I tried to use a credit card initially but they said they couldn't because it is a large amount. (Don't forget this part) I believe they're used to chargebacks or something. What a joke! It is also the company's policy to hold your belongings until you pay. And I totally understand that. I received a receipt from the delivery guy and they (2 young men) unloaded my belongings. So... Why would the company unload the truck if I didn't pay? I paid. Then... WAIT FOR IT... they lost the check! How convenient. The guy said the check was stolen from the check. Now, they're claiming I refused to pay. Accounting 101: write down the check number and the issuing bank. They charged my debit card for the exact same amount as the cashier's check without my authorization. Here's the sad part: I never gave them my debit card information. They must've gotten it from the broker. That's fraudulent. Next time, don't lose your checks! I will continue to post this until you show me proof that I authorized this transaction!

    They did right by me, and I'm happy. I moved out on the last day of the month. I updated my…read moremove-out in the Android app the day I moved out, before I left the parking lot outside the gate. The next day, the first day of the month, I left a voicemail asking them to please refund because I didn't see the update in the app, and I was being charged another month. Then I went back to the rental storage site and did a video call with the customer service rep from their kiosk inside the small, unmanned office. They were able to answer after being on hold for a short 5 minutes, and confirmed with me that everything was refunded by the manager and my balance was zero, and they had just sent an email to confirm it. I'm happy that they took care of me. You just have to be out on the last day of the month, remove your lock, and your storage unit needs to be empty and clean for them to rent out again.

However, I moved out on April 25th, 2026. Nobody works at the Farmington Hills location so they didn't notice I moved out even thought I called the following business day and spoke to a woman at the Dearborn office who said she would send somebody by to verify I had moved out. Fast Forward to May (over a week later from my move out). I was charged $182 for May. I called and spoke to Rob (who by the way told me to eat ramen until I got my money back). He "moved me out" in the system, but I had already been charged for May. I requested a refund and was told I would get one. It's been 2 days, I received a move out receipt with a balance of $0 instead of the -$182 they owe me. I spent over 30 mins trying to get someone on the phone because the automated prompts didn't apply to me. I tried chatting via text, but it's a robot, and I got a person online to chat with me but they told me they couldn't help me and that it was in the "Terms and Conditions". WHAT was in the T&Cs? That you guys would charge me AFTER I moved out? I will never use Public Storage again. The company is not customer friendly and should have a better process to document my move out if they aren't going to have someone on property daily. Please go somewhere else, ANYWHERE else. Even if you pay more at least they may not rob you like Public Storage does.

    I rented a car from the Birmingham, Michigan Budget on the Sunday before Labor Day. The man who…read morechecked me in couldn't have been nicer. He was alone on and it was busy, but nonetheless was cheerful and helpful. However he gave me a car with no wiper fluid and on a 600+ mile drive, the windshield looked like a murder scene (insects splattered all over), and I needed that fluid! That's got to be car rental 101: fill all fluids. Then the $12.99 EZpass option I paid for didn't work on the Ohio Turnpike. And the car had a USB charger only. I have a new iPhone so I had to run last minute to the Apple Store to buy an adaptor. Why have outmoded cars? This one had over 40k miles on it. When I returned the car there was another man (no, he was a too cool for school dude) working at the counter with zero interest in giving me any concessions on price for the substandard experience. I delineated all the issues and he said, "You've got to call customer service." I said, "when I rent at Enterprise and something is wrong, they offer a price alteration" to which he said, "then go to Enterprise." WOW! Great customer service. I was determined to report him and asked his name, which was supposedly Tyler (which I still don't believe) because at first he refused to give me his name, instead saying: "it's whatever you want it to be." I now am dealing with corporate and am unsure how I will fare, but there I had bad luck too. My customer service rep wouldn't give me a measly day's rental refund for around $125 (on a $990 rental). I thought a free day was a reasonable request, but she started yelling over me, refusing to connect me with a supervisor. It was so awful that I actually had to hang up on this raging woman in some foreign country and start over. The takeaway: Budget is an utter nightmare. THIS Budget is poorly run, understaffed, the cars are very old and not well-maintained or cleaned. The staff is uneven from sweet to surly. DO NOT GO THERE, or do so at your own risk. And if you see Tyler, run away!!!
