This pet grooming service was recommended to my by several people! I was told they did a thorough grooming job and the price was reasonable. Both things were true. I took my micro-labradoodle here for her first professional grooming session. She was really nervous when we walked in but once the lady took her and gave her some pets and love she calmed down a bit. Dogs can sense good humans so it gave me some peace-of-mind. The staff is very professional. I told them I wanted the "teddy-bear cut" because I didn't want to snout to be too thin. I think they did a pretty good job understanding. When I picked up my dog I noticed they prefer cash and I think it is $10 cheaper if you pay this way. It was $80. Talk about a great price! She even got her nails clipped. Clean and fluffy my dog looked amazing. I have been back here several times and I am always satisfied with my experience. Minerva is a dissapointment. They are chaotic, rude and very careless. Just because two dogs look alike doesn't mean there shouldn't be a way to make sure the right dog brought in is the dog brought home. Not every owner is the puck up person. Not only they give the wrong dog away but no apology is offered,no accountability is taken only to be told by a pompous man that it happens all the time" a smirking man that only thinks about the money he makes not about if the pet needed medication, or having to go out of your way to meet up the other person that has your dog. It's not about refunded it's about showing responsibility to make sure everything goes smoothly with pick up and drop off. I dare question how could something like that be better handle now and in the future 9nly to be told they would call the police on me. I hesitate t think when we drop off our pets the condition we leave them in these back rooms. I have every right to question how could someone give away the wrong dog without making sure the person is entitled to pick that dog up. This man was arrogant enough to tell merit happens all the time" I would rather spend a few dollars more or learn how to groom a pet myself then to ever let this people near my dog. I hope they're business is investigated and made sure that everything is above board for myself i will never recommend that pace to a real animal lover. read more

This place is amazing. We saw a beautiful Malti-poo at the mall with their owner and asked where they groomed their dog. They said to come here. We had such a horrible experience at Petco and was worried how he would be treated. They were so gentle and did such a great job. Completely different experience. When I picked up Teddy he was so happy and well taken care of. Not scared at all. They were so kind and gentle. Great customer service too! We will definitely be coming back. read more

Very unprofessional and upsetting experience. I brought my cat here to be groomed. She has another regular groomer I take her to but since they were booked up, I very hesitantly went out on a limb bringing her somewhere else. Definitely learned my lesson the hard way. I am not picky about the shave/cut itself. My cat has a long healthy coat, so as long as she is shaved down to be comfortable and is safe/happy, I am happy. They informed me they don't do a super short shave because they can't for cat fur which was fine with me- though her normal groomer shaves her down shorter and completely smooth/clean, so it is possible. Nonetheless, when I got her home and saw the choppy shave, I wasn't bothered especially given the decent pricing. But you get what you pay for... The next day I was alarmed to find large bald patches on the nape of her neck that were red with scabs and irritation. Definitely razor burn. I was extremely upset that I was not at the very least made aware of this when I picked her up. Instead, upon picking her up I was brought out the wrong animal twice before they were able to locate my cat. They then proceeded to ask me how much I owed them at checkout? Other employees weren't very nice. Extremely disorganized and chaotic. Just to top it off, my cat has been shedding a lot considering she was shaved and supposedly given a bath and deshed. Her ears do not look like they got cleaned even though that was supposed to be included. And she has been itching since- likely from cheap product. Again, none of this is the norm with her regular groomer. I did speak to the owner about this. She was nice enough and at least offered an apology for my experience, which is more than I was expecting. But that was about it. She tried to explain "their side of things" which was that short shaves for cats are going to be choppy due to their silky fur. I explained why this was untrue and wasn't what I had voiced as a concern to her regardless. That my cat has never had issues like this with grooming prior to this experience. Razor burn is easily avoidable and definitely not normal if they knew what they were doing. I told her I wouldn't be returning and she needs to be aware they're putting animals at risk. Since I wasn't returning, she didn't have any other solution for me even though she asked if they could do anything. I said "well, yes. how do you handle situations like this?" She had nothing. No refund offered even though I paid in full and tipped for a service I would have literally paid NOT to have done. Plus the extra money I spent on medication for her wounds that she wouldn't have needed otherwise. Not surprised at all I wasn't offered a refund and it wouldn't have changed the outcome but it would have at least shown some genuine concern and accountability on their end. Again, SUPER unprofessional all around. Clearly not knowledgeable. If you're trying to decide, just don't. read more

Not only was his fur shorter than I told them I wanted but it's uneven his nails are long even his ears don't match one is longer than the other he's a sad sight to look at very disappointed. Ive been taking my dogs here for a few years now. The last few times they have came home with hot spots and today on of my dogs came home with a bloody nose. They said my dog was being aggressive which is odd since he's been going there since he was a few months old. I don't think the bloody nose happened on its own and they don't have answers. They said they do not have cameras when I asked to view the video because I think they hit my dog. I would never take any of my dogs there again or would I recommend them. I would give them no stars. Since my parents live near the clinic, they've been regular customers there and every time they sent their dog there, it would always be handed back injured and anxious to death. Either the people there cut the dog's nail too short and it would be in pain for days (and bleed!). Or they would appear with a cut, maybe two, or a bloodied nose. Because they're old, my parents didn't really do anything about this, but since I've moved back in, I can see the dogs are suffering after visiting this clinic. The 30-minute drive to another clinic is worth it. Please don't go to this one. read more

I've brought two cats here thus far and what a horrible experience. First, the groomers do not know how to handle nervous animals. I specifically asked the owner the first time around if he could handle nervous animals and he said, no problem. FYI- These animals were groomed elsewhere by 30 yr experienced groomers who knew how to handle pets. Today, my 2nd cat, I'm told was nervous, escaped from the groomers, got upset and entangled himself in wires and somehow two teeth fell out of his mouth? The groomer gave us a half ass excuse, but returned my cat with two missing teeth and a bloody mouth. The previous incident I'm told my other cat was difficult. Also, that cut was lousy and amateur hour. This place should not advertise that they groom cats if they cannot manage them. I cannot recommend this place also because they never answer the phone. I usually take my dog to another place in town but it usually requires an appointment. I happened to have just picked my dog up from the sitters and saw this place was near me. I called and they were able to fit my dog in for a wash and haircut only a couple hours later in the day. I just picked him up and he smells lovely! He's never smelled this good after being groomed! After trying a few grooming places we needed a new place. We noticed the good reviews Minerva's had received in the past. So, we were willing to take our over 100 pound Chow Mix sweet Bear to them. Minerva's staff did not listen and actually did what expressly asked not to. They cut my double coated dogs' coats to 1 inch after told not to cut their coats any shorter. Well-trained groomers should know that you never cut a double coat. Cutting a double coated dog's coat 1) does not prevent shedding, 2) takes away their insulation from wet, cold, heat, and sun, and 3) affects coat regrowth for up to 2 years. In older dogs, it can actually ruin the coat forever. I believe they have harmed my dogs' coats and their ability to cool and heat themselves in their golden years. I had brought my dog Bob here for the first time ....Bob is a Samoyed mix breed that I had rescued. I was looking for a groomer that would take time to brush him out without shaving him.
