The staff were incredibly rude and condescending. My trip was booked through Expedia and the man at the front desk told me he hated it when people book through third party websites. I felt like I was treated as a second-rate guest even though I waaaayyyy over paid for the quality of the room and service I received. The room itself was clean, but cramped and nothing to write home about. I ate dinner at the pub onsite and the food was mediocre and service was slow (1/2 hour to get my drink) and it wasn't even busy. Maybe if I would have shown up in a business suit I would have been treated better. Will never stay here again! read more

Rooms are clean, updated, and employees are friendly. The service at the front desk is fast and there never seems to be a line. There is a pub/bar/restaurant downstairs. Connected to the hotel is the Courtyard where they have a Starbucks bistro option for drinks and some breakfast items. The eating area there is very comfortable. Stayed here 2 nights for a work trip. Check-in was smooth, but the woman who checked me in was definitely micro-aggressive. I watched her be warm with other guests, but that changed up for me. I thought I read her wrong, so I watched her with the guest after me and she was super nice with them as well. My first room had what appeared to be blood splatter on the lampshade, so I asked to be moved. The second room had a bit of damage that I was going to see past, but then I turned on the AC and it was so loud I couldn't hear myself think. I went to the desk again and they sent an engineer to work on it. He did get it down, but it was still humming a bit so he recommended I just move again. Third room was okay. The beds are amazing, but the walls are paper thin. So thin to where I woke from hearing someone else's alarm though the wall!! Due to COVID they do not have housekeeping unless you request. When I requested fresh towels at the desk, they did bring them while I was out, but they left the dirty ones behind. Thought I planned to, I did not get around use the pool or the gym, but I did walk around and view both and they were decent. The pool is indoor and heated. They gym is 24 hours. I did not eat at the restaurant, but I did attempt to go to the Starbucks which oddly closes at 9:30am on weekdays. I've never known a Starbucks to close so early, so I had no idea when I went my first morning before my event. I'm not really sure WHAT was going on there...but first they were like WE'RE CLOSED. Ok make sense, but yet my coworker was getting coffee?? Then, they verbally offered to still make me a drink, while giving body language like they didn't want to. But then they still offered to make the drink, so I obliged and my coworker paid for it. Then the workers disappeared to the back, and it seemed like no one was making the drink, so we asked someone else about it. That lady came over and one of the people who acted funny tried to give it to me for free. But As mentioned my co-worker had already paid...so they took my name down for a free drink the next day. Too bad I left for the airport at 6:45 and they didn't open til 7. Just all around weird vibes. Anyhoo. I interacted with John the most, as he was the person who drove the shuttle most times. We and our guests stayed at the Marriott West for our wedding, and they were so wonderful to work with from day 1. Sammy was the main contact with my mom, and she was so responsive and able to work with our changing needs. We ended up having guests saying for nearly a week due to travel, and these days all counted towards our block. We were able to have the front desk hand out welcome bags to our guests, and everyone enjoyed their stay. We were able to have private patio space to entertain, and they were very flexible with check-in and -out. Would highly recommend for your hotel block! read more

Updated and cozy hotel. Not the easiest location to get to, especially when their entrance sign is currently a vinyl sign. However, it was very nice inside the rooms and in the lobby. One complaint was that no indication was made that there are actually two hotels put into one. The directions to the hotel led us to the other side. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast. I ordered the Minnesotan omelet and was very excited to try the mushrooms, chicken, and of course wild rice! I was extremely disappointed as the wild rice , Minnesota being the wild rice capital of the world (self proclaimed). The wild rice was a white rice blend with a few wild rice chunks, utterly ashamed to have this be called their Minnesotan omelet. The only redemption was those succulent hash browns, they had added seasonings that just made them so much more than regular boring hash browns. read more

By recommendation by our potential client, we booked at this fairly sizable and modern Minneapolis Marriott West Hotel. The hotel is located in St. Louis Park which is near US Bank Stadium. When we first arrived they welcomed us with a complimentary glass of red or white wine. The Hotel was combined in physical structure to their Court Yard hotel which was very convenient. The Marriott Hotel room was spacious with a luxurious modern bathroom along with a very comfortable bedroom bed. The fitness center was well equipped and the indoor pool was fairly large well maintained. In addition, there was an Irish Pub part of the complex that one can find sporting events on flat screens along with a comfortable bar area. This is one of the better Marriott Hotels that I have recently lodge in the past year. read more

When you look at Marriotts core values of "act with integrity", "we put people first", "we pursue excellence" this is why we chose AC Marriott West End St Louis Park, MN, for our wedding guests hotel. There were other options, cheaper options but we wanted our guests to stay someplace special. Friday night 1/6/23 at our rehearsal, our guests were telling us how pleased they were with the hotel. Saturday, 1/7/23 the day of the wedding the family of the groom needed to shower and there was only air coming through the pipes. There was no hot water in the other guests rooms. A water pipe had burst. The family and guests had to scramble and it was beyond embarrassing that the groom's father had to go to his son's apartment complex to shower. He was rattled and stressed the rest of the day. The worst part was when they requested credit for their Saturday stay, they were refused. Now that doesn't sound like a company living out their core values of putting the customer first or acting with integrity. The other guests with only cold water were only offered a free breakfast. We are beyond mortified. I will continue to post our story so future brides will see AC Marriott West End does not stand by their guests. Do not send them your business. read more

They were able to let me check in a few hours early AND I was able to get my car shipped and stored there overnight until I arrived at the hotel. The hotel room itself was cleaned very well, had all the amenities I needed, and the onsite restaurant/Starbucks were great. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are only trying to stay close to the airport. However, I would recommend this hotel if you are trying to stay in a quiet area, at a realistic price point, and being about 10-20 min. away from more common areas (Downtown, Uptown, Mall of America, etc.). read more

I'm surprised, quite honestly, that this establishment didn't receive higher rankings, on average. Admittedly, it's not as fancy as some of the huge Marriotts in our nation's most prominent entertainment cities, but I felt the value was superlative and the amenities were solid. We had some slight issues with the heater on night one - apparently the coils get funky every so often when it's NEGATIVE NINE DEGREES outside. Don't even get me started on why someone would choose to live in weather like that. A maintenance guy came up stairs around midnight and banged it fixed in 5 minutes. Well done. The front desk was helpful throughout our stay, the beds were comfortable, the TV worked, the soaps/shampoo were nice-smelling ... though I think I had a little bit of an allergic reaction to the lotion. I stopped using it after I noticed. Not the first travel goop that reacts with me. This is not the hotel's fault. The restaurant downstairs was convenient, the shower water pressure was above-average, and overall, I liked it. I often have issues sleeping the first night in a hotel bed, but I did just fine here despite being on west coast time. Oh, I believe we were in a suite, too, and still it was only a few bucks more than a Motel 6 on the California Coast. So, there's that. read more

This hotel is usually spot on in all facets. However this most recent visit has me looking for accommodations elsewhere for my next visit to MN. Have been staying here since 2017 when we moved from MN, usually come back 1-2 times a year and this will be my last time at this hotel. Now I will admit i made the mistake of somehow forgetting to book my hotel when i was reserving airfare and car rental, so that obviously is my fault. Once I realized that while eating lunch prior to checkin, i checked availability for Marriotts on their mobile app, saw that this place still had king bed rooms for $149/night so i knew we would be fine. Shortly after that i arrived at the lobby, explained the situation to Annie at the front desk, admittedly in hopes that maybe i could score a little better deal than their website offered. So Annie immediately said they were overbooked on king beds and that none were available, then proceeded to tell me she had a double queen room for $225/night. When i showed her the mobile app saying i could book a king room at $149/night she immediately got irritated and started saying thats wrong and not accurate. And i can reserve a king room but she wont honor it because they aren't available. I said ok, well im still going to book it on the app for that price, since she seemed to be trying to gouge me, take the queen room and move on with life. She then slides my card across the desk, says you can do whatever you want, then stomps away with a bad attitude. So i did, booked the room at the rate on the site, proceeded to then check in with Karissa , who was pleasant and helpful. Annie comes back during this, mumbles something to Karissa and then gives me a side eye look before wandering off again. Literally the only reason i didnt walk off at that point was because i had a party of 20 people joining us for Brunch at Kips sunday, and didnt want to coordinate moving that group last minute. But yeah, if management is reading this, you might want to have an attitude adjustment seminar with Annie. She needs it, and she needs to learn not to try and take advantage of a Marriott Gold Member as that just cost you any future business from myself and anyone else i have sent your way the last 5 years. I'll gladly spend twice the rate at the locations in Maple Grove or downtown. read more

Came to the hotel with a large group of family (90% adults), for a family reunion/wedding. While the rooms are nice, don't even think about talking and visiting in any of the many sitting areas located on the first floor. You will get shushed by the eagle eyed manager every 2 seconds, even if you're talking quietly. It's absolutely insane!!!! Ruined the visiting time, but made for a lot of good jokes. Because of that, I wouldn't recommend coming here with a group. Also the one restaurant is open from 3-9. Ridiculous is you want to have a bite to eat before, or after that time frame. read more

This is a little outside downtown but the BONUS is the GYM. The gym was spacious and had a ton of equipment. Unfortunately my first morning here there must have been a convention of sorts because at 5:30 AM all the machines were taken and it was packed. The ceilings were double height which is nice for jump roping. The room is clean and cool. Plenty of towels. The drinking fountain has a bottle filler feature. Plenty of weights and room to stretch and lift. This was the best hotel gym except for a hotel that had the actual town gym as its gym so that would be very difficult to top but this is a good, strong second. This Marriott West located 15 minutes off the 394 from Minneapolis is unique since the Courtyard connects to this hotel. Its not very simple to access from the freeway but provides privacy and less car traffic due to the location but can be seen from the 394 freeway. The only restaurant is the Irish pub and unfortunately is now serving dinner only. A Starbucks kiosk opens in the mornings to replace the former breakfast routine provided by the attached restaurant. The 7th floor is also closed and housekeeping is suspended during covid 19. The good news 8s that the restaurant is good for dinner selection and the fitness center is 24 hours and provides stress relief. Other restaurant choices are a few miles away and a major mall is 10 minutes away by taking side streets. The front desk staff is very professional but be wary of guests who will make verbal comments or snipes if you don't wear a mask in closed spaces such as the elevator. Parking is free and easily available and the lobby is clean, comfortable, and inviting to all to use. Koi fish are welcoming when you first walk towards the main doors. I would have given a higher rating if there was housekeeping or the management would have arranged another comparable option to get lounge privileges substituted. read more

As traveling artist we stay at a lot of hotels this one is by far our favorite. The staff was kind and accommodating, check in was so easy and fast! The room was spacious and all the furniture is up to date and comfortable.The bathroom had the best lighting for makeup for our show and the shower had double heads. The closet was cleverly hid behind the sliding bathroom door, and we were able to iron our costumes. Just when you think you've made a wrong turn, twisting your way down the road filled with old town home developments, you round the bend and *boom* you find the hotel next to a financial business building. Hopefully, you won't go *boom* like I did... into a large pot hole (a good 200 feet from the construction zone too). I will assume that this will get fixed. But parking is spacious and easy to come by. Check in was easy and so was finding my room. A good layout and obviously situated to accommodate the business professional. The room was cleaner than most hotels of this caliber that I've stayed in. It wasn't spotless, but it was damn close. It was also quiet, save for the occasional plane flying overhead. I am told that the issue will be routinely changed the following Wednesday. The food was good, though nothing special. Keep in mind, I did not get the chance to eat at Kips, their restaurant. One patron waxed in about the delicious food there. He looked and sounded like a foodie, so I will take him at his word. The staff are friendly and there when you need someone. They are sparse when they should be. They seemed to care about my stay as I checked out. Overall, a good solid stay. read more

I recently stayed in the new Courtyard property adjacent to the main hotel. In a word, it's beautiful. The room is spacious, well-decorated and save for a microwave, pretty much has all the amenities you could want in a hotel room. The staff is also very courteous and it's conveniently located next to several major roadways, making travel and getting around easy. I have no idea when I will be back in Minneapolis again, but I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who will be in the area. read more

I stayed here for a few days while in town for work. Upon walking in I noticed that the lobby was really nice. Like, nice enough to just hang out in. There was a casual vibe about it that made it more of a relaxed environment than other Marriotts I've been to. The check in process was super easy and I was in my room within a few minutes. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Of course, the bed was comfy and I had all the amenities I needed. The only thing that didn't work for me was the where the room was located. I was on the 3rd floor and my balcony overlooked the lobby (is that weird, or is just me? Normally, your balcony overlooks outside, right?). At first I thought, "Hmm, this is interesting". However, it was really annoying at night because there were always people hanging out in the lobby. Especially, because most of those people spilled out of the attached restaurant after having a couple of drinks. It wasn't a problem during the early evening, but it stretched into 9pm. At that point I was over being in the room. Lastly, I used the gym and it was your typical hotel gym. Not too much strength training equipment outside of free weights. But, there was quite a bit of cardio equipment. It was one of the nicer Marriotts I've been to and if I stay again I'll make sure to get a room that doesn't face the lobby. read more

The hotel staff is friendly and excellent and rooms are good. The breakfast buffet is the worst I have experienced anywhere in the world. It was just awful. The only thing decent was the water. Even the milk was warm in a negative way. Some little boxes of cold cereal, rubbery eggs, some excuse for sausage, and no fresh fruit, hot cereal, self-made waffles or much of anything else. Hotel 6, if it has a buffet, would do better. Motel 8 definitely is better. Other lower and mid priced motels and hotels definitely have better food. Plus some in our group ate at Kip's and got food poisoning. Maybe half a dozen teens and also adults. Eat at the Marriott West and spend the night throwing up. There are some serious cleanliness and safe food violations going on. Marriott definitely needs to investigate and correct. read more

***This Marriott features great service though the rooms and Concierge Lounge were both dated*** This Marriott is located several miles outside of Downtown Minneapolis, but its location is fairly convenient as this hotel is not too far of a drive to popular Downtown spots or outside-of-the-city attractions/destinations like Mall of America and the Minneapolis International Airport. The hotel itself has a nice exterior when driving up and the surrounding area seems well kept. The lobby has a welcoming, warm and contemporary look too. The rooms are a tad dated though. Of course, many Marriott hotels are dated and this Marriott employs the standard hotel room design you will find at most Marriott located outside of downtown metros. The room was comfortable (nice bed and decent room temperature). The bedroom was spacious; the bathroom was an okay size--not huge but also not crammed like you get at some of the dated Marriott brand hotels. The only negative I experienced in the room was the water temperature in the shower. One morning, it took at least 2 minutes for the water to get hot. The Concierge Lounge is also where this hotel could use improvements. Nightly appetizers featured a fairly boring cheese and cracker platter. I did not love the option of chicken pot pie, but it was surprisingly the same recipe as what is served in this hotel's restaurant. The only difference is the pastry integration--the Concierge Lounge features several pastry squares on top of the creamy chicken and vegetable mix in a buffet platter serving dish while the restaurant offer individual crocks covered in puff pastry. Breakfast was where this Concierge Lounge really fell short. Hot items included a big baked scrambled egg concoction--like a big quiche; it was not fluffy or loose like good scrambled eggs. I did not care for the flavor either. A lot of people do not like eggs for the unpleasant odor they can emit and that was what happened here. There was also no breakfast meat option either--just breakfast potatoes. They did not have that much of a variety of breakfast pastries or breads. They did have a good collection of individual boxes of cereal. This hotel's catering for their banquet rooms and meetings was much better. Their breakfast still featured a solid quiche-like scrambled eggs preparation in a buffet platter though their bacon was very good quality (I would have preferred a less sweet smoked flavoring though). Their coffee cake was good. Their hot lunch was impressive. It featured a surprisingly moist pork loin and a creamy and not too heavy or buttery roasted red pepper mashed potatoes. The lunch buffet also came with good broccolini and roasted butternut squash that was not too sweet. Dessert was a cheesecake topped with crunchy nuts and a sticky and thick dulce de leche. Service throughout the hotel was very pleasant and attentive. The welcome was well done with complimentary wine or hot chocolate to help deal with Minneapolis' cold weather and snow in December. Weekend room rates here are very reasonable. I find their weekday room rates slightly high given this hotel's just okay location and dated feel. Minneapolis Marriott West is an okay and serviceable hotel though you will find a much more contemporary and upscale experience at the Minneapolis Downtown City Center hotel. This hotel offers free self parking. It is easy finding an open space. read more

It's a great place for conventions, which is usually my reason for being there.The lobby is nice to hang out in with plenty of natural sunlight. You actually feel welcome to hang out there. There's a handy Caribou, which is the more tolerable chain. Staff are very nice. Going from the rooms to the restaurant isn't a schlep either. Kips is awesome. I'd recommend this highly if you're in SLP. Lots of good eats out this way too. read more

It has 7 floors and a concierge lounge, pool, gym, bar, and coffee stand. Parking is free, but internet is $9.99 per night. This is an example of place that only exists for business travelers. The Marriott Minneapolis West was just okay for me. It's clean, comfortable and pretty much what you would expect from a business hotel. Here come the buts: 1. Dining options - There's a Caribou Coffee and a meh restaurant on site, but that's it. I'm not that familiar with the area (or Minneapolis or the whole Midwest for that matter), but I don't think there's anything else in walking distance. There is also no room service, which is a bummer. 2. Internet - I think internet costs $9.99/day which is ridiculous. I got around this my connecting to the lobby wifi (from my 5th floor room) which is free. 3. Noise - The air in my room was insanely loud. This was probably a fluke, but yeah, right when I was about to fall asleep, the air kicked on and woke me up. Ugh. 4. Far from airport - I wasn't staying here because it was conveniently located to the airport, but still I was surprised that it cost over $70 (including tip) for a cab ride. Oh well, thank goodness for expense accounts. So there you go! I have definitely stayed at better Marriotts, but this one is alright if you have business in the area. There is also a free shuttle that will take you anywhere in the area, but be sure to schedule it in advance because it only leaves every 20 minutes and slots get booked up. read more

The property was fine and it looks like it's been around a while, somewhat dated. The check-in was smooth and everyone we interacted with was pleasant. The room was okay but nothing spectacular, just a standard Marriott. The phone didn't work but I didn't call to report it. The shower had a high-pit whine when the hot water was turned on. The toiletries were quality and there were plenty. Breakfast was not included and that was a let down. There was lots of free parking. My sister had her wedding reception here and we had a lovely time. The front desk staff was THE nicest I have ever dealt with. They were polite and cheerful, & extremely accomodating. They checked us into the bridal suite at 9 a.m., had champagne glasses already waiting for us (we did hair and makeup in the suite), and had other room service upstairs within minutes. Rooms were clean, updated, fairly spacious, and Fantastic service. FIVE STARS. The reception, 3 stars, so it averages out to 4. This was an hors d'oeuvre and cocktail reception, and they simply ran out of food. This should have been taken care of by the event planner, making sure that there would be enough food to serve the number of patrons attending. The bartenders were not really "on their game" either. And overall it was VERY overpriced...and I know how much weddings cost. All in all though, the room did look beautiful, and we did party til 1 a.m. Thanks for a lovely weekend Marriot! We would definitely stay here on our next trip back to MN, should we need a hotel room :) Oh! And....AMAZING pricing for the block of rooms reserved for the wedding...fabulous. read more

It was great to be back at my favorite Marriott on the West side of Minneapolis. They've remodeled the place, and even though Dan is no longer the manager, the support staff at the front desk was superb. Great room as always, and near downtown. read more

So the staff was very nice and helpful people. They respected you no matter who you are. Normally going to places like this they don't appreciate younger kids and look at them as a nuisance. This hotel was very nice to the young. The condition of the rooms was well kept but the overall comfort was not as good the towels in the bathroom felt crusty and the shampoo and body wash smelt really bad. There was breakfast but not built in with your room. Bathrooms are also not meant for tall people my friend had a very hard time using it. read more
