I'm not sure how long my review will be up on this page. I agree with Doug E, it looks like they replace bad reviews with all 4s and 5s. That alone is a red flag. Here's my review while it lasts: Do not store your personal belongings with this corporation or any of its affiliates. Brian Dahn is an investor who lives in California. He does not care to build relationships within the local communities where he builds his storage units or buys existing units. His customers feed his cash machine. I have had my storage unit for 10+ years. In September I notified Debbie, the local manager, I would be vacating my unit. I spoke with 3 different office staff in September, well before my monthly billing due date, to ask if they would forgive my late fee for October and allow me to pay my final bill (after 10+ years of paying on time every month) mid-month. I received a, "Yeah, I think that will be okay," from Shelley, to no return calls from the manager, Debbie, confirming this (after I had left several messages). Instead, she got hostile with me about the matter. I called her supervisor, Michelle, who was also quite hostile, and said, that even though the lack of communication on their part caused me the late fee, they would not waive it. It's such a shame that investors like this come into local communities only to feed their cash machines. I can only recommend to those reading this, do not do business with the Dahn Corporation or any of its affiliates. The constant significant rate increases and then the bully mentality when you are forced to vacate your storage unit because of the increases, are not worth it to your finances or your mental health. Debbie, the manager, might be smiling as you are moving in. But don't let it fool you. She is abusive and dishonest and should not be managing this business. Like Zach, I filed with the BBB. Update on July 3 - my experience is improving. Debbie has been working with me to try and improve my experience. I move out on Monday, July 9, and will provide an update. I appreciate the responsiveness and acknowledgement of my concerns about access and potential damage. *** Last week I needed access to my storage unit shortly after 6 p.m. to drop off some items after driving for 20 miles to do just that. When I arrived at 6:10 p.m. there was no access to the facility due to repaving of the parking area in the front of their building. I called and left a message requesting that someone call me back but no one ever did. Today when I mentioned the scenario to the front office the pair discounted my unhappiness with not having access to a facility I pay for during access hours. Instead, they said "they didn't know the contractor was going to be there that night either." No acknowledge of the inconvenience for the customer, just an excuse as to why they did not communicate that night. Mini U Storage, there is still time and always time for proper communication. Especially since there is still work happening until the end of the month. When I went to the storage unit and pulled up the door I was met with a thick cloud of heavy dirt. Not a little dust, a cloud of red dirt, like the Colorado red clay. I looked up and saw that my two brand new ivory dining chairs were half covered with this thick red clay type of dirt. I do believe the chairs are ruined. I am concerned about my couch underneath. What bothers me about this is, the day I signed up for a unit, once all the paperwork was done, the lady said - grab a couch cover back there - there may be a little dust from the construction. Which I did. However, there two small think plastic couch covers did not cover my entire modular couch. Now I am concerned there will be red stain dirt stripes of dirt that will not come out of the fabric. This is simply unacceptable. Either way, I will need to spend a significant amount of time and resources washing and cleaning Above all, I would have expected clear and honest communication up front saying that there is a lot of construction and this unit might be quite dirty. Then if I were not with it I could have chosen another more expensive unit to gone somewhere else. My furniture is not inexpensive and I am very concerned I will find it ruined when I move out in 10 days. read more

I've used self storage in several cities in several states, and my experience with the folks here has been absolutely professional. Rates were the best in the area, my first month was almost free (small admin fee), they have a free truck for move in, and my unit was clean and ready when promised. Extra points for giving me a jump when my car was dead, too. I thought I had all those interior lights turned off when I was unloading...thank you!!! read more

They get you thinking it's cheaper and then jack up the prices well above every other company in the area. Of course, call in and the woman laughs at you and threatens to put new locks on your unit. Horrendous service, absurd scam artists. Run, run far away from these pieces of trash. My $55 storage unit is $86 now and at this rate, will be well over $100 by summer's end.
