The first few visits were outstanding, but recent visits have just been ok. There's often an unusually long wait for your order and they often appear overwhelmed. While the meat continues to be great, the rest of plates and wraps are just ok. The owner is exceptionally nice and I hope this business is successful, but the recipes and operations need a bit of work. read more

Friendly owner and staff welcomed us and gave us and everyone who came in a complimentary falafel fresh out of the kitchen on a fork topped with sauce and garnish--which were the best falafels i ever had in my life. Not only were they free but the best i ever had?! My expectations for the main dish: lamb & beef gyro plate only grew larger. We got the food togo and upon unboxing I was already thrilled. Upon first bite of the meat & hummus I was blown away by the incredible flavor and freshness of the food. My favorite mediterranean spot used to be golden olive but i think this is it now. First time here and so glad we stumbled across this! Great genuine service! Falafel was fresh, crisp, nicely seasoned and topped with great garnishes.. great little appetizer before our mains! 1. I love the free falafel. I thought this was just something they were giving out when they first opened as a grand opening thing, but they did it again when I went this past weekend! 2. Really appreciate a (small) parking lot, makes grabbing food to go much easier. The food here is delicious and the portion sizes are big enough for me to have two meals with it (which I did this past Saturday!), which makes the price quite nice. The staff are friendly. The gyro meat is yummy, the falafel is great (different in texture than I'm used to, in the best way), their Greek fries were also exactly how I like Mediterranean fries (that different texture fry), and I really like their babaganoush! read more

Really great experience. Easy to order online through toast and pick up was a breeze. They have a small parking lot out front which made it really easy to run in. They even gave us a free falafel to try which was fresh and so delicious!!! We ordered the falafel sandwich, shawarma salad, lentil soup, and two shawarma plates. Minna is a new restaurant, and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt as they get up to speed, but there were problems. The staff was friendly, and on each visit they provided a felafel on a fork to eat while waiting - the felafels are good, and this is a nice gesture. My first order was over the phone, and it was a frustrating experience - the person who answered the phone had trouble both understanding me and making himself understood - clearly English is not his first language. I'm sure that will improve over time. The restaurant itself is largely focused on takeout orders - although there are some tables and chairs, the atmosphere is stark and unadorned - and most of the chairs were occupied by people waiting for their orders - it was not a place you'd want to sit and eat (though you could). The ordering system in the restaurant is an ultra-modern computer interface with big touch screens and automated payment - clearly somewhere there is someone behind this restaurant with some money - compared to the computer for ordering, the behind the counter setup was minimalist and simple, just the bare bones needed to provide the food. When I walked in and ordered lunch using the computer screen, the order was easy and the receipt was accurate - the gyro was pretty good - the beef/lamb gyro meat was tasty, the pita fresh. There was way too much salad, not enough tahini or tzatziki or whatever ... but on the whole, it was ok. When we ordered dinner by phone, we ordered a felafel plate and a lamb shish kebab plate. The felafel balls were good and flavorful. They were accompanied with hummus, what appeared to be baba ghanoush, along with salad, pita, and a side of tahini. The hummus and baba ghanoush (if that's indeed what it was, perhaps it's something else similar?) were both bland and not very appealing, lacking in garlic or other flavor. There really wasn't enough pita to allow easy consumption of the hummus and baba ghanoush. The salad was pretty standard and bland (though it did include cucumbers) and the tahini could be used either on the felafel or the salad, but the salad didn't have it's own dressing, and neither of us finished our salads. The lamb in the shish kebab plate was flavorful, but of middling quality - some fairly good, some quite chewy. The lamb came with rice, salad, pita, and some tahini on top of the lamb. Without any kind of salad dressing, the salad didn't really work. And then there was the bill. I was given a receipt, which I didn't examine in the restaurant, but it was for someone else's dinner, a different order entirely. When I added up the costs of the food I ordered (and got) based on their menu on-line, the lamb kebab plate was $17.50, the felafel plate $13.00. That's a subtotal of $30.50 + 10.35% sales tax, would make it $33.66. I did leave a standard tip (as I recall, the choices on the payment screen were 18%, 20% and 22%?, but I could be wrong). Since my usual tip is 20%, and they take the percentage of the pre-tax amount, that would have been $6.10. That would have been a total of $39.76. But the charge that appeared on my credit card was $42.36. And not only was the amount wrong, but it didn't match the receipt I was given that was for someone else's food either. Do you get a pattern here? Despite their fancy computer system, they didn't charge me for what I ordered and got, totally an amateur operation in that regard, including getting the wrong receipt, and the wrong total charge. So sadly, as much as I wanted to like this new startup restaurant, I was disappointed. After two visits with similar experiences, I won't be going back. They will probably work the kinks out over time, and I want to support a small business getting started, but it's hard to recommend a place with so many issues - I hope they up their game soon. read more

Food is fantastic. Also, the free falafel they give out might be the tastiest falafel I have ever tried. They cover it with a sauce and fresh parsley which helps with the experience. It is also super fresh. It made me wish that we had actually ordered some. Because we were ordering Ethiopian food at the same time to go, we only ordered the vegetarian plate. Stopped in with a friend for lunch. I got the Gyro Salad, some veggie dolma and a Vimto drink. All were very good. I was given a sample of falafel and it was also very good. May have been the best I have had in Seattle. I tried some of my friend's hummus with fresh pita. I enjoyed it very much. Next time will get the falafel plate. New place opened up in 2025. Staff is very generous with a free falafel on a fork, very nice gesture :) They have a digital kiosk for ordering, and a few nice and clean tables within. The food was very good and the falafel was delicious and crumbly after the first bite. The baba ghanoush and hummus were also good and the falafel plate is a nice wholesome vegetarian meal! Few folks complained about the size of the chicken shawarma but the wrap was just right and easy to eat. This place was doing brisk takeout business post 8pm! read more

Deeply Disappointing and Uncomfortable Experience I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at Minna Mediterranean Restaurant on Cherry Street because of how disheartening it was. My daughter and I stopped in for dinner, genuinely excited to try a new neighborhood spot. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. When my daughter and I arrived, I locked eyes with one of the gentlemen behind the counter and I greeted him, but instead of returning the greeting, he averted his gaze and both men turned their backs suddenly busying themselves with something and mumbled under their breath. We were the only ones in the restaurant. I thought wow, OK we aren't off to a good start, and it only got worse from there. When I asked for a menu, the man simply pointed to the ordering kiosk without acknowledgment or explanation. They did not say a single word to us the entire time we were there. The silence and lack of hospitality made the experience feel awkward and exclusionary, and after a few moments, my daughter and I decided to leave. As we walked out, a man and what I assumed was his young son entered -- and the contrast was stark. They were greeted immediately, with warmth and conversation, even offered complimentary falafel samples. The difference in treatment was unmistakable and painful to experience. My daughter commented "they weren't very kind, were they Mom." I said no sweetie. They were not. It's unfortunate and deeply disappointing to experience such disparity in how potential customers are treated and particularly for a new business that I would imagine would want to establish itself by being welcoming to customers, and especially because it's located in the CD. It left me feeling disheartened, especially after we had an amazing experience at Zara Jo, another local business earlier that day where the staff were warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. The complete opposite of what we experienced here. I sincerely hope the owners take this feedback to heart and reflect on how they engage with all customers. Everyone deserves to feel seen, respected, and welcome, especially if you hope to thrive in a diverse neighborhood. read more

While the staff was friendly and I appreciated the free falafel sample, the food itself was unfortunately awful. The Kefta and shawarma meat had a strange, almost chemical/plastic aftertaste; the falafel plate was severely undercooked--basically raw in the middle. Great option for vegans! The falafel sandwich is very good! Lots of veggies and excellent flavor. When we came into the restaurant, the owner greeted us with falafel samples, which were very good. If you live in the central district, I would highly recommend checking this place out.
