Paradise is in my husbands regular take out rotation but We ate inside for the first time this week! The restaurant is pretty. I love the Tiled Taj behind the bar and the decorative drapes. Most importantly they were able to and open to making the Malai kofte without tomato! Which means we will be back because it's hard to get Indian food from a restaurant without tomatoes. This location is very nicely decorated and a good space for families and friends to have a nice meal together. The servers are friendly and attentive. They are open late which is helpful for people who work late and need to pickup a quick dinner after work. Here is what we had for dinner (good first, bad last). Chilli Baby Corn: Good (the only good dish we had today). Order spicy only if you can handle it. Mild or medium should be good for most people. Deep fried baby corn sautéed with onions, pepper and some special garlicky red hot sauce. Sprite and coke: Not cold enough, but tolerable. Goat Pepper Fry: I like bone in, so I asked the waiter before ordering and he confirmed that it won't be boneless. But my order had at the most TWO bones while remaining 15-20 were boneless pieces. Anyway, the taste was average. Again, order spicy only if you can handle it. Not happy with this dish. Few boneless pieces were extremely chewy. And here's the worst part Paradise SPECIAL Chicken Biryani: I ordered the special chicken biryani because I wanted to have something special. What I got was a disaster. The fried chicken pieces in the biryani were cold. Imagine cold chicken pieces in your biryani. It's not a biryani anymore. If the chef didn't want to cook fresh, he could have used little common sense and microwaved the chicken for a minute. It would still be stale but at least edible. Bad day, bad choice. Never going back here. The waiter was not comfortable with English. I don't judge people by their English speaking skills, but when you are taking orders, you must know how to speak or at least understand the language. He replied in Hindi couple of times and I thought he would be more comfortable with Hindi. But apparently he was not interested. I asked him the difference between 2 goat appetizers and he said "same"! ‍ A left a decent tip and I am giving 2 stars even after this sad review. This place was slightly better than a 3 star, but I couldn't give it a 4 star. We had the Chicken Gassi and Gongura Lamb Curries. Both came with rice (pictured). Although we asked for medium spicy, the chicken curry was notably more than medium spicy in mine and my wife's opinion. Chicken Gassi is supposed to have a bit of a tamarind flavor. I didn't find that. The lamb dish was more in line with medium spicy. Overall, I didn't find the sauces to be that distinctive in flavor. Portions were about average for what you would find and the rice was included. Not all places do that. I would try this place again and order something different. A regular Indian restaurant with a very standard menu. Apart from the biryani, they have pretty average tasting dishes. The place is okay for a quick dinner when you don't want to spend too much but want decent Indian food. Also I find there food little too spicy so would recommend that if you do not enjoy spicy food try food at medium spicy level. Try to avoid ordering noodles or fried rice as I have always had a very disappointing experience. Overall I have eaten here almost 50 times and have found their biryani is good, but other items could be a hit and miss sometimes. I ordered the Chicken Maas Laal, spicy. Great onion and garlic flavors, and spicy enough to make me sweat a little bit--perfect. We also tried the Paneer Butter Masala, mild. It had an almost sweet flavor, and was a great contrast to the spicier dish. The garlic naan was great, too. I can also recommend the Hyderabadi rice dishes. We order our food online yesterday on the way got a call that they don't have many mild biryani.... I don't understand why they don't make a bigger portion when many ppl can't handle the spice level? We were regular customers of Paradise Biryani Pointe in Cumberland until they close down. The one in Cumberland always surpassed our expectations so we decided to give the one in Norwood a try. I am not sure why such a big difference in the food both in terms of taste and quality. We decided to try Chicken 65, Paradise Chicken Fry, and Chicken Biryani. The Chicken 65 and Paradise Chicken Fry were both overly cooked and dried to a point where I was picking pieces of chicken out of my teeth. The Chicken Biryani has only one piece of Chicken. Besides that the Chicken Biryani was decent. I might give them another try in the future. Hopefully, they can fix whatever is wrong with their kitchen. read more

This place keeps getting better. They've added some bold new items to the menu and they are absolutely delicious (and spicy! The way it should be). If you've not tried egg bhurji, definitely do that. They have perfected this dish which is tough to find in restaurants. If you are a vindaloo fan, you must try this chicken or goat laal Maas. Caution: medium is very spicy and spicy requires big cojones. Also, happens to be on of the lighter dishes on the menu aside from the veggies and kebabs. However, goat Curry is what takes the prize home. Hats off! All of this, I eat with the plain paratha (whole wheat), which is something healthier and more delicious than naan. Our third visit recently. The menu is broad and offers many new items. We are pescatarian, so there is half of the menu we don't look at, but of the non-meat and fish appetizers and entrees there are representative dishes from many of the primary Indian cuisines. We have experimented with the heat. Medium is hot and hot is extraordinary. I like hot, and it still allows for the dish's flavors to come through, but I eat alone. So we do medium at the most. We have had one low-key service experience, but the first and this last one was very attentive. There are more than enough reasons to visit regularly: flavors, choices, and heat range. This place could easily be a 4- or 5-star Paradise if they stepped their game up or lowered their prices, but alas, they languish in 3-star Purgatory, and will probably continue to do so until they heed the divine callings on this Yelp page. They had a small banquet hall which we decided to use for a small event and after multiple discussions and assurances when they day came to prepare they were rude, they wouldn't move the furniture, they said insulting things about woman (as there were girls putting up decorations) and said we don't want to be communicating with them and will talk only to a guy. The owner seems to have taken the feedback about the customer service. I could see they have added more wait staff. The staff was very attentive, checking in with customers all the time. This time we had paradise special chicken biryani and goat sukha. Both were excellent in fact paradise special chicken biryani is a must try. I noticed they opened up the party hall too. Its a section adjacent to the restaurant not interfering with restaurant crowd which is a good sign. Its definitely good for parties. I know from a friend that they held a meet and greet at the party hall when Jayaprakash Narayan was in Boston. I wish they open up the bar area soon.
