Attended a con here. While most of it took part in the larger hall spaces, they had room parties at night in the actual hotel rooms. It was a lot of people and the rooms were extremely hot (it was spring time so air probably wasn't on but definitely needed to be for the amount of people attending). Some rooms were smaller, some were suites.. Overall decent sizes. I feel the decor was a bit dated but not a big deal. The lobby is really nice with plenty of seating. Not really sure what the actual parking situation is because we parked at meters a block or so away and walked over each time/day. Stayed here for a three day conference and I would not recommend unless you like bed bugs and glass in your food. If the way in which management handled these two separate situations I wouldn't have to leave this review however when a sister is met with "maybe you brought the bugs" or "maybe you put the glass in your dessert" something has to be said. Additionally downtown Minneapolis has left a lot to be desired but this particular hotel is in a seedier/unsafe portion of downtown.....so I would not recommend venturing out at night alone. read more

Probably one of the worst experiences I've had with a hotel ever. We booked a 2 queen room for 4 nights and when we went to check in around 1:30am, the front desk claimed they sent an email letting us know that our first night was rebooked with a different hotel. We were already exhausted at this point and I had received email confirmation of our 4 night stay, yet I still had to argue with the front desk about it for a solid 20 minutes before they finally put us in a 1 king room. When we went to pay incidental I noticed they were trying to charge me ~$300 because they claimed I would have to PAY for an ADDITIONAL night and get a refund from the other hotel that we did NOT book with. Obviously we weren't going to pay when the hotel itself messed up, so we finally pay just the incidental deposit and go to sleep. Next day on Friday, we're out of the room and I notice I get a $230 charge to my credit card from the hotel. We had to go all the way back and wait another 20-30 minutes for a manager to come out and apologize and claim that they'll refund that charge within 3 business days. We figured the matter was settled now. Now come check-out time on Monday, we check out and leave the hotel. While we're in the Uber on the way out I get yet ANOTHER charge to my card for $220. I had to talk to the hotel AGAIN and get them to prepare ANOTHER refund for this, but by this point I'm exhausted by all of the mess and constant back and forth just to fix the hotels mistakes. I ask them to provide at least a partial refund for our stay considering I spent a significant amount of my vacation arguing with hotel staff over their own mistake and was charged an extra $450 for no reason. They REFUSE to make amends and say because I booked through a third party I can't get any form of refund. This was news to me, because I booked directly through Hyatt's website. I genuinely couldn't BELIEVE the horrible service of this hotel, nor their audacity. I also couldn't believe they would claim I booked through a third party even though I clearly didn't just to avoid giving any sort of compensation back to us. This experience is enough to put me off Hyatt in general going forward. DO NOT BOOK read more

What a great Hyatt! I was in there for a convention and this was the negotiated hotel for that event. Check-In was very easy and quick. Our group had made reservations under one person's credit card and name, and the hotel was very accommodating in getting us all checked in, key cards sorted and the like. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. I really appreciated the number of outlets so that I could keep all of my devices charged and ready to use. The general store in the lobby was a great place to stop and grab a coffee. I found the prices in there pretty reasonable, of course it could be because I live in California so the Minnesota prices were pretty low for me. The lobby ambiance is upscale but also perfect if you need to do a a little bit of work. My flights were later than my checkout time, so they were very friendly and accommodating when I had to check my suitcase. It was also really easy to grab the suitcases. I've been to other hotels where I've had to stand in a really long line of people checking in just to claim my suitcase. That wasn't the case here. If I ever come to Minneapolis again, I would for sure stay here. Great location, easy walk to the convention center and great downtown eateries. read more

I love this hotel In downtown Minneapolis! It has a fancy hotel and a homey, friendly feeling all at the same time. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very nice linens and the softest mattresses. The staff is amazing. So friendly and helpful. Always with a smile. The dining options are great. The quick service spot has great breakfast and food choices and even though there is sometimes a line - don't worry - the staff keeps it moving fast. The food is delicious Too. The bar is a great place To hang out and enjoy food Food and drinks The meeting spaces are huge ! So many choices from small to enormous. So Nice ! Having been a long time Hilton girl, I chose Hyatt because an event was hosted here and didn't have many expectations of the stay. Big was I WRONG!!! This Hyatt was amazing - truly affordable yet luxurious and the location was PERFECT for a downtown stay. So much is walkable. You definitely do not need a vehicle here. And the gym? AMAZING!!! I've never seen this nice of a hotel gym! Service was amazing. Bed was PERFECT. Bathroom large. And it sounds odd but the bathrooms for everyone to use were clean and smelled like the ones from a hotel in Cancun - clean and reminded me of the ocean!! She asked where would we prefer our room to be regarding floor, near elevator, room view, etc. King room was very clean and comfortable. Bath was immaculate. Parking was in safe parking ramp. Reasonable place to stay. The hotel is well kept with the usual overpriced attached dinery. I was bummed they did not have microwaves in the room and you had to haul it down to the 6th floor for warmed goods. Would have loved coffee & tea in the lobby. Housekeeping will knock on your door at 9a. Rude awakening. Easy to take the bus and/or walk around including to the blue metro line. Not the greatest nearby food choices. I stayed at the hotel over the weekend of May 17 for a conference in town. On the evening of May 17, I visited the bar and experienced a wait time of 16 minutes before the bartender greeted me and took my order - during that time, the bartender passed by me four times. According to my receipt, the bartender's name was Chris server 149-9678. I believe there may be an opportunity for improvement in customer service and training. Enhancing staff responsiveness could significantly improve the guest experience. From the front desk staff and the staff working at the Hyatt store, as well as the bartender and server at the restaurant everyone was beyond helpful and friendly. A special thank you to Samson who worked at the store Sunday night was overly friendly and helpful to our family. We really enjoyed our time in Minnesota, all the locals were friendly and open to chatting and talking. I don't know that we would come back in the Winter time because we aren't used to the snow, but I recommend the Hyatt for their service alone and I also generally love the Hyatt! read more

Very solid hotel in a great location. Can easily walk to Twins games, North loop, the Mill City Museum, The Guthrie, and US Bank stadium. The gym is one of the nicest I've seen in a hotel. They have peloton, stairmasters, treadmills, and any type of weight or workout machine you could want. It was ok. Clean... enough. Staff was nice. I was here for a convention so the price of it would be hard to tell. They have no rolling beds and won't tell you if you write that on the reservation form online. In the room, all of the mirrors were in the restroom, so that was annoying and inconvenient. Although if you are in the restroom there are nice mirrors for you to do your hair and makeup. Too bad for everyone else. The free refillable water is in the gym area. The elevators couldn't handle two conventions going on at the same and other guest. When one of the elevators broke down, they tried to help out by letting people use the service elevator but that was too little too late. Very expensive coffee shop. They only take card or charge your room. I stayed here and participated in a conference on the 4th floor. The rooms were pretty standard, however, I really enjoyed the conference space. I'll give my pros and cons of the experience: Pros: The lobby is very spacious (allowing small groups to meet), the lobby restaurant was tasty, you are able to check your luggage before or after check out, and the conference space on the fourth floor had multiple rooms of different sizes to accommodate our large group needs. Cons: The "Starbucks" in the hotel had limited coffee options and was only open 6:30-8:30, the hotel location is right by a bus stop with some shady characters, and the elevator situation was inconvenient since you had to have your room key out every time to access any floor except the lobby Overall, I think there are better hotels for conferences close by. I would choose the Hilton Minneapolis over this one. read more

I would stay here again for the gym. It was as big as the ones in Vegas! Several rooms, all this equipment i have seen at LA fitness etc. There's a studio for you to select a class and the tv plays it. This is a large hotel and i was here for a conference. I wish i remembered my bathing suit. The pool closes around 9PM because there are rooms that face into the indoor pool. My room was clean, and the black out curtains really helped me sleep well. I was right next to the elevator and was worried i was going to hear it all night but it was pretty quiet. I also felt safer because you needed to use your card to get to your floor 24/7. For the conference, the directions were pretty easy to get around. As expected, they keep the breakout and ballrooms pretty chilly so bring a sweater! The separators need to be better about keeping out noise, talking, clapping from other sessions happening concurrently. I love that the hotel is right next to the Loring Greenway and it was a pleasant stroll in the afternoons for August. The Greenway lead to restaurants, a tennis court, pickleball court, there was live music happening on the grass and you can take a bridge to the Walker Museum (free on Thursdays) and the famous cherry on a spoon sculpture. read more

This is more of a 3.5 review. Stayed here for 3 nights for a conference. The front desk staff were quite friendly. While the folks in the restaurant were also nice, there were a couple of small, language-related communication issues. The breakfast in the restaurant was great, though. I ordered from the menu - didn't do the buffet. The market in the hotel has a decent selection of items, but the prices are predictably ridiculous. The rooms were pretty much what you'd expect for a place geared towards business travelers. The furniture was clean but uncomfortable and starting to show signs of wear. The bed was fine, the pillows deflated to nothing. The carpet had some dried food stomped into it, but housekeeping was very responsive and fixed the issue quickly. The shower was fine. Sediment buildup where you'd expect it, and only so-so pressure, but it was functional. On the upside, the bathroom had clearly been updated. Overall, I'd stay here again, but I might shop around first. read more

I enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis for a conference in May 2022. The rooms for the conference were conveniently located, well set up, and all the staff I encountered were helpful and polite. My standard hotel room was clean and nicely decorated with a super comfortable bed. The extra mirror and counter area in the bathroom was a nice feature! I wish I could have enjoyed the fitness center area more. It was expansive with full sized courts, weights, and plenty of equipment. The hotel lobby was beautiful with lots of natural light, and I loved spending time there between sessions. One area that could be improved is the pool - it didn't seem to match the rest of the upgraded hotel amenities. I would have liked a hot tub! read more

Immediately upon arriving at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, I liked the hotel. My Uber pulled up and opened the trunk and one valet opened my door while the other got my bag #efficient My room was clean and had several lamps but unfortunately had not been retrofitted with any form of overhead lighting. There was however, a large window which provided sufficient lighting during the day. The major downside that affected how I operated during my stay is that there were no direct usb chargers anywhere in the room. At this point, I think it is standard to provide a direct usb charging option. The other thing the room was missing was a microwave! Luckily this wasn't one of those situations where you have to beg for a fridge. However, there was no complementary water ($3.50/10 oz bottle) and you had to go down to the gym, which was not particularly easy to access, to get to the single microwave all of the guests were expected to share. Personally, I ended up eating my leftovers cold because I thought it was too much trouble to make the trek up and down and all across the hotel to heat up my food. Also, as someone who does not appreciate random food smells in hallways, I didn't want to subject others to that experience. This brings me to the other issue associated with the microwave's location; if someone heated something up while you were in the gym, you were forced to smell it for at least 30 minutes. The other thing missing at this hotel was access to silverware. I highly recommend bringing your own silverware. Before my stay at the Hyatt, I had never had a problem borrowing silverware from the restaurant at the hotel I was staying at. When I asked the host for a set of silverware, he offered me a set of cheap disposable plastic silverware. I was horrified. The gym at this hotel was very nice. There were four rooms with various gym equipment, a basketball court, and what was essentially a yoga room with a system that allowed you to project virtual workouts with which you could follow along. I was excited to see four peloton bikes, but unfortunately I experienced a series of delay when it came to starting my peloton workout. 3 of the bikes were updating when I arrived at and the one that was left was not balanced. Once one of the bikes had finished updating, I was able to log in, but again experienced a hiccup as the seat couldn't shift forward because it had been previously overtightened. At this point, I felt enough of my time had been wasted and decided to just move forward with the bike I had access to in the best way I could. During my time out of the saddle, I heard some concerning sounds. Fortunately, the next night I was able to access another bike that functioned as expected. Besides the peloton bikes, I mostly used the dumbbells although there was one dumbbell that was missing for the duration of my stay which was a bit frustrating as I had to go to another room to borrow the set from that rack. I did decide to try out different equipment on my last day in the gym and found the battle ropes to be too short. I was attending a conference hosted at this Hyatt which was convenient (although I did not get nearly enough sunlight because there were no windows in any of the rooms we used). I think the main ballroom we were in was under the gym and on our last day, we heard what sounded like the battle ropes through the ceiling which was very distracting. Overall, everything was going well until my last morning. For whatever reason, I was exceptionally tired for the duration of my time in Minnesota. As a result, I was very excited to finally have an opportunity to sleep in before my flight as check out was at 11am. However, I was instead woken up by housekeeping trying to get into my room at 8:30. They didn't stop until I tried speaking to them at which point they walked away without responding. Then, at 9:30, they came back and just kept knocking until I responded at which point, they again walked away without speaking. That was truly a terrible way to way up, even without being sleep deprived. I was very confused about what was going on and unfortunately, due to an issue with the phone in my room which Engineering was unable to fix, I wasn't able to quickly get in contact the front desk to get an explanation about what could have possibly been going on. All together, I enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt and in Minneapolis. I just wish it could have ended on a more positive note. read more

I feel like we dodged a bullet as I read others' reviews. My husband and I stayed here when he had a convention. Convenient location downtown. We stayed on the tenth floor and our room was clean. The fitness center was awesome! I've never seen such an enormous fitness center in a hotel, with a full sized basketball court. I almost wish we had had our sons come with us (almost, haha), as they would have spent their entire time on the sixth floor playing basketball. The pool is warm and well maintained, also. The only negative experience we had was when we got housekeeping the second day (at least someone came, I see other reviews where people had to beg for it). The person who did it clearly cut some corners. The beds were made with the pillows still in the haphazard locations we left them, and the clea. towels weren't arranged, just left in a messy pile on the counter. Also, the towels we were discarding by leaving on the floor under the sink weren't even all picked up (some were). The next day though, it was clearly someone different as that housekeeper did an amazing job and it was spotless and neat. Oh, one more negative thing... go somewhere nearby to shop for snacks and bring them back to your room. The sundries shop by the lobby has the most outrageous prices I've ever seen in a sundries shop. I know that by nature, prices will be elevated at a convenience store like that. But this was probably twice or triple the prices I would have expected. read more

Tried moving rooms thinking it was just my bed (staff did great and moved me with no issues) but even the new bed was nominally better. CONS: - Paper-thin walls. Our neighbor's alarm went off for AN HOUR from about 6 am to 7 am one morning. We heard it THE ENTIRE TIME. Apparently he didn't. - Rock hard beds. Kept waking up because my back was hurting. - Shitty toiletries (yes, I use the hotel shampoo...no, I haven't learned my lesson...) PROS: - The. Most. Amazing. Hotel. Gym. You. Have. Ever. Seen. I took a video walking through the gym. It was over two minutes long. This place is HUGE. Every weight machine you could possibly want. Multiple racks of weights. Enough cardio machines to power a small town. Plus battle ropes, a boxing set-up, and a FULL SIZE BASKETBALL COURT. What?!? I wish I could post the video...it's nuts. There are 4-5 LARGE rooms of workout equipment, not counting the basketball court. It keeps going and going and going. If every hotel had a gym this well equipped, they'd lose a whole floor of rooms. I mean, even if you're not going to exercise while you're there, go tour the damn place. It's unreal. It's also weirdly hidden and hard to find...and then once you find it, it's like a magical hidden wonderland of weights. Yes, I loved it. I loved it LOTS. You will too. The front desk people were not helpful. Each time we got a different explanation of the parking. Then they over charged us for parking and were not kind when I discussed this overcharge. They also stated there is a $10 discount on food/drinks charged to the room for not using housekeeping. But they didn't include this on our receipt. I ended up saving over $100 by getting the parking corrected and the discount. They were not apologetic or helpful. The hotel room was fine, not easy with a kid. Stayed here for a conference and it was good. The location is great, walking distance from restaurants and a Target nearby. The rooms are big and I got a nice city view. A little old but well maintained. My neighbors came home late one night and were very noisy so I had to call the front desk, and security came up very quickly. read more

I've been to so many Hyatt Regencies, I'm the most disappointed in this one. My room was so dusty and dirty. There were crumbs on the phone and the tissue box was covered in dust. Normally, when I go into my room I use Clorox wipes to clean the room. This is the first time I actually had to do real cleaning. Another thing that I'm so disappointed about is that they lost my postcards that dropped off to the front desk. I dropped it off at 2 am in the morning and no one was there. So the lady at the counter really didn't get distracted with anything. I called lost and found and they said they will call me back and THEY NEVER DID! And I don't understand why this hotel has so many stairs! read more

I stayed here during my business trip. The front desk staffs were very nice and polite. They even upgrade my room to city view for free without me asking for it! Thanks! Since I am a Hyatt member, I got free water bottles, WiFi, and I even got a coupon! Room was clean, and it was a nice size too. I did enjoy the great city view. It was quiet, didn't really hear much of outside noise. The bed was good, comfortable, not too firm nor too soft. They had the basic amenities such as refrigerator and coffee machine. What I really loved about my room was the vanity area for makeup in the large bathroom! Don't really see that at most regular hotels. Shower was nice with good water pressure, which was most appreciative. Shampoo and other amenities were small in size, but then again, you can always ask for more. They have list of other items you can ask for free also, in addition to the items already provided to your room. The list included items such as toothpaste and toothbrush if you forgot to bring them. They didn't have a robe, but that is another one of the item you can ask to be brought up to your room for free. The closet was rather small, but the room had plenty of drawers. One thing to note, I could not find any USB charging port, which is not good for this modern days... My stay was trouble-free, worry-free, and very comfortable. Conveniently located so it was easy to get around as well. The staffs were always very nice and polite, eager to help. I had a nice stay here! read more

Despite advertising that rooms are cleaned daily, we never received any housekeeping services. We had to beg for towels and coffee pods to be delivered to the room. We also went to the front desk to request these items in person. We were assured that they would clean the room--and they never did. Hyatt asked me for my feedback after my stay. I told them what happened. I got an email back a few hours later saying my "Do Not Disturb" sign was on the door. We never put the sign up!! This is pretty much your standard conference hotel and what you would expect for the Hyatt brand. I found the hotel understaffed with limited meal options and at table service. For all meals you have to order at a crowded bar with limited service. The weather is pretty aggressive so I would have preferred as cozy sit down restaurant with table service instead of a limited pub menu that had to be ordered at the bar. read more
