Cao Lau noodles with pork belly (Cao Lau nudlar med sidfläsk)
    Amanda F.

Like I've said before, I'm a bit of a Vietnamese cuisine snob, so I am never that easily impressed. After much persuasion from various people, I finally tried this Vietnamese-fusion restaurant, and was so glad that I did. The dishes were nicely portioned and was less than boring. Every dish was beautifully plated and the flavours all made sense - even if it was "fusion". They had great selections for vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores. The customer service was excellent and the servers were knowledgeable. I appreciated that the server explained all the compositions of the dish as it hit our table. We had the Sticky rice with five types of mushrooms and the Cao Lau noodles with pork belly. I recommend booking a table in advance as the restaurant is fairly small and gets quite busy.

Great place for some healthy (hope so) and delicious Vietnamese dishes. Tried no. 20 - apparently the main dish of Vietnam, great choice after adding some Srirancha sauce and various green leaves. Ordered two starters which I cannot remember the names of but also very tasty and interesting spices (neither too strong or bleak - well balanced!) Had a delicious green cheesecake-look-alike-but-dont-taste-alike (which I can't remember the name of either -but took a picture to document it properly). If you like food and Vietnamese cuisine then stop reading and order ;-)

Highly highly recommend the Gá chay xào mien, a plate chock full of strong flavours. I usually shy away from small glass noodles; but this dish came with fragrant herbs, unusual mushrooms, a dark spicy dipping sauce and huge depth for a veggie dish. The non-veggie bf really enjoyed his pho, but found my dish impossible not to steal from... I'll be returning, and with enough time before close for a pudding!

"Szechuan Pepper Wit" beer from Stockholm's Modernist Brewery. Not much in the way of numbing spiciness - tasted a bit like a cider.

They have very few daily Menu items and I chose "melt in your mouth" pork belly with sticky rice.

And…read morenormally I would never eat any Asian food in Europe, but Stockholm is cold in October and the wife was feeling sick...so a hot bowl of "Pho" was in order. 145SEK was bit of a shocker for a bowl of Pho, as I'm used to paying only 70-80SEK in California. However this is Sweden, prices already include tax, and you typically don't leave a tip for counter service restaurants in this country...so the price wasn't too absurd. The Pho is different, but still definitely Pho and the portion was about the same. Except for the wife's Chicken Pho...that bowl came with A LOT of chicken. It was least 50% more protein than my beef Pho...nice! 75SEK for the deep fried spring rolls...this was weird for me. From a Californian's perspective they're not quite an eggroll nor a spring roll...they're Swedish rolls? They were tasty enough, but the order only came with 3 small rolls...not worth 75SEK, sorry! Side Note: Hearing local Asian-Swedes speak perfect Swedish and English is so fascinating to me. Cold day in Stockholm? Not feeling well? Eatnam's Pho is worth a try.

So, it's like 30 degrees in Sweden and when it's cold outside, what better way than to warm yourself up with some delicious pho soup. We looked up the closest pho spot and saw that this place was nearby and had ok reviews. We glanced at the menu and was shocked by the prices lol. USD$20+ for a bowl of pho? What is this madness? When we got our bowls of bun bo hue they had very little meat in them and it didn't even taste like bun bo hue and they also had very little noodles compared to all the places in 626. The soup wasn't even that good either.. Oh yeah and we ordered the egg rolls which were maybe like USD$10ish and they brought out 2 egg rolls. I was like wait, where are the rest of them? Sadface.

The menu is posted on the back wall in the back of the restaurant, which is also where you order before sitting down. I chose the chicken pho, as it included both white and dark meat, which you don't see at most places, and my friend ordered the tofu pho. We both emptied our bowls and left quite satisfied. The portion size is OK. I wish there had been a small and large option. Service was fine.

I will go back because I don't know anywhere else to find these foods, but it's certainly not the best dim sum on Earth, and the service was on par with most dim sum restaurants I've been to, which is to say adequate but not great. Dim sum and congee are weekend only and the elderly Chinese crowd confirms that you've come to the best place in town. The steamed shrimp dumplings and fried dough with pork were quite tasty. The steamed pork dumplings and pork ribs were ok, the char sui bao was a bit denser in dough than it should have been, and the steamed rice in lotus leaf was bland, as was the radish cake. They were completely lacking in sauces that I'm used to at dim sum - no Chinese mustard or dipping sauces aside from chili and soy sauce. No fried sesame balls filled with bean paste, much to my disappointment, but that you can get frozen or freshly made at the Oriental Supermarket in Hötorget T-bana station if you are desperate for it like I sometimes am. On weekdays, Lucky Garden offers a great lunch value and a quiet, calm, spacious place good for lunch meetings, though the food is pretty bland and simple. Good for someone looking for healthy, simple vegetables with protein.
