to little spicing, but Minerva's is far too spicy, all have a selection of fresh cut melons, not Minerva, And they're all a few $$'s less! I have been meaning to come here for the buffet, and there are definitely some good features. I eat a plant-based diet now, so this review does not include feedback about meat dishes (although the non-vegetarian options looked pretty decent). But if I am being honest it is somewhere between OK and Good. If marsala tea were included I would have had no choice but to rate them as Good, but nonetheless some things did impress me. There are quite a few entree choices, but I was disappointed to find no varieties of dal. I consider dal to be enough of a staple that the lack of it better be backed up by some great food. And while there were numerous choices (and a decent selection of vegetarian options) I did not find any standouts. The Paneer Tikka Masala was probably the best dish I tasted. Good consistency and fresh. The Mix Vegetables Curry was decent. The Sambhar stew and the Saute Vegetables were OK, as was the Home Style Potato Masala. I enjoyed the deep-fried Punugulu. There was a Lo Mein noodle dish that in my opinion missed the mark. The Dosas were a welcome addition to the buffet, but it was unclear which dishes worked best with that - and when I tried to put a few items inside the Dosa fell apart could not be held. Not at all how I remember Dosas at nearby 1947 - a restaurant superior to this one by almost every measure (although they do not have a buffet). I do give Minerva high marks when it comes to creative deserts. The Sweet Vermicelli is quite a creative effort, combining pasta with coconut and raisins. This was delicious, and the other choices were also on-point. Minerva seems to have a loyal base of regular diners. The staff (who seemed friendly and were attentive) greeted multiple guests by name and everyone seemed to be working hard to deliver a good dining experience. Lastly, I was happy Minerva was not afraid to serve some dishes with heat. Most buffets serve only dishes with mild spiciness, but this was not the strict rule here. read more

This is one of my favorite Indian buffets in the Boston area. The food is awesome, the buffet offers a lot of variety so I've been able to try many things I'd not otherwise order but that I now love! The food is very fresh and I see cooks changing things over as soon as they run low. As others have said, the service is top-notch. I don't think I've ever had an empty water glass or run out of serviettes. The owners and/or managers are very friendly and always stop by to make sure everything is good.
