This review is for Tanya's great handiwork. I walked in Saturday morning at 915 with no appt and the receptionist set me up with the first available at 10am. The receptionist was pleasant and explained the different options when I asked her since it was my first time. Tanya (my nail tech) came in at 956 and was ready for me at 1000. She was meticulous with my nails and cuticles without nicking them. I really appreciated her checking with me every so often if I was happy with length and shape of my nails, and she had calm steady work ethic. I had read about them being cruelty free and decided to check them out, which turned out to be great experience. The salon is clean, and insta friendly. Check it out with your friends. 6/10/19 My nails chipped the next day and they happily fixed it as per their 3 day no chip policy. read more

Came in this afternoon for the first time and had a great visit. My daughter had the kids manicure and she had so much fun picking out a polish color, and experiencing the manicure itself. I have been to this salon several times, I always book the 75 minute pedicure with gel removal. Today, my appointment was at 430pm. She was finished by 520pm??? No massage, no pampering, no masks, no hot stones.....Looking back now, I probably shouldn't have visited here more than once or twice. Each time, the final product was good. Nicely shaped and polished nails. Just a VERY basic nail salon...... There are too many other nail salons that offer more-for much less. I suggest finding somewhere else....... read more

The polish on my nails and toes looked horrible near the cuticle, and I dis not see it before I left the salon and headed to vacation. I also reached out to Minilix and sent pictures with no response. The service was not worth $120 to be ignored when there was an issue at the backend. The first time I went here, I had a nice dip removal and application experience. Since I was a new customer, I received an email with a $20 off coupon, which I was excited to use for my next appointment. 3 weeks later, I was ready to make another appointment to freshen up my nails. I booked the same appointment as I did with my first visit on a Thursday morning for the next day in the afternoon, and added my $20 off coupon. While booking, nothing told me that my appointment would have any issues. However, I received a text on Friday around noon notifying me that the dip specialist wouldn't be there at the time I booked my appointment, and that she wouldn't be in the salon until the following Tuesday. I thought it was bizarre this information wasn't on the booking website, but since one of my nails had fallen off, I decided to follow their suggestion and just get gel polish despite it being a bit more expensive than my usual dip. Once I texted them about keeping my booking time and switching to gel, they then asked me to come in 15 minutes early for the dip application (which was stressful because it was about 45 minutes before my appointment and I was still 30 minutes away). Once I finally got to my appointment, the lady removed my dip as normal and went to shaping my nails. I was pretty disappointed because I had told her to do a slight coffin shape and trim my nails, but she ended up doing a wacky job with the coffin and cut my nails too short. Nonetheless, I decided to let my frustration go and decide to try to like my nails anyways. I was also surprised that the gel wasn't hard and that instead was like a regular permanent polish, which added to my confusion as to why it's more expensive than the dip. This wasn't much of an issue, though, and I told myself that next time I'd just go back to dip. After my nails were done, I went to the counter to pay. The lady asked if I wanted to tip, and I left $5 even though I was NOT satisfied with my nails. She then asked if I wanted to use the card on file, to which I responded yes, and she confirmed I was all good to go. I thought it was weird she didn't tell me the total since I had seen her discussing that with a previous customer, but I shrugged it off and walked out. About 30 minutes later, I was shopping in the area and checked my bank account to confirm my nail service went through. When I saw how much they charged me, my jaw dropped! Despite the service being $55, with a $10 dip removal fee and a $5 tip, I was charged an extra $10, totaling up to $80! Now, an extra $10 wouldn't have bothered me as much (even though it came from the dip removal fee and I thought it was ridiculous to be charged $20 for a simple removal), but they had also failed to apply my $20 coupon. I realized that this was because they had entirely changed my booking after I said I'd just take the gel application, and they hadn't even told me about it. I'm disappointed to say this wasn't even the worst part. I called them as soon as I realized, and they didn't pick up because they had just closed. So, I decided to leave a text and hoped they'd call me the next morning. By Saturday, I hadn't received any message, so I decided to call a little after noon. They picked up and I explained what happened and how I'd been charged an extra $30 for my service. After explaining, there was silence on the other line. I waited about 30 seconds and finally said "hello?", to which they immediately hung up. I wondered if it was because there was bad reception, so I waited about 5 minutes and called again. The didn't pick up this call at all, so I left a voicemail, expecting to hear from them soon. I waited all Saturday without receiving any message, and decided I'd go in person the next day to ask. I wake up on Sunday from a text saying they would refund me $20 since they failed to reapply my $20 coupon, but didn't address the overcharging and the horrible communication on their part AT ALL. To top it all off, the refund is still pending. I'm beyond disappointed and am sad to say I will not be returning, despite the location being close to my house and the dip service being a very reasonable price. I hope my story will help someone know about the poor service and avoid the mess I went through. read more

This location has changed dramatically for the worse lately. The good: Cathy is my manicurist and is fantastic. Careful beautiful work. The bad: the place is a dump. I counted 7 ceiling lights out and the bathroom is so dark I had to use by cellphone flashlight to see. the door to the bathroom is filthy. The entire place needs a scrubbing. I had an appt for Monday at 9am. Made it last week and they confirmed it. Today I got a text reminding me that it was at 10 am. No call; no explanation. Turns out that they changed their hours but didn't have the decency to let me know. Luckily I saw the text and cancelled because I couldn't make it. As long as Cathy is there I will keep going but they really need to get their act together. read more

I was lured by builder gel, after deciding to give up on my dip manicure addiction at a different and less clean salon. Soaking my hands in acetone and boiling hot water every 3 weeks was wreaking havoc on my skin. The MiniLuxe experience was fine, but I think the prep wasn't perfect, which is crucial to the manicure being able to adhere to the nails. The tech said she was worried to hurt me because my nails/skin were damaged and sprayed my hands and asked me to rinse them with warm water before she got started painting. After a few hours, my left index nail popped off after I closed a container at home, and then about a day and a half later, when I was driving home from work, I noticed I was missing the right index nail, which had popped off. Super disappointed. These are supposed to last 4 weeks and cost $90 plus 20% tip -- and I have to redo my nails at home without an exact matching color. Less than ideal. I was so excited to try MiniLuxe and the DazzleDry system after hearing rave reviews, but unfortunately my experience fell flat compared to my expectations. While the girl at check-in was friendly, my manicure experience was different. My artist was late and seemed to be annoyed while rushing her way through the service (even though the whole place was empty). They do seem to be on top of their sanitation though, so that was one worry off the list. I heard of the longevity of their manicures and trusted that it would be fine to get it done the day before I left for vacation. I was wrong. After a prior attempt when this salon was booked all evening on a Sunday, this time I called ahead, and luckily was given an appointment with Cathy. She was fantastic! By far my favorite nail salon in the metroplex. I am more than willing to spend the extra money for the personal touch that I receive at this location. The ladies are nice and always ask is the pressure ok, how are you doing, do you mind me doing XYZ. This to me is a personal touch that I can't get at any other salon. They have streamlined it even more so you can check-in at the front desk. I get the performance polish pedicure every time I go. I like the convenience of being done within 5 minutes after they finish. I highly suggest you come in and give them a try. read more

What a cute salon! Came here and received a polish refresh during an elite event and really enjoyed my experience. The glass doors, white walls and accessories say "classy" all the way! Although, I do sort of feel for the staff who have to keep it clean. I can't imagine. Consider it a good cause ladies, 'cause I sure did feel good! They open as early as 7 am and close at 10 pm for those of you who'd like to drop in before or after work, or a flight. My technician was Thalia and she was the sweetest! Everything was salvageable until I recently experienced their new manager with her assistant manager. What an ATTITUDE!!!! They think they are running some "we don't need to hear your issues...EYE roll, gross service program. I will tell you, I have paid, I have tipped, I have been civil, and if I have an issue because my extensions popped off.... You will be serviceable and be nice. Then night before get a text asking if I booked for one person same service twice in a row or same service for 2 people at same time since they booked it in a row. So texted to cancel and went to a different place. I've been coming here to get my nails done on occasion due to the fact that their nail polishes are supposed to be less toxic than other brands'. Their performance polish also really lasts! Everything feels clean and sterilized, so I don't need to worry about hygiene. Cons: high price (much higher than other nail places), also the pedicure seats are really uncomfortable! They have shared bench-like chairs with 90 degree angled backs (and you could be right next to / very close to a stranger on the same "bench") with no massage functions. If you don't mind paying more and value cleanliness / less toxic ingredients, then I'd recommend Mini Luxe for your nail needs. read more

Great sanitized place - love the kindness and professional staff. Don't like that everything is text based or via the app. Can't always get issues resolved timely at this facility...or ask questions prior to a service. If someone treats you to a service, might use their card instead of yours in error for your next visit. So paying attention to those details you have to check yourself and confirm the credit cards they have on file is yours to be safe, since they won't take cash. But other than a few mishaps, they are still great and I go back because they are a caring facility and like I said, the cleanliness is by far a major attraction, don't have to fear catching fungus or anything health impacting there. read more

I had a HUGELY important event over the weekend and needed to 1) get a manicure as early as possible to reduce my last-minute to-do list and 2) get a manicure that would look amazing on event night. I headed to MiniLuxe because I believed in their focus on paying just a bit more for service in exchange for paying and supporting their employees at a higher level. Another benefit was this item I spotted on the services menu: "Performance Polish Manicure, All components of our signature manicure, finished with performance polish, which dries in 5, wears like gel, and removes like regular polish." Long lasting but not a gel? Sign me up - I've hated the removal process of gel both times I've had it applied. UGH. Anyway, my manicure was very relaxing though I think I must suck the most out of anyone who's ever had a manicure (or any beauty treatment for that matter, including hair cuts) because I hate random small talk. It's such a struggle. I loved loved loved the hand lotion (Lemon-aid, I think it's called). The scent is very mild and seems like something I could use frequently every day without it becoming overpowering. The polish wears well. I'm now on day 4 of the manicure and haven't treated my nails with kid gloves. I've banged them, used my nails as tools and, in short, done nearly everything you aren't supposed to do. I've had a mix of good and bad experiences here. Today, on Mother's Day, I had an 11:40am appointment but because someone else showed up late before me and they tried to accommodate it, my appointment didn't start until 12:10, 30 minutes after my appointment start time. Imagine if I was 30 minutes late to my appointment! They would have just turned me away. The thing that really irritated me about the whole situation is they didn't even apologize or acknowledge how incredibly late my service started and nor did they give me any kind of discount on my service or do anything to try and make it up to me. In fact, no one even offered me a drink during my service today. My nails turned out ok today but not really what I went in hoping for so definitely did not meet or exceed expectations. Based on my experiences, here are some pros and cons of MinuLuxe. Pros: -online appointment booking system, which is super convenient when it works. Mine never does for some reason so I always have to call in to schedule or confirm my appointment. I've heard a new one is coming soon so hopefully that one will work more consistently. -the performance polish has no formaldehyde and last for 2 weeks (sometimes longer) and is fairly priced for a manicure -the majority of the staff are friendly and you don't have to worry that they're talking about you right in front of your face Cons: -they don't have brushes so they can't do any kind of elaborate or fun designs -they use tape to create geometric shapes but they don't guarantee the tape so if it falls off two hours after your mani (like it did to me) you're SOL -the performance polish comes in limited color options. The only thing I didn't appreciate was that no-one ever answered the phone. I am new to the area, couldn't find the place and Google maps kept taking me circles. I wish I could have had someone direct me in the right direction before I walked around for 15-20 mins searching for the location. Came to get a gel manicure. I had Alma and she was fabulous. I removed my NexGen (dip powder) at home prior to my appointment since they do not remove dip but do remove gel. I realized that although dip powder is advertised or talked about being healthy by traditional nail salons, it's not. My bails are extremely brittle and I'm hoping they improve with after visits to MiniLuxe. This salon doesn't use drills/dremmel tools but use a nail file and buffer. The experience was fabulous and the attention to cleanliness is great. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

I can't tell if my disappoint stems from the high expectations that my local salon built up or if this was just a one off for this particular salon. Where do I start... I came here with a group of women pre-wedding (not mine!) to get our fingers and toes painted. I wish i could say it was a pleasant experience. Expectation #1 is that we would all get to sit together and chat while we got our mani/pedis, bummer that part of the group got split up and it wasn't because there was a lack of staff or equipment. Expectation #2 One of us had the powder gel, which seemed to cause a stir in the salon as they had no idea how to remove them. After some confused, muffled discussions, our powder friend was allowed to soak her nails in a bowl of acetone. This worked, fortunately. Expectation #3 I would be done in an hour, because when you pay almost a benny you get two people working on you at once. Nope, this place took OVER an 1.5 hours to complete my nails. Lest I add that i was meeting someone after the appt so i actually had to leave without a second or top coat to my toes. Cool. Things that surprised me: there was no wifi, no tv, and no regular black tea (only flavored). Good thing they don't let you stay with your friends to pass the time, it's super awkward fun just staring at the walls. Some things that I prefer at other salons that this one didn't offer: bags around the pedicure bowls for sanitary reasons, matching gel and non gel colors, the cost of services being posted. Came back for another try- so glad I did! Jennifer is awesome!! She is a gem and so sweet! She's professional And knowledgeable about all products! Waxing was almost no pain! They do not double dip :) Jennifer- she did a wonderful job on the pedicure and manicure. I tried the paraffin treatment for foot and hands. I love the smell. It's a very different process then the regular "dipped your foot in this bag", it's all individually package. So clean and fresh very time. I will mention that the massage that comes with the paraffin pedicure isn't very long- so if that is what you are looking for make sure to upgrade to get a longer massage. I got the manicure with gel upgrade also. Along with services, Jennifer recommended bunch of products, eye cooling treatment, lotion and scrubs. Which I purchased all! Super calm atmosphere, bright lighting, plenty of color options, variety of services, affordable price and great people. It's located in the shops at legacy where there's so much to do. If you pop in here, id also plan to get a bite in one of the restaurants and shop around the stores. I got a manicure and pedicure which were both done just fine. I did enjoy my pedicure more but I think that's generally how most people feel. I got a gel manicure and it lasted without chipping or peeling for a few weeks which was as expected. My pedicure was done in a similar color but used a polish that was similar to gel in that it lasted longer than normal polish but can be removed with nail polish remover. My toe nails are still looking great even now. The staff here is incredibly nice. They offer complimentary wine and hot tea. Everyone was in a great mood and very attentive to all customers. Janel, the manager here was very involved, greeted all customers and offered refreshments. She also told me about options for services I can do with my bridesmaids which they offer in miniluxe or can come to where we are. She's amazing! The atmosphere is great here. Very high ceilings, giant windows allowing plenty of sunlight and soothing music. They also offer a variety of other services like waxings and cosmetic treatments. I've gotten my eyebrows done at their west elm location which Jillian is the best at. I'll definitely try out other services next time I visit. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised with how pretty and calm this place was. I got the add on callus treatment and massage and I'm so so glad I did. You could tell she takes pride in her work. I booked for a group of 4 colleagues and explained, when booking, that we were on a tight schedule. When we arrived, the salon was empty, yet we were kept waiting ten minutes before being able to check in. This despite being greeted by name, so they knew who we were and were expecting us. We were told they had to wait for an empty computer, so they could find out who our technicians were, before we could get started. There were two computers - on one, a client was being checked out. On the other, a staff member was on the phone trying to book an apointment. The manager informed us that she was new and in training, and so she would take a while. I can't make this up. Eventually they checked us in and only then did the technicians start to prepare the foot soak, space etc. Eventually we got started, 15 minutes after we arrived. We informed our technicians we'd need to be out in an hour. My technician glared at me and told me she'd do her best. I told her it was a hard stop, and she informed me that we were already 15 minutes into our appointment time. We had been on time, and standing around waiting in this tiny salon, where she had seen us all along. Again, can't make it up. She totally butchered my hands, as the pictures show, (at one point she actually had to go and get some solution to stop the bleeding), and just did polish on my feet - no scrubbing, scraping, or massage. I was charged for a full manicure and pedicure, despite this - and paid almost $100... I've always gone to the Venetian close by, and only came here because of their Performance manicure, but it chipped anyway, so I will go back to the Venetian, where the staff are always courteous and punctual, and they do a great job. read more

I been to a few locations and have had a great experience each time. This location is closer to me, so this is my preferred spot. Thalia is amazing. My friends, mom and go to see her. Thalia is kind, professional and does a great job. She remembers our conversations from previous appointments. She does book up because she is so popular, so make sure to book ahead of time! We have been here before and during covid. Each time is a clean, spacious and trusting visit. Lily is also another great nail artist. If Thalia is booked, Lily is our next go-to.
