Safia provides a well rounded program with academics, play, sports, music, and art. She is accommodating to the physical, academic, and emotional needs of each child. My youngest child is deaf with cochlear implants. Safia has been such a blessing with his care, she's learned sign language and has accommodated his other needs. I believe he is so well adjusted and thriving because of her. My oldest recently started TK, after 3 years with Safia, and I believe she was well prepared for her school. It's hard to imagine our life without Safia, she is truly one of the best educators/humans we have ever met. We cannot thank her enough for the exceptional care our children have received.

It's always nerve wracking leaving the most important (helpless) person in your life in the care of others, and we have never doubted ours was in good hands. From the start when our baby would not take bottles, all the way to potty-training, and everything in between, Safia patiently worked with baby and me to calm my anxious-mama nerves and get us on track. Our child is happy, safe, learning, socializing and loved here. The days are structured with lesson plans, sports, art, cooking, math, spelling, etc. They are fed healthy, adventurous meals. By 18 months old, our little one was counting to 20, singing ABCs verbatim (and many other songs), knew colors & shapes and continues to be a great listener and thinker (as far as toddlers go, lol). All the little friends seem happy to go to "school" each morning and parents get updates and chances to talk every day. We had our other child in a big preschool/childcare center where they got lots of play-based learning in large groups, however it was at the expense of teacher/staff stability and regulator in-depth communication, which is so important that this young age. Furthermore, with ever-present COVID and other childhood illnesses, a smaller circle seems like a good way buffer the field. All in all, we highly recommend Safia's to all our friends.

My 2.5 year old loves going to school and runs from me when I come to pick her up. She wants to stay and that is vastly different from her last school. We have been there for over a year now and I couldn't be happier. This is an incredible school with great values and a perfect balance of learning and play.

My son has been coming to Crossroads for a while now. My husband and I based our choice on not only…read morethe previous Yelp reviews, but also the recommendations of numerous (20+) mothers in a mothers group I am on in Simi Valley. We are very happy with our decision, and would wholeheartedly recommend Crossroads to other families who are looking for Childcare. It was our first time putting our son in non-family childcare and so understandably we were a bit nervous, however watching him grow and come home and talking about his friends is simply amazing. Crossroads is located at the church (Methodist), and they do teach age-appropriate bible learning. My family is non-denominational, however I think it is important to expose children to different things/teaching. My son will come home and explain to me the stories that he has heard (IE Jonah and the Whale) and also the teachings that he has heard (Sharing, Being Kind..all things that EVERYONE should know and SUPPORT!). Ms. Gordon (the program Director) explained that they would be sharing the teachings, but also that the program is open to everyone regardless of belief. I honestly find it very cute to hear a 4-year olds recollection of a Bible Tale. The staff is all awesome. Ms. Gordon, Ms. Theresa, Ms. Elizabeth. Mr. Ron (the cook) is literally all my son talks about. He gets snack and lunch provided by the school and it is often things like quesadillas, sliders, fruit, vegetables, milk, cereal, granola bars. It has definitely increased the types of food my son is willing to try. Communication from the school is awesome and they take safety as a top priority. I've had a few times where my son has fallen and scraped a knee and I have always gotten an accident/incident report and he always tells me that "teacher" takes care of it and put on a bandaid or a cool pack. Every once and a while the school will have events for parents (hindered by COVID obviously) but we have had Muffins in the Morning and got to go and join our student to make crafts, I really do love these events. The school takes a lot of COVID precautions (sanitizing, hand washing, and all adults wear masks) and I appreciate that the children do not have to wear masks (I personally feel its unrealistic to expect small children to wear masks all day in the California heat). There have only been 2 COVID incidents (one student as close contact to a family member, one confirmed case) since the pandemic began, and I think that speaks volumes for how much the staff cares and takes care of the school. Also, when there was a shutdown due to a case the school was very open and realistic in reaching out to parents and coming to an agreement (individually with each affected family) regarding tuition re-imbursement/payment for that month. Also the price is very, very, very, good for the quality of care and the learning and fun that my son gets to have there. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about Crossroads and their staff. I really do recommend them for childcare.

My son has made wonderful friendships with children who have grown right alongside him, and it has been amazing to watch. The teachers put so much heart, dedication, and genuine care into what they do every day, and it shows. A special thank you to Miss Jonnay! She has been an incredible teacher to my son, and I am so grateful for the care and attention she gives him. She keeps me updated, celebrates his successes, and truly understands him. Over the last couple of months, I've seen such a big change in him, he's grown in confidence, understanding, and independence. It means so much to have someone who spends her days with him, notices these milestones, and genuinely cares about his development. The support she provides feels like having a second mother in his corner. Miss Tressa has created such a special place for children to learn, explore, and experience their first years of education. This school is truly a hidden gem, and I feel incredibly lucky to have found it and to be part of this community. If you're considering this school, I encourage you to visit and meet the staff. You'll quickly see how passionate, caring, and dedicated they are. We couldn't be more grateful for the love and support our family has received here.

The experience started off great. Sure, it wasn't perfect. What daycare is? But the experience…read moredeteriorated so much so quickly. The issues started getting bigger and bigger and the owner, Tressa, took zero accountability. Instead, she will completely gaslight you and say you're the problem. One of our first big issues was when my daughter was in the infant center and came home with bleach stained pants. The teacher admitted that they sprayed down her high chair with bleach, forgot to wipe it, and placed my daughter in BLEACH!! The second big issue was when they completely forgot to feed my daughter her formula all day. I picked up my youngest and she was screaming bloody murder in the car from hunger. When I looked at her daily log on brightwheel, I noticed there wasnt anything logged for feeding. I asked them thinking they just forgot to log the bottle feeds. Nope!!! They straight up did not give my daughter a bottle all day. The next big safety issue was when the parents started to realize the chickens kept getting eaten by coyotes jumping into the yard. And then we finally saw the coyote right up the fence of the school yard and took a photo. The owner Tressa decided the best solution was to put some cayenne pepper around the perimeter. SMH! It took months of pestering her to increase the fence height - and she only increased it on one small section of the fence. The rest of the yard is still low. Profits over the wellbeing of the children is her only concern.. Moving on to the mold issue. My daughter was in the 3 year old class which is one of the tiniesttttt classrooms I've ever seen. When the classroom teachers rotated, the new teacher decided to clean up her classroom (side note about cleanliness discussed below). She found the kids play couch to be filled with mold on the bottom and left it outside. The owner tressa pretended to act dumb and said it might have been black paint. Tressa, I am sure you are reading this. We all know what mold looks like. How did black paint only end up on the bottom of that couch? Stop treating the parents like they're complete idiots... Cleanliness side note: My kids would come home so filthy (no it wasnt just filth from the dirt yard. It was dried boogers all over their face, crusted food on their faces, dirty hands) that I had to throw them in the bath every single day after school. My kids were alwayssss sick at this school because of the lack of cleanliness. Finally, the last actual straw.... They left my child in her diaper ALL DAY LONG. She came home in the saggiest fullest diaper I have ever seen. She only wears coterie diapers at home and I would give the school costco diapers because they often would give out diapers to other kids and I didnt want the expensive coterie diapers to go to waste. She went to school in a coterie diaper and came back in a coterie diaper!!! I immediately texted Tressa and of course the first thing out of her mouth was a lie. She said other kids in the class have coterie diapers and they changed my daughter and must have grabbed a coterie diaper from another kid. Caught her red handed!!! Coterie stamps a unique code on every single diaper that matches the code within the rest of that particular pack of diapers for quality control. The code in the diaper my daughter came home with matched the open pack of diapers at home. When I sent Tressa the photos, she apologized and the excuses poured in. Stay far away from the teacher named Lisa. She is funny and sweet but she is incredibly lazy. She hates washing the kids hands, taking them to potty, helping them wipe etc. she is also very filthy and keeps her class in filth. Every single parent I know who has left, has left because of Lisa. I spent the past year feeling incredibly guilty that I allowed my children to stay in this environment for so long. Tressa made us feel like we are the problem. She is a master manipulator. The truth is, she tries to wear ALL the hats to save costs. She is a teacher, director, owner, substitute.. and the list goes on. How can anyone do a good job with so many various roles? I've spoken to so many of the parents who left this place and even TEACHERS who have left this place and all are aligned on the following: how the heck is this place not shut down yet?! Do yourselves and your kids a favor and stay far away from this place. P.S. yes I finallly reported them to the state agency when Tressa decided to keep my daughter in the same diaper all day and straight up lied to me. I am assuming nothing changed because I read the other bad review on here. To the woman who left that review, thank you. You finally gave me the courage to leave an honest review for this place. It was long overdue but well deserved.
