I got a call from the Minnesota Florists, they were delivering flowers and I had to meet them at the gate, but I didn't order any flowers? I went to meet them at the gate and pick them up but they had not been paid for yet and it was a hundred plus delivery fee! I paid in cash because I didn't want to give my card to a florist I hadn't met or even ordered flowers from. I also wanted to see who was sending the flowers. After paying the delivery lady, she said I'll give this to my mother and handed me the most beautiful vase of flowers anyone had ever seen! There were red roses, purple roses, even tie die roses, there were carnations and chrysanthemums too and even a bird of paradise! Now my car smelled better than when it was first made. If I could give Miss. Ruby 0 's I would!!! Imagine going into this black establishment and spending over a thousand dollars on your mother in law's funeral only for nothing to be delivered on the day of? How about every piece of flower was paid for 2 weeks in advance for only to get an apology and no phone call. I even paid extra money to get the color we wanted so yes May 14th, 2026 will never be forgotten but this customer will never be back again. The amazing staff at Ft Lincoln Funeral Home even went to the florist to pickup my order only to be sent with 2 wrist corsages!!! When I went in the next day for a refund I was told by Miss. Ruby bring me back my wrist corsages and you can get your full refund!!! I was beyond disappointed and at this point felt disrespected but I didn't curse her out I did get them. I also had to wait to get my refund to be posted back on my card until the granddaughter came in that day. Where do I start with Minnesota Florist? I called ahead to let Ms. Ruby know I was on my way to select urn memorial flowers for my stepmom. Upon arrival, I was informed she had stepped out for food, which was fine. Another staff member assisted me; I provided detailed instructions and photos, and we even used a mock box to visualize where the urn would be placed. Ms. Ruby returned about 30 minutes later without an apology, attended to customers who arrived after me, and eventually got to me. We discussed the arrangement, I showed her the picture, paid, and left. On the day of the service, I panicked because my flowers had not arrived. When I saw the arrangement, I was horrified. The shabby display couldn't accommodate the urn, and it was filled with carnations and just a dozen roses--something I could have bought at Safeway. Overwhelmed and disgusted, I had to place the urn down and put a large plant behind it. I called immediately after the service and was told there were no refunds. I couldn't use the arrangement, and it was ugly. Ms. Ruby effectively stole $186 from me during one of my lowest moments and then hung up on me. This is by far the most difficult and utterly disrespectful place that you can ever come to for flowers. They make life so difficult for no reason and on top of everything. Their customer service is horrible. I called and placed an order at 10:30 in the morning with the most difficult lady in the world That couldn't hear me and took forever to type in information. And it was for some flowers to be delivered to my girlfriend at her job. I recently ordered a $260 arrangement for Minnesota Avenue Florists. I should've known when it took so long five days before the service to order the flowers there was got be an issue. The person on the phone kept having me repeat the credit card number, phone number and details. They were even about to get off the phone before I gave the sentiment that I wanted on the card. It is important for me to support local businesses so I placed the order . Two days before the funeral, I got a call asking what time is the wake from the same lady. I remember thinking I gave all this detailed information already and the flowers were to be delivered to the funeral by 10 AM that Friday again I let it go trying to support this small business. When I arrived at the funeral, I was shocked to see there were only a few arrangements and mine was not there. I did not want to act overly concerned during our time of grief, but I did inquire the family had not seen the flowers. I should also mention that I sent a specific picture of the flowers to the florist when ordered. I also called the lady immediately and they assured me they would see what happened. I was reassured several times by the young lady taking my order that my arrangement would be delivered on time. This request was for a funeral being held for a family member on Saturday Morning. Unfortunately, my order never made it to Latney's Funeral Home. I gave her my card information, the delivery address, and my contact information. When I called my cousin's widow to confirm the receipt of the plants after the service, she informed me they were not there. I called Minnesota Florist on Tuesday, August 22, 2003, to get an explanation regarding the issue. I was told the person who took my order was at lunch and I'd receive a call back--I never did. Not to mention the phone etiquette was awful. I had to call multiple times and was placed on hold for 8 mins when I finally go through. Frankly, there's nothing that can be done to fix this. You can't redo a funeral or deliver a bereavement arrangement at a later date. Nor, can Minnesota Florist reconcile the fact that my cousin not having the memento of love that our family wanted to provide to her and children during their time of bereavement. I recently used Minnesota Florist to purchase a mixed plant and flower arrangement for a funeral. The owner of the shop took my phone call and was very patient and helpful with helping me to decide which plants and flowers to select for the arrangement. I was really impressed with her customer service. But I was most pleased and impressed when I saw the arrangement, she really worked her magic. It was one of the most beautiful plant gardens I have ever seen; it was truly gorgeous and the planter pot was very large. I was concerned that I had paid too much for the arrangement but I can tell you right now that I got more than I had expected. It was worth every penny I spent. A lot of people commented on how pleasing the arrangement looked. The florals were delivered on time just as the florist promised. I think this may be the most unprofessional establishment I've ever patroned. I'll give it to them... I ordered a boutonnière for same day delivery the day before Mother's Day, but the website said they had same day delivery for my order. I called soon after I ordered (around 7:30am) and a young lady said they didn't have a timeframe for delivery, but that it would be delivered today (Saturday). I didn't hear anything about the delivery, so I called around 5:30pm. After called 4 times, ringing for about 3 minutes before the nice operator informed me that the caller on the other end couldn't be reached, The gentleman on the phone let me know they didn't deliver boutonnières (even though I was charged for delivery and my delivery address was on my receipt). The gentleman had no form of apology and could not offer an explanation for the error. Thankfully I was able to get over to the shop fairly quickly. When I arrived I walked up to what appeared to be some version of Hoarders - Florist Edition. I was greater by Ms. Ruby who was an more mature woman. I presume she is the master florist. She was very sweet, but apparently lacks anyone with any sense of customer service helping her around the shop. I showed her my receipt and she said she didn't know where my order was (not surprised considering the state of the shop), but she immediately proceeded to make my boutonnière. I was almost tempted to give another star - just for that. But I simply can't. Had I not called I probably wouldn't have received my item at all. I am a proponent of supporting local, black business. Yes...they actually can do beautiful arrangements at very reasonable prices; but they'll deliver your funeral spread during the pastor's sermon and will look at you like you're crazy if you say something--this has literally happened to our family. I used this florist to order arrangements for my grandmother's funeral. The arrangements were beautiful, but they were delivered after the funeral! Before the funeral, I spoke withe the company twice about the time window to deliver the flowers. I also had them put it in writing. I explained that it was a funeral so there was no room for error. They were scheduled to deliver the flowers anytime before noon. The wake and viewing began at 1pm with the funeral immediately following. Minnesota Florists delivered the flowers at 4pm! Everything was over at that point. We were heading to the cemetery, and I was too grief-struck to fight with the delivery man (who gave no excuse for being late). Thank God it was during Christmas and the church had poinsettias all over the stage or my grandmother, who loved tending to the flowers in her garden, would have had a homegoing without the one thing she requested, flowers! $300 wasted. I was a desparate customer who needed funeral flowers FAST(next morning delivery). After five different floral delivery companies was unable to use my payment type, I happened to drive by Minnesota Ave. Florist. I noted the address, called to confirm they were able to assist with my request, then stopped by to set up the order. Once at the establishment, I was greeted. I explained my situation; they said how they were sorry for my loss and expressed their condolences. I was shown the one sympathy/funeral book for flowers. I saw something I could buy, then explained I had ordered something online previously, but was unsuccessful placing the order. I was told to fill out the invoice with those descriptions and item numbers and they could look up the arrangements and would duplicate what I had previously tried to order. The flowers were delivered previous to the service the next day. They were immaculate, vibrant, beautiful, fresh. I honestly cannot say enough about the presentation of the flowers! There were some little issues some I've thrown in without highlighting and some went unmentioned at all, but they are overwhelmingly minuscule compared to the satisfaction I have for the amazing flowers and their timely arrival. read more

The lady on the phone was super apathetic and was in no hurry in researching if my order ever arrived to their destination. She told me to call back in an hour and they would have the answer. Needless to say, I called back after two hours and their answering machine started playing their away message. At the end of the message, the voice said "BEEP" very loudly. I began to say my message but then the person started talking to me. I stated that I was calling to confirm if my order of flowers ever arrived to their location. They took down my information and said that they would get back to me. I'm unsure as why the person needed to pretend to be an answering machine. I showed her a picture of what i was looking for and the price range i was working with and she made it happen. I purchased one large floral arrangement and three smaller arrangements to fill my apartment.They are open late which is a huge plus. I called the florist to informed them that I was not happy with the arrangement they delivered and wanted a refund. He said I should speak to the manager. I asked to speak to her, he said she was helping a customer. So I decided to go by the store (with a stem I pulled from the arrangement) to speak with the manager in person.
