It looks Stonestown in San Francisco is rapidly expanding as a shopping center while other shopping mall in downtown San Francisco seems to be declining. The expansion of many stores inside the Stonestown Mall has me overlook some stores. There is a store which has toys and fun novelties inside. You will also see some familiar characters on merchandise for sale. Miniso started in Guangzhou in China in 2013 and operates over 7,000 retail stores. This San Francisco location you will find anything from regional original area favorite Peanuts items to merchandise from Marvel. This is a good place to find a gift especially when Christmas is around the corner. This also has some characters which you will see as costumes during Halloween. A fun store to browse in, find some cool gadgets, stuff animals, but for me, its not a store id frequent often. Im not too sure what this store specializes in, but some really good gifts or accessories to buy for yourself or kids. Store Itself: Looks fairly new. Haven't been to this mall in years, so i may be mistaken. Bright interior, lots of cool colors, gadgets, stuff animals, and phone accessories. The stuff animals, are what brings me back. Walmart is to Target as Daiso is to Miniso. That's the best way I can describe this little Japanese shop in Westfield Mall located on their food court level. I would have never discovered this shop if it was for my BFF who showed me the way. They have a mix of beauty supplies, household goods, snacks, toys, stationary, clothes, & much more. It's like a mini department store with Japanese products at extremely reasonable prices -- a bit more expensive than Daiso, but I think the quality of the products here were also better. They even have a variety of power banks for your USB devices which is what I ended up buying. The prices are reasonable and I love that my power bank features a polar bear from 'We Bare Bears' 'cause I'm all about the bears! I've been using it regularly ever since and don't know how I've gone without one for so long. There were so many other things in the store that I would've bought in a heartbeat if it weren't for my limited luggage space. This cute Japanese store is a mix of Daiso and Maido (Japanese stationery store in Japantown). Their products are more expensive than Daiso, but cheaper than Maido.They sell beauty supplies, housesware items, snacks, stuffed dolls, stationary, and school supplies. I plan on visiting this place each time I visit SF to stock up on Quincinera gifts for my bf's neices' party in August. They have adorable little gifts for teen girls, stuff you can only get from Japan. I talked to one of their peppy employees and she told me that they have a plethora of Pink Panther dolls because people in Asia love this character. I asked her about some stuff I saw two weeks ago, and she says their stuff gets sold out fast. Once it's gone, it's gone! This peppy little lady was super helpful with price checking and answered all my questions. She was super approachable, which was why I kept pestering her. I saw Miniso at the bottom of Westfield near the food court and was all, "that's new! I don't recognize that!" And my friend said it was better than Daiso so you know we then had to go in and explore. It's bright and light and clean. You'll find shampoo, hair care and cosmetics, skincare, toiletries, aromatherapy, candles, stationary, stuffed animals, neck pillows and pillows, clothes, snacks and cool Asian drinks, and more! What blew me away were the prices. There were packs of compressible face masks for $3 in packs of 30 and 60. I've never seen that before! I was also impressed by their essences and toners--Miniso is where you can get all the skincare items for the 10-step process and have it be under $40...no joke! I've shopped here since the location opened and never had any issues with the employees before today. The person who rang me up, who eventually said she was "the manager" (cashier #US3002, pictured), was incredibly rude to me throughout our interaction and from other recent reviews on here I wonder how many other people have had bad interactions with this individual in particular. If she is indeed "the manager" she needs to be fired - she should not be supervising others on there customer service when she is so incredibly rude to customers. She ignored me waiting at the register for several minutes even though she definitely saw me (she was busy cutting up price labels?), when she finally called for "next" without looking at me, she ignored my greeting of "hello" and didn't say anything else during that transaction, but to tell me the total. I also had a return and she told me I was outside of the 7 day return window even though I'd purchased the item on 11/3 and today is 11/10. I pointed out that she couldn't count the day of purchase as the first day day of my return window because I did not purchase the item at 12:01am on 11/3 and therefore did not have a whole day on 11/3 during which to return the item. The return window starts the day after the day of purchase just like it does at every other store. She then told me she was the manager and that I needed to calm down even though I hadn't raised my voice, cussed, or was otherwise rude, I just pointed out she was incorrect. She then rang up the return without me pushing further, but then after she handed me the receipt she told me I needed to be more respectful next time. I ignored her multiple rude comments and behaviors and left without saying anything further. I might still shop here because they have cute things, but I won't be buying anything if I see her in the store. read more

I love this store for what it is, and it always has a huge stock of blind boxes, Sanrio, stationary, etc. Only thing is that every time I go in there, there are a few extremely rude employees who congregate and have zero volume control when talking poorly about other customers in the store that are minding their business while shopping. Miniso is like a Daiso meets Uniqlo. It has everything from basic beauty products (tweezers, blenders, eye masks, etc.) to stuffed animals (brown bears, broccoli, dogs) to underwear. We walked in not knowing what to expect. It was fun to walk around but my friends and I ended up not buying anything. Items were decently priced but we didn't really need what they had to offer. Was pleasantly surprised to find this location as there's not too many in the Bay (in fact the Bay have only the few in the country!). I may be biased because I'm a huge fan of Miniso and their emphasis on the toys and knickknacks always warm my heart. The kids will love it, for sure. This is not the place to get necessities so it's definitely more of a novelty store. Prices are pretty great- if you're into getting budget beauty items, this is definitely the place to get them. read more

Miniso in downtown has just opened recently. It is located basement floor in Westfield next to Panda Express. Btw, I have never gone to any Miniso store before. This store is my first Miniso. The store is so useful when we want to buy something such as stationeries, household goods, and products for a party with an affordable price. All in all, products have a preference which Asian people like. I mean everything is very simple and they use soft color taste for products. Not everything is so cheap, but still, they are affordable. The store is so neat and easy to find something you want, and staffs are nice. In addition, one bonus point that they have many goods collaborated with "We Bare Bear." (I really like them) If you want to buy something basic and simple, I recommend here. I wish I could give this ZERO STARS. Me and my family came in here to shop and my sister got HARASSED by the security guard, who kept following her. When we confronted the security guard who was inappropriately following my little sister for absolutely no valid reason at all, JA'SSENA, the Miniso employee decided to go through my sister's backpack. She digged through it and grabbed my sister's bright red beanie from the bag, claiming it's a stolen beanie from Miniso. Like WOW, how dare you claim she stole it, we literally came in with the beanie! Plus, there was no red beanie in stock to buy anyway! Do Miniso employees not know their own products?! Then she makes the remark, "this family is stealing," aloud. This is extremely inappropriate and totally uncalled for. Is this how Miniso teach their employees to treat their customers? horrible and absolutely unprofessional. i went to miniso with my friends early today and the service we received was extremely rude. a security guard (looked 40 - 50 y/o, mustache and glasses) kept following my friends and i today, which made me feel super uncomfortable. first off, a few of us had already bought some stuff and we still wanted to look around in the store, in PEACE. but no, the old security man kept following us and eyeing our actions. it's unsettling considering we're a group of teenage GIRLS. i understand that we may look suspicious but it's upsetting since he and even the cashiers saw our purchases. other people around the same age as us were DOING THE SAME THING. we weren't violating rules or bothering anyone either. after a few more walk and look arounds, i saw him whisper something to the cashier, probably accusing us of stealing or disruption. the cashier walked up to us and said something about us having to leave and the security guard held up two keychains, saying that my friend's sister tried to steal this. what? first of all, she looked at them, decided she didn't want it and put it back. The store was fine. Staff were fine, except for the security guard. I was going to purchase some stuffed toys, but they didn't have change for a hundred bill, which is understandable. So my friend went to get change for me at the nearest Bank of America. What made me extremely uncomfortable, was how the security guard kept following ME, just me around. Although there were other people in the store. Everywhere I went, he was tailing me. When my friends came back, he kept following us AGAIN even when other people, teenagers same age of us were there. i went to miniso to shop with my friend. i would rate it 0 stars if i could. the security guy was following us the whole time despite making multiple purchases. there were other people in the store and other teenagers but he continued to follow us. it made us feel really uncomfortable :/ update: the security guy told the manager to ask us to leave. we just made our purchases. he picked up an item we put back since we decided not to buy it and said we were trying to steal that item. we bought so much stuff, why would we try to steal if we bought it? i get that we might be suspicious because we are teenagers but we were holding our money to show that we obviously had the money to make a purchase. this made me really upset, when we told the manager how uncomfortable he was making us, she walked away and laughed it off. the security guard didnt apologize after. this made me so upset that i left the store. on miniso's website, they mention how they do not sell their products online because they want their customers to enjoy the in-store experience but i did enjoy this experience at all. i have been to miniso before and their old security guard did not do this. he made me and my friends HIGHLY uncomfortable as well as many other people on yelp! what upset me the most is the audacity he has to ACCUSE us of stealing without proof whatsoever. there are security cameras throughout the store, it was very unnecessary to be surveillance us like that. the way they handled the situation itself was very unprofessional at that. we were falsely accused and wasn't even given an apology by either the security guard or manager. the manager was sure herself, saying the we "apparently" had to leave. when i explained myself, she had no words at all. instead, she turnt around and walked away laughing. the security guard had no words at all and instead walked away. even when leaving the store, he was STILL watching us. everything about the situation was inappropriate. being a group of teenager girls walking and shopping around the store, to have an old middle age man eye us in every corner, watching our every move despite a number of people in the store was extremely uncomfortable. we will not be going to this store again. i feel highly offended. miniso needs to hire better staff/employees and learn to train them properly. i am disappointed. read more

I was in your Westfield San Francisco location today at 11:15am. I am the Shop Manager of a store and I had seen your store in the Newark Mall in Newark. I had some time today and wanted to look around at some of the items. I looked around for about 10 minutes and other people of all ethnic backgrounds but, as I was leaving I was single out to look inside of my bag. I had nothing and would not take anything. I told him this. He argued with me. I asked cashiers for Manager she said Manager was off but, shift Manager would be in at noon. I left my name and number and asked to be called. I will also try to contact corporate and contact the Mall. This security guard should not be working in a store and maybe this store is not the right fit for the mall since there are a diverse group of people that shop in the mall and everyone is not there to steal. going to this store the first time in my entire life, i expected to feel comfortable & pleasant arriving to this store as i have went through many boundaries just to get to the store ! although when i arrived i was greeted with unexpectedly horrible customer service & feeling uncomfortable the entire time being there. this is the first time this has happened to me, even a one star nail shop's customer service would not be this bad. the security staff had followed me around the entire store as i hadn't even bothered to purchase anything & he had kept looking at not just me but also my group. some of my group came here before i did and were being also followed even after they had already purchased their items. i had picked an item up & put it back on one of the shelves after i decided not to purchase it. it was ridiculously hilarious. we noticed we were being followed around the shop and surely the security guard noticed we did too. we were still being followed until shortly later, the security guard (not sure about his name, has a mustache, looked middle aged (40s or 50s?)) had pointed to our group & the manager/employee had came to us & told us to leave. (im not sure as of her name but she also worked at the cashier when we arrived which was around 12 pm) asked to why, being confused as we had done absolutely nothing to violate any rules nor had we bothered anybody. we were just browsing around the store & some of us had already purchased items. the security guard held up 2 items & said i "attempted to steal" items when i had PUT it back on the shelf after deciding i don't want to buy it. he tried to frame me for something with a ridiculously stupid reason & a stupid excuse to probably cover up why he was even following not just me but our group in the first place. *yes, TOTALLY because if i take a item from a rack, that means i have to purchase it because if i put it back then that's "attempted stealing"* to the security's reason to frame me for attempted stealing & probably a ridiculous excuse to why he had even followed not just me but my group around the store. if i tried to attempt to steal something, i would have not put it back on the rack in the first place nor would he have had it in his hand. when we explained ourselves & that he had been following us around the store nearly the whole time & when he realized his reason for "attempted stealing" was stupid and made no absolute logical sense (not even Albert Einstein could interpret or understand if he was still alive today) all the manager & the security guard/employee had said was "nevermind" not even attempting to apologize for anything & the manager/employee even dared to just laugh it off turning her back. this is honestly sad, with very booty customer service, we decided to leave the store out of frustration after seeing and experiencing this GREAT, 5 STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! which i had regretted since we should have cursed them out as gratitude for their great customer service and framing with no absolute logical sense. the behavior of the staff and the people that work in your store is totally uncalled for; we had stepped simply in the store like any other customer, browsed around, didn't bother anybody, and even purchased items. i hope no one has to experience this dumb ass customer service as much as i did. read more
