After several weeks with no update, I checked in and it was fixed. I brought it home and 3 days later it crashed for no reason. I was upset since I just paid $100 to have it fixed. So I brought it back in and several weeks go by with no update. I finally got fed up of waiting and I went and got my laptop back. I contacted the company that I originally bought my laptop from to see if they could repair my laptop. I am told that I am missing a hard drive, the power jack was never fixed and they used packing tape to make repairs. They also telll me that replacing the power jack is a 15 minute job and the part is around $10 not even close to a $100 repair. Cfix Computers had ripped me off and taken my hard drive! I called them many times and the owner would not return any of my calls. I also filed with the Better Business Bureau and Cfix Computers ignored them to. I will never bring my electronics to Cfix Computers EVER again!

Today, excuses about the files being in Word and PowerPoint format not being identical and was taken to a screen for a video chat. I only ever go to Staples because (a) I need something specific, and (b) no one else in Hub Town sells it at their price that I know of. I've bought a netbook, PC tablet, printwork, projector screen, and sundry stationery items from this joint. None by choice. With every visit I've needed to engage their staff for help, and never EVER have any (but one) of them been able to assist. Their responses have ranged from "I don't know" to "can you come back later" and even "heavens, we don't keep that in stock." Sale items I've gone for have never been there. The one ray of sunshine is a fantastic fellow who has helped me with electronics. Having retired from a professional career, he took on a job with Staples for kicks and giggles. He is smart, articulate, and truly interested in helping a customer. I am a service manager myself, so I tend to actually be quite forgiving when it comes to service. Goodness knows it's not always an easy role to be in. However, it's just unacceptable when a store has "that was easy" as their tag line when the local staff make it quite the opposite. From now on, I check first with the independent stationers, and if they don't have it I pick it up in Halifax. Avoid Staples!

The less you need to rely on the sparse sales team (and I do mean SALES team), the more you will come out a winner. 2) Stick to the plan. Don't get upsold, don't get off-sold (a new term I made up for getting sold to something other than what you planned on), and frankly, don't get lost in there. The more time you spend outside of your original focus, the more likely you are to come home with something you didn't want or need. 3) Have friends with a truck waiting and ready. Home delivery is always such a gong show that you're much better off getting it done yourself. And by yourself, I clearly mean by your friends with big muscles and ample vehicular storage. 4) Ignore your impulses. Sure, you just bought a fancy new tab and there are all kinds of gadgets and add-ons and fanciness that's catching your eye on the way to the cash. ABORT. DISENGAGE. RETURN TO THE HOMELAND. Odds are, you are going to misread the package and realize only hours later that while the 'whatever cord' is for the make and model you bought, it only works with the previous generation.

Stubborn I wanted to make these speakers work so I went to Video World where I should have bought them, to see what they could do. The staff was very helpful especially considering I was trying to install speakers that I didn't even buy from them. One of the staff members showed me an adapter ring while another phoned to see if their supplier carried other options. They even had their technician give me some advice on how I should mount my speakers with the adapter. The chery on top was the fact that they even gave me a deal on some dynamat along with my adapters. I will be shopping for all my tv and audio gear at Video World from now on. I would highly recommend this business over any chain store, if you want to feel comfortable and walk out happy, This is the place to shop.
