After that, she just worked on my body and let me blissfully zone out. Later, I found out that Iliana is the massage therapist that lots of people request, so if you want a wonderful massage, this is the woman to seek out. The only thing I would have changed: I wish she worked on my glutes a little more! I probably should have told her to go for it, but I was too busy being in that peaceful, liminal space that a great massage puts you in, so I just let it go. In general, I feel like Woodhouse Spa is visited by people who don't get massages regularly, or at all, so perhaps the massage therapists focus more on neutral areas, like the back, neck, legs and arms. Which is fine and understandable. But I've been getting regular massages for a long time, so to me, glutes are a must. I'm fortunate to have a transcendental, all-of-the-superlatives massage therapist who I see regularly, but if I were to visit Woodhouse Spa on a regular basis and see Iliana, I would definitely make it a point to tell her: "Andale pues!" One of the reasons you visit a Woodhouse Spa location is for the facilities. This is a place where you spend at least an hour or two luxuriating under the waterfall showers, contemplating life in the wet and dry sauna, and hanging out in the dark sitting room with a glass of wine or cucumber-infused water. Unfortunately, I didn't get to do any of those fun and relaxing things because I had a busy agenda that day; I barely had time to drink a glass of water in the waiting room before my massage, and then I had to split shortly after. But for everyone else: Do yourself a favor and block off a chunk of time to just spend time futzing around the spa area. The glenbrook one sent me to the other since that one was the one I signed up with. So I proceeded to call west Jefferson who I signed up with and the front desk told me I had to get an override from the manager so I waited all weekend until wednesday when she called. She told me I wasn't allowed to transfer since I was in cancelation. That the time before was a one time courtesy and wouldn't be allowed again. I asked why it was allowed since the contract I signed and the cancelation form didn't say anything about not being able to transfer massages. She said that something she will bring up to corporate and then proceed to say I won't be able to but she can book me a massage.  I think it's ridiculous that, something I had paid for, isn't allowed to be transferred regardless of me canceling my membership. I paid for it and should be allowed to use it how I please. This experience and the cancelation experience has dettered me from ever resigning with massage envy again. I'm disappointed and, quite frankly, disrespected that what I paid for isn't able to be used how I see fit.  I hope this issue can get resolved for me and future customers and ultimately have the west jefferson office(management) aware of policies and not withhold massages and paid for services against any further paying customer.

Annie had just given me a 60 min full body massage and I was so relaxed it took me a few minutes to figure out what errands I had to complete before getting to my tennis match later that evening. I don't get massages often (actually, I can count them all on one hand), but I do have to say, this was probably the best one I've had. Deep enough to let out the tension (ie. hurt), but soothing enough to relax. At one point during the massage I think I was having an 'out of body' moment.' I am glad that there was no conversation other than the very basics, as a few years ago I had one CMT talk the whole way through the session. Also, the ambiance was very relaxing...I guess as relaxing as it can be for a guy (most clients I am guessing are women...if they were men the Spa would have ESPN & sports on several TVs in the waiting area and this was not the case.) Water fountain sounds, soothing music, green tea, and low lights were found...as to be expected. I think we will be going back (oh yeah, my wife also had the same treatment, and she's had more massages than me, and she was also very impressed.) Everyone knows where Spiece is, but I didn't know the Day Spa was there also, tucked around the left corner of the building. I am glad I know now!
